Same here, I have been waiting for the 11 to upgrade from 6S. Now I’m torn between which to choose. I’d like it to last for another 4 years, so the 8 is out. The stupid thing is that the phone are 30% more expensive here (the small pro starts at 1300 usd) but our GPD/capita is less than 50%. Therefore its like shelling out 2600 USD for the smaller iPhone pro for an American. That is just silly. It would be cost effective to fly to NY if you want to buy two or more (assuming customs do not catch you). Tough choice.

Last year in the holiday quarter iPhone out profited Samsung high-end phones by 14 times, it's not a close race.
what i think they did was overprice the Xr because they knew they could sell it for less but wanted to wait until now to lower it to a more reasonable price and release the iphone 11 as the newer budget with a reasonable price (although i think they could of lowered it even more) and they might of even planned this since the iphone X but idk thats what i think they did
They lowered their upfront profit margins for a sustained monthly profit from the services the new users will use (like Arcade, TV+, and Music). Apple knows that in recent years & for the future, people would no longer buy a new phone every year (the last year move to not disclosing iPhone sales shows this). So they have to change their game plan; by becoming a web service company. With the proprietary devices already in people hands, it's an unfair advantage for apple to offer new web services.

I remember when you covered the LG V30 and you thought the wide angle camera was stupid. What changed your mind? Also I'd like to keep in mind that most photos on any phone, while they might be shot on iPhone, they're usually heavily edited or shot with professional lighting so Idk if I trust it until consumers get their hands on it. I'm not an iPhone guy but over the years I've been a lot more neutral in my opinion of them. I still don't think the iPhone is my cup of tea, but the iPhone 11 makes a really compelling argument.

Brandon Y when the 7+ came out I really wanted but couldn’t Then I woke up at 3 am for a damn phone, never did it before and probably never again (iPhone X) Then the Xs Max because of the bigger screen and 512gb This year the design to me is ugly to okay, I don’t like the body colored camera( I like the way it is on xs max and older) the Apple logo being mid centered is whatever but useless, I don’t like how they put the camera but I guess it has a purpose that way??? Either way I hope there is new design for next year I currently use the xs max (512gb) as main tho

This is what I've always told people that put CoinX and other leakers with good track records on pedestals. Just because his track record is perfect right now doesn't mean it'll stay perfect. There were a multitude of "leaks" that turned out to be false this year, and it was obvious that all of the leaks/rumors couldn't be true!
I don't have a problem with the name. 11 and 11 Pro are great and much less confusing than Xr and Xs. The max name is slightly odd, but no weairder than Xs Max.

I don't like the green color (on both) but besides that I like them. I just really hate the naming scheme. This is honestly a substantial upgrade in my opinion, but even if this iPhone had 5G, USB-C, under display Touch ID, smaller notch, reverse wireless charging, I still wouldn’t upgrade, the only two things that would make me upgrade are complete notch removal or pro motion.
You have very high expectations! Companies haven’t even perfected either of those two features yet on smartphones because the technology is still very immature for a pro motion display on OLED and all the front facing sensors under the display. You’ll be waiting a few years.

In addition, you brought up iOS, which is a MAJOR selling point for Apple’s devices. Not only do devices typically get 4-5 iOS version upgrades, but the tie in between iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS works quite well and is something that Android doesn’t really have outside of Samsung phones. Personally, I’d steer clear of Android unless if you want/need a particular feature or are a little more price sensitive.

Most cell phone cameras come with a 30mm field of view. That is already wide-sh. 20-24mm is more of a standard wide angle lens but 30 is a good compromise for day to day photography. It's a focal length that is better suited towards landscapes that portraits. The go to portrait lens is a 85mm but there are technical problems with putting that on a phone. They really need a good 50-80mm lens since most people take portraits with them..
I appreciate the green variants of both the iPhone 11 & iPhone 11 Pro Max. The purple iPhone 11 is a good look also. The crew and I will definitely have those.
At first I was disappointed that its not coming with USBC.....Then, I realized that I haven’t plugged my pixel 3xl in since I bought the pixel stand. I’m sure I could just put it on the stand at night the same way. I’m not happy about the charger that comes in the box still. I’m more interested in the 10r. Rey Rivera Yes, unfortunately the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max were the last iPhones to have 3D touch. Going forward iPhones will have haptic touch.

I'm actually pretty happy with this years update. I think many people just will be disappointed next year because they believe next year will be a gigantic update which probably won't happen.
what people dont understand is that the iPhone 11 was made for the average consumer. For a day in the life. The iPhone 11 Pro was made for Professional photography. Phil even said its made for people who need the ultimate phone for their shootings.

Primus03 No what I‘m saying is is that people don’t need the Pro version. That’s why the XR sold better than the XS. Because the XR did what anyone needed it to do. This is the same case. If you actually need that third camera and the whole better performance because of your job or your lifestyle then go for the 11 Pro

Dennis Carlson, iOS 13 will make updates apps smaller by 50%. App storage of 30 GB will be reduced to 16 GB or something. HEIC photos will conserve storage space too.

Chandler Burns Right? Just recording a sizeable video in 4K & doing all the editing you can on it. I’m sure that’s able to chew up a good 15%-20%% of your storage alone with 1 video. With 128g as standard. I would have less worries.

ash2730 for you maybe, but I and many of my friends and family don’t need any more storage, I’d much rather buy a brand new iPhone for $699/$999 than $799/$1099 starting price. Plus there is plenty of more storage you could get for just that much more

King_Abel I mean, the Always-On display is a pretty big deal for a lot of people. Not for me. I get what you’re saying, though.
Most cell phone cameras come with a 30mm field of view. That is already wide-sh. 20-24mm is more of a standard wide angle lens but 30 is a good compromise for day to day photography.
It's a focal length that is better suited towards landscapes that portraits. The go to portrait lens is a 85mm but there are technical problems with putting that on a phone.
They really need a good 50-80mm lens since most people take portraits with them..

At first I was disappointed that its not coming with USBC.....Then, I realized that I haven’t plugged my pixel 3xl in since I bought the pixel stand. I’m sure I could just put it on the stand at night the same way. I’m not happy about the charger that comes in the box still. I’m more interested in the 10r. Is there much of a difference between the screens of the 10r and the 11?

Once again I missed the event due to being on midnights. I’ve been holding out for AirPods so I’m a bit disappointed but I guess I can wait until October and see if they launch then.
