Hey y'all! I know I've been away from the channel for the last couple months, but a lot has developed - we have a team now! And we have a lot in store this year! Thank you for being patient and hope y'all are as excited as I am!

My message comes a bit late, but just to say that I really glad to know you are back! Looking forward to what you have planned for this year!

I still think Google missed the opportunity by not putting ChromeOS in the Pixel Tablet. Even with ARM chipset, you can still run a lot of desktop Linux softwares natively, which is something you can never do with Android.

Agreed. ChromeOS is the best thing they are doing right now!!!

Nice retrospective! I was looking at a Pixel Slate but I ended up going with a Lenovo Smart Tab M10. I works great as a multimedia device and I like that it comes with a dock that supports Ambient Mode!

The real question is whether the Pixel Slate is a better buy over the new tablet in 2023 for someone who needs it for reading.

For reading/working, I would get the Slate since it has a keyboard/peripherals. If you are just reading eBooks you can get away with the Pixel Tablet, but you might have to buy a third party case. I have a Pixel Tablet, but have a Pixel Slate coming in tomorrow, because I still want something to be productive in that is light like a Tablet.

@@kirby6-kg8nj Thanks for the feedback! I got a great deal on the Slate and loving it so far. Been using it more than my laptop for light tasks.

Hey! Thank you for this great comparison. If you get your hands on the Pixel Tablet, I would love to see one-on-one handwriting comparison 😊

Is the pixel tablet reusing any hardware from the pixel slate? They look so similar, including the contact pins on the back. Curious if the Slate will attach and charge on the Tablet dock 🤔

No, Pixel Tablet is completely new. No parts are carried over from Pixel Slate.

I'm looking for a Surface like device as I find the Surface desireable but outside my budget. This leads me to Chromebooks like the Lenovo Duet 3/5 and for Windows the 5i. So many options out there. I'm looking forward to see what the Pixel Tablet is going to be, but I need a tablet/laptop hybrid and not a smart screen.

One Netbook T1 may be something you are looking for. As well as Fydetab Duo. I've even seen a Pro X-alike tablet, but it was 250$ cheap knock-off with Celeron (but still with kickstand, type cover and high resolution display).

I got a great deal on the Slate recently and definitely still feels premium with updates until 2026. If you need more CPU performance I would suggest an i5/i7 Slate.

Dude, I just split screened chrome while you said you couldn't. Nice retrospect. But I think you haven't really explored the the QoL stuff. Wrote this on a Slate M3 with a broken keyboard lol. Great stand though.

ChromeOS has recently had updates to allow for dragging two Chrome windows to either side. If you watch that section it wasn't possible in that build.

I'm not sure about this, the design looks outdated and has that clunky chrome type os.

    • @sergioruiz9464

It honestly looks better in person. As far as chrome os is concerned, it keeps better as the years go by.
