What a perfect tone... This is where I enjoy Frank's playing the most.
Yes, even Frank himself kind of mockingly spoke about the obsession with speed, but he had to hop on the bandwagon

Trombone with valves, rare to see and emotionally charged playing. A percussionist who can both tune and play properly on the drums, and most importantly, Frank who is in a class for himself in the world with his soul-stirring guitar.

Frank is such a special player his tone is always right, so supremely talented. He's a guitar's player's dream, simply one of the best ever!! but strangely still unknown in some circles.
What I find pretty cool about this particular lineup of musicians with Gambale... it has this "Smooth Jazz" kind of feel... but it has an edge to it... very interesting... in a good way...

yes you are right this is from the 1991 album NOTE WORKER which I thought was a good album but thunder down under has the slight edge.
I am pretty sure Frank is using his signature guitar, the ibanez FGM100.
Really wish they produce those again, but Frank ditched Ibanez a long time ago. He went through yamaha for a short time and now I think he's endorsed by kiesel / carvin.
What...Gambale doesn't need a partition.He's a great,a genius.

Very skilled, but a little less sugar and syrup and a little more jazz would have made it for me.
Not bed....but there are better stuff by Gambale ... i mean the hard fusion things with speed and more creativity...
