I'm just gonna be honest -- I don't use Waze to find out where I'm going. I use it to find out where all the cops are hiding. 🤣🤣
Hakakakakakaka
I don't understand why they won't let the Auto version tell me where I parked. I can't describe the added convince that would provide during the countless times I've sat in my car and wondered where I parked.
This is an early version, they are planning on adding more features later/in the near future.
Alex McHugh I thought he was being sarcastic...
theres always this someone who never gets it... HAHA
gotta work that memory buddy...lol your too young to be forgetful.
Your smart phone can tell you that. Google maps
I miss having the speed limit show on waze
Am I the only one who thinks it's annoying that huge direction screen/notification bubble from waze taking half the space from the multimedia display??
I tried everything to reduce it or even minimize it but couldn't figure it out. Does anyone know how it's done?
Hello just wondering if you figured out how to fix the issue you were having I'm having the same problem it's so annoying help please
@@jvaz1970 no friend, had to get used to it unfortunately.
If you share your ETA before you plug in your phone, it will still work as the app has to load up the already open app
You forgot the biggest omission - you can't access the Waze settings from the dashboard app. Swiping in from the left doesn't work as in the AA app on the phone. Very frustrating as I usually use with my motorcycle (no tolls, no highways) and when I'm already underway in the car, I cannot change it without disconnecting.
can you specify a specific street to take in waze to the desired destination
I hope we will get full waze later on. Speed and voice is crucial
John Davis how is speed crucial if theres already one in your car
ScoobyJD Lmaoooo
The best thing about the speedometer on waze is that it shows the speed limit as well. It is also nice to see the exact number instead of a needle.
Alex Zicong Yan most cars' speedos are inaccurate, GPS is more accurate.
Waze is the best
Waze is like 10X better than Google maps.. Google like to take you through Tolls , as they have connections with tolls companies to raise their revenue.
Trying to alert drivers via Wave's voice interface is an exercise in frustration. "Okay, Waze: Report car on the side of the road." "Sorry I can't do that right now." I've even been asked to pull over and enter the information manually, which it gladly accepts by the way, even when the car is moving. This app is an accident waiting to happen.
Waze doesnt show the lane u suppose to be like google map ...the is the only reason why im still using google map...this is very helpful when approaching junctions with more than 2 lanes...other than this waze is much better especially with the accuray....ull understand this if ur a e hailing driver like uber or grab
I know this video is at least a year old but wanted to say that mine does have the speed limit now. What is really bad about Waze on Android though is that you cannot change the route options on the head unit. I need to be able to choose from Avoiding tolls to Not Avoiding on the fly. Google maps allows this but Waze does not.
Unfortunately you lose the Sync 3 menu screen and it's functions while running it this way, including Sirius, CD, Radio, USB music and more.
Can U tell me why my Waze doesn't work when I'm driving sometimes? it says no internet & so I can't talk to it to give the address & it doesn't talk to me. I get lost all the time now without the app working. I have a UMX android smartphone, Not the best, but it is all I have now.
I do have an iPod but it won't work because it has no DATA... My phone seems to not make the data work either.
Got any ideas why???
Any ideas would b appreciated.
I drive a VW bus without any lighter so I must use a portable;e charger to keep the battery up.
How do I set it up since it says I have no internet.
I am thinking I am using data, but I get no sound.
It works sometimes but other times it doesn't.
It should work without wifi right???
Let me know your thoughts...
I just bought a new subaru. My android auto works fine. However, the navigation w/ google maps & waze doesn't work correctly. it shows me the initial screen how to get to my destination, then that's it. it does not read out loud step by step or what exit to take to my destination. do u know why? please help. thanks.
Im having the same issue with Hyundai 2019. Any one knows what to do?
Can you still use it on your phone with the latest version of android auto?
From where get´s the car the gps datas if the mobilephone is plugged in the USB down in the car?
Can I use ways that has a screen but no Nav System on my car
Maybe I'm stupid , but while using Waze on Android Auto , I can't figure out how to discontinue navigation
My waze on android auto doesn't allow me to set the map to North Up. Is there any way of doing this?
The major problem with Waze is that you can only go on a 1000 Mile Journey before you have to restart or begin a journey from that point on where is Google Maps you can undo an entire circle of the United States in one sitting you don't have to change it every thousand miles
Rebecca Campbell most people don't drive that far. For that one time they can use Google maps
why in the f would i need Android Auto to tell me where my car is parked when I'm in the car?
txtoolfan u sad bafoon...
txtoolfan 😂😂😂
I can't seem to get the turn list for Waze on Android Auto like I can on my phone. Am i missing something, is there a way I can get the complete turn list for a route?
I use Mazda aio tweaks for my Mazda 6 to get android auto, and Google maps lags when playing music....but Waze somehow works
Is there an option for avoiding tolls? Can't figure that out. Or does it do whatever the phone app is set to?
yep. go to bottom left microscope, then top left gear wheel, look under "Driving preferences"
This video is a couple of years old. Some of the feature that were not on the system then have been added. Unfortunately, I believe in the process of making changes the application has been degraded in its use. For example, looking at the screen shown here you see that the information box is shown to the far left. In the newest version the information screen has been moved more to the right. That means there is less room to see the map. This system is not far different from Android Auto Neither system works very well. They are constantly in some state of malfunctioning. Constant excuse making by Google. Also there is a Facebook link in the main screen that cannot be removed. I have no confidence that my personal information is not being sent to Facebook on an ongoing basis. In addition, it seems to me that Google is purposely trying to confuse how the system works by not providing clear and concise instructions. A typical Google trademark. For example, if you want to turn this system off when running in Android Auto, press the off button shown here. In plain English.
Link download? Please!
I'm used Ford ecosport 2018!
my Android Auto keeps losing connection after about 20 minutes, tried different cables but it made no difference, had to unplug cable then plug back in to get it working again, frustrating and my first time with Android Auto.
just wondering - which map is better on android auto ? waze or google map ?
personally, I like WAZE.
Does it show speed limits?
You traveled 5 miles to ice cream.
fantastic!!!!
I enjoy using Waze on my phone, but I've found the experience on Android Auto to be laggy compared to Google Maps. For that reason alone, I've relegated myself to Google Maps.
Why cant I get waze from my Galaxy 9to my 2020 Nissan rouge
Does it still tell you about speed cameras?
I know it tells you where traffic camera's are. Just started using mine today.
Cheers Bill
Can I install it on my car Android headunit and get it work without internet connection?
Why cant I get waze on my 2020 Rouge Using a Android phone
Ik moet dit hebben
i have this and it lags i will make a video about it
Wait hold on. How does download it ? To our phone ? Waze Android Auto version ? Use the car's GPS to download? How ?!
Couldn't find it anywhere
First of all, make sure that your car is compatible with Android Auto. If that is the case, download Waze from the Play Store like usual, connect your phone via the USB-port to you car, and it should pop-up somewhere on your cars infotainment screen. I'm not sure where, but you should be able to find it!
Does waze on android Auto show the speed limit? That's important for me
Yes
Waze keeps disconnecting on my android auto.
Waze is too slow and cumbersome. I hate when you tap on your destination, it has to think and calculate the route (takes too long), it displays a prompt showing the estimated time (more time wasted); so you have to tap 'go'. More time wasted. I wish there was a way to get Waze to just take me to my destination without having to click on all the prompts.
cop function is like a radar i don't have to install
Funny, but that is the reason I stopped using Waze. At interstate speeds, it generally reported "speed trap ahead" just as I was in the trap zone. Suspect it is because of the delay in previous drivers hitting the report button. It used to also regularly crash my phone (an S3 back then), usually right when approaching a difficult intersection.
Google maps has (fixed) speed cameras on the map and even a spoken notification when you're aproaching it.
Google owns waze. Google maps also uses user data for traffic (yes, google maps has traffic, accidents, repairs and closures and even speed cameras) So basically, Google owns Waze to put on google maps those things. Why use waze then? Other than actively reporting there's really no reason. AND you can't report properly while driving so... Useless
how well does this tell you if theres a cop
JONNPODY 6 while I was using the app on the highway maybe 70-75%
San Francisco
My map doesn't look like yours...it doesn't have an arrow and don't face north. It's crap!
downfall to waze using android auto on a gm vehicle you have to use the USB cable & wont work on Bluetooth.
Guess people like you just like to press buttons and become mesmerized by the visuals of the display. You mentioned a reroute or alternate routes...Waze like others DON'T OFFER ANY REAL CHOICES! Yeah, it can offer to take you to another freeway that might be 4 miles away. But what about just avoiding a traffic situation that's on your route (say due to road work for the next 1 or 2 miles) and all you want to do is go down the side streets
just to avoid the stop and go on the main route. Why can't you just put in reroute OFF THIS STREET FOR 1 MILE ONLY...so it takes you down the side streets, residential streets until you clear the traffic issue. Waze, Google Maps don't offer this SIMPLE feature. They always want to take you onto another freeway period.
Now make one for Apple CarPlay!
At the moment Apple does not offer other navigation apps beside its own Maps on the CarPlay platform; once they do, they will look to see if they can bring Waze to CarPlay as well.
Waze is owned by Google... I wouldn't hold your breath on that unfortunately.
Google Play Music is now CarPlay ready so...
kernalrom because waze isn't on the App Store lol.
Apple does not want to do that. CarPlay is the only place they are able to force you apple maps otherwise I always use Waze. I am considering the switch from iPhone to Android for the same reason.
No voice integration? Like seriously? How can you not get distracted if you have to type everything?
Raghu Ram I just use the voice control buttons on my steering wheel which work fine with AA
I want the Uber partner app for android car :(
this is a hands on video???
This guy has caterpillars above his eyes.
This guy is paying no attention to the road
You lost me at see 'other' Waze drivers. No thanks, they need to disable that creepy feature.
You do that yourself in settings.
Private or public, I don't like to be tracked. Google is pushing it and their security and usage is more on the up and up...
...but thanks for the heads-up.
“polyy”?
Soryy
About time, though I still prefer Google Maps
apple has no maps it uses google maps.
Hey dude, you need to watch your video and realize how many seconds you are not watching the road.....wow
Did he actually say that it won't tell you where you parked? While your in the car? Umm....maybe rethink that con.
You should not hold your steering wheel like that. You're not a chav and it gives poor car control.
u shouldn't have to use a gps to get to work lol
Emmanuel Diaz incorrect. You should use GPS to get to work. I live in a big city and there's more than four different ways to get to one location. Every morning there's traffic in different areas and every morning it's a different path to work.
Unless you live in an urban area with lots of congestion
If you live in a large urban area like LA, New York, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta etc Waze is a life saver.
I think Waze sucks actually. Here's some things that I discovered while beta testing Waze on AA:
1. Alerts; Rarely get them - even when I can clearly see it on the map. Most times what they say is there isn't there. Can you say false sense of security - sure you can.
2. Waze does not tell me what lane I need to be in for an exit on multi-laned highway. GM does and it's very useful when when you got 7 lanes to cross...
3. Route display: Waze's is poor. You see 3 cards with a line below them and then their traffic/construction icons. No way to tell where exactly the traffic is along your route. With GM the map shrinks down and you see 3 different routes color coded for traffic and with an indication if it's 10 minutes slower or 4 minutes slower for routes B and C.
4. Really don't need Waze advertising to me to stop and get a burger at a red light...
Edit: Additional observations...
I just got back from driving from San Diego to Carmel for Tommy Emmanuel's Guitar Camp (with Joe Satriani holding his own camp at the same facility!). So I thought I'd run Waze one way and Google Maps the other way. Sorry to say but I had to stop using Waze! In addition to the above:
5. Does not apparently support multiple stops. So y ou're driving and say search for "Denny's nearby". It finds it and sets a route for the one you select - and then discards your current route! Just damn forgets it. I mean yes it's in a recents list but it did not add your stop at Denny's as an additional stop!
6. It draws a horrible map! When driving say on I-5 here in California, it'll zoom out which is OK. But the route drawn on the map then gets about 3 times thicker than when you are zoomed in and it looks like crap. Doesn't seem to zoom in properly when a turn is upcoming and if you zoom in to try to fix the too fat for it's own good line it'll just zoom out some time later.
7. I occasionally lose the route if I say stop at 7-11 and take my phone with me.
Wish I could report this to the Waze Beta time but something screwed up when I signed up and of course they don't respond to email...
Sorry Waze but I'm not impressed at all! I'll stick with Google Maps...

Bring it to apple
They currently can't. Literally. Apple doesn't yet support third party navagation apps on CarPlay. You're stuck with Apple Maps for the foreseeable future.
