The model is made of wood reinforced with fiberglass and carbon fiber and was designed and built entirely by Tom.
The molds for the canopy, engine hood and spinner are self-made.
The construction time was around 2000 hours.

The best sounding in-line engine is Kolm. However, the radial Moki engines sound the best, actually sounding more amazing than the real full size radial engines of the corsair and fw-190.

The 3 cyl. produces a gorgeous sound- multiples of 3 are the way to go for a sound remniscent of a V-12.

Absolutely beautiful! I'm also an owner of the rare 1/5th Giant Scale Top Flite Gold Edition P-51d Mustang being a full 2,146mm wingspan (84.5") and a full balsa build with 5" Robarts wheels and Robarts pneumatics powered by a classic 5.2 Brison gas engine....and this is a 11kg (24lbs) giant bird, you just have to love big beast likes these, and your work is absolutely stupendous!
So that's how a 3 cylinder Merlin sounds! Beautiful model really well flown!

It must be quite different flying such a large plane - 230cc wow! We have similar styles ..big maneuvers and our right turns don’t come as naturally.

It's an ARF according to comments. So now you can't like it? Hey people's time is apprortioned differently, whatever you use for building takes away from flying, and having good building and flying skills is a rare thing. Usually people focus on their strengths, but this is a flying hobby primarily.
