Not just range. It has better top speed, bigger wheel, better suspension and it stay in the 50%+ range so has "good" torque for longer even if you don't use all that battery.
One comment about difficulties in pivoting a rear handlebar device is not to forcibly pivot from the handle, but rather use a combination of tilting the wheel and pivoting with the handle. Begode users know the drill. It's effortless when done properly and enables very accurate control.
I've heard this myth repeated by a few media influencers, but a higher battery voltage does not drain the battery faster. Power is measured in Watts, and all that matters is the Watts stored in the battery and the Watts used by the motor. A motor which consumes 10A@50V, or 5A@100V are both consuming the same amount of power (500W) and will both drain a 1000Wh battery in 2hrs. The benefit of the higher voltage, is that you can transfer the same amount of power with a lower current (Amps), and produce less waste heat. You can also then use thinner and lighter cables.
It gives you the potential to drain the battery faster, but as you said, the same motor output at any voltage takes the same amount of current out of the batteries.
This is basically true as a rule of thumb but a higher Voltage motor is slightly more efficient but this is mostly negated by the heavier motor needed for those higher speeds. 😮 In the end, speed is what drains batteries in the fastest/shortest time but its worth it if you’re not going far or want to get there quicker. More is just different but not always better value.
I got 20 miles @ 126v with 2200wh as compared to 100miles (5x) @ 100v on the Sherman with 3600wh (1.6x). With an IP55 rating and the knobby tires I'm thinking this would be a great replacement 2nd vehicle for the commuter that doesn't quite need the range of a veteran sherman s, but wants to be able to still ride on those snowy days. It's definitely on my radar for sure. I love that they focused on torque rather than top end speed. This really maximizes the performance in the speed range that sensible people actually tend to travel (30-35mph.)

I think this wheel is a very legit wheel. The extreme is gonna be a super worthy competitor. Specs alone won't say it all but I do believe which ever rides more stable at higher speeds will be the ultimate winner
If you are looking for high speed stability, why are you getting a 16” wheel? 16” should be smaller, lighter, and more nimble. High speed stability is what a 20 or 22” wheel is for.
Biggest problem is that the extreme isn’t coming for another 3 month. With the warm weather coming, who’s willing to wait till fall for their new wheel??

Have you seen the video of the guy from Africa making his own EUC from scrap parts? That is an option if the will is there. Also a used market EUC (say an older tesla or likewise with a battery still up to the mark) could be an option. I cant think they would cost more than maybe 500$ given they were 1000$ new and they are really fun wheels still today (I still ride my Tesla v1.2 in the city as its so darn nimble and you are not allowed to ride faster than 40km/h.in the city streets either way)
Thanks for the great review. You make me laugh calling 30 miles tiny range.... I think that the majority of EUC riders never go on a ride that is more than 30 miles at a time. Also if your riding off road, 30 miles would take hours to complete because average speed on MTB trails are typically around 15 MPH and its one hell of a work out compared to riding on the street.
I'm new to the sport so I don't go on particularly long rides (yet...?), but one thing I like about range is not having to keep lugging the wheel upstairs and having more power available for longer. It's nice only having to charge the thing once a week even if I'm riding almost every day. I think it starts to make more sense if you look at range as distance between charges rather than the longest you can ride for in one go.
Top quality content as usual. Love the look with the North Pads and the mosfet sticker. Beautiful wheel. I'm guessing we'll see a lot of them this September for Amped thunderdome competition.
Another great video! Been looking fwd to your review. I have this wheel pre-ordered and am looking fwd to riding it around nyc! Hopefully because I am pretty light and not an aggressive rider I will get a bit more range!
Love my Sherman Max. It wasn't perfect, but I worked through the issues with eWheels and have been happy with them too. Small & suspension is nice. 80 pounds? Less nice. The Max is about as heavy as I'd like to go.
Sherman is still great and yeah the weight, keep in mind that neither Sherman S nor the Patton feels heavier when ridden, only a problem when you have to carry them around.
It’s seems like a really nice wheel…however, the current design trend for the industrial look leads to an EUC with a lot of sharp edges that protrude from pretty much every corner of the wheel…I’m thinking front and back carry handles, the suspension mount at the back, kick stands etc…many of which are metal, with hard edges. My concern is that in a fall, particularly a higher speed fall, a wheel of this design and weight could become very dangerous indeed if it hit the rider or a bystander. Those hard metal protrusions would not be causing a few nasty bruises, they would be breaking bones..and very easily!
@@DangaWaT Good Question! for newer riders just starting out, suspension could be an over all game changer. For Veteran riders owning/riding the the fastest non-suspension wheel is a value that outstrips such a limited suspension wheel. If one must have suspension; For a $1000 - $1600 more one could get a V3 Commander Pro, EX30 or Master Pro with suspension and waaaaaaay better specs. These wheels are luxury items after all.
@Danga I would rather have range. Suspension makes it easier to ride, and therefore, you'd kill it easier. I wish they could make an EXN pro with 4 batteries, I would never run out of range.
@@jamesordwayultralightpilot am I understanding your post correctly; Suspension making riding an EUC easier to ride and results in negatively impacting the range of your wheel?
Seems overall a good allrounder for everyday use, but I'd have like it to have just a tiny bit more range at that weight or a smaller form factor at the capacity. Definitely on my radar. Maybe a 2nd/3rd gen of it.
Hsiang! 19 minutes was with delighfull contents👌🏻i really cant wait for the commander mini to de-throne the patton except for build quality off course😂
Great one. Did you wish the pedals were higher when navigating through rocks and roots? The Patton looks like a great trail wheel, but I worry about pedal clip.
Honestly, no matter which wheel you ride you will wish you had more pedal height if you try to tackle any kind of trail.. I still do but I always expect to get thrown off and it does happen, I've caught roots and rocks and even shallow holes that stop the wheel dead but you keep going, learn how to fall 😅 of course there are plenty of paths out there which won't give you any problem
Could always get after market pedals and adjust tilt angle. Or do it yourself with shims (i permanent mounted lomg wedges on my Tesla as it's about as low as you can get and it snagged everything offroad, worked A LOT better after)
@@rolleverything Patton specs are impressive but an 18 or 20 dia wheel will give a bit more clearance.. King song s22 had a lot of issues but it's more of a trail wheel than Patton in my opinion.
If you are 140 lbs. (like myself), would you get the Patton or the T4? ( if price is no object but ride quality and the better ease of control and handling is the big consideration, especially on trails)
I think my only concern is the material it’s made out of, lightweight aircraft aluminum is sturdy but also soft. I’ve seen reviews saying you can easily strip the threads easily just by trying to take a few screws out when trying to swap tires 😬😬 I’m just thinking of the wear and tear it’ll have to endure with everyday use and what that might mean the longer you have it
At 100v (my guess) its probably going to be less powerful but have better range, also 10mph less on the top speed so quite the difference to fast riders
it would be really awesome if you had an google sheet with all your grades across all EUCs. that would make navigating this really fast changing marked so much easier ;)
First I love your content.. thanks! So this is a great proposal for me, this wheel. But to keep comments shorter only one question: I noticed wobble? The stance you used is too far forward and I have to ask is that due to the adjustable jump pad being too far forward that (for it to be comfortable and usable) you need a slightly forward stance then you might otherwise need without the jump pad?
It's easier to wobble for the same reason why it's so agile, the Patton is design with most of its mass closer to its centroid so its easier to pivot, so less momentum to keep it on axis but it's well balanced enough that when it does happen the wobbles are predictable and easy to control. But again, at higher speed this becomes more of an issue but I suspect that not a lot of ppl would really ride above 40mph regularly.
I only got the wobbles on my sherman upon heavy emergency stops when I was learning.. I’ve advanced to the point I avoid emergency stops. Turning seems to be the solution. The other issue is train tracking (tremmling). I fear that the most I like to steer not be steered.
Thanks for another great review! Which spring weight is the demo wheel - 62? You mentioned it felt stiffer than your Sherman-S. If you were getting a Patton would you be looking at rhe 62 or the 66 for your personal use?
the edge hurts my calves, needs to be rounded or padded. instant speed, really easy to turn, I got the street tires, it corners really nice. the foot grabbers take getting used to, I fell over trying to get off it once.
16:04 Yea its not 30% faster then a V11, but 50% faster. also has 46% more battery plus metal structure and way better suspension... I hate the prices just as much, but they have their reasons.
V11 max out at 34/5mph so the Patton is actually exactly 30% faster at 45/6mph! but I know everybody will have a different calculation when they compare prices so
@@OWGAC more interested in jumps capability than the torque as the s22 pro has more than enough (handles 40 degree grade in real life), I do ride in Florida so most my incline are 20-30 feet at a time nd only on trails. i bent my axel and broke my bearing in the v12 HT fairly quick and I need something that can handle to jumps, thats where my issue is the patton goes a bit faster and is more durable when crashed but i dont think as durable when jumped as the s22 dye to the less travel in suspension
You can't go wrong with the sherman S, I still don't regret my purchase since I still love that wheel

Hi, I'm about to buy a new unicycle, and here in Brazil, there's only the option of the Sherman S and the Patton. Which of these do you think is better? Which one has the highest torque, highest speed, highest stability, and the most suspension?
Hey just an idea. I'm 6'8" and 330 pounds. How does a heavyweight get a starter EUC without just buying the most expensive EUC? What are the cheap heavyweight options?
Still don't have a wheel yet but was pretty much sold on the V11... But the Patton really seems to be the one to get! ❤ Still wish they would revisit the Abrams & make a Abrams Max, would have been a perfect cruiser wheel for us big boys.
V11 is a solid choice for a first wheel. It’s also mature meaning less likely to have problems. But if price is not a big factor for you it’s hard to argue against Patton.
16" is sightly harder to learn on, as its a bit more unstable, but if you prefer agility over straight forward speed runs, 16" ia the way to go. For me i would never have left 16" but had to since at the time there were no 16" options that oozed quality and performance (only the bigger sherman basically, begode/gotway were all built like toys back then with wood screws, open holes to mobo area, horrible cable management and a lot more. Haven't looked if they changed but my trust is now in Veteran owning both brands and having to heavily modify my Tesla to make it "safe and water proof-ish") As of now i would like to try a v12 or v13 (v13 expensive though). But this one seems EXTREMELY solid, typical Veteran. InMotion is probably safer as a first wheel though due to safety margins (i guess? Maybe veteran followed suite?). The last thing you want to break on any wheel without tiltback active (and working at all battery charge levels) is a broken beeper. Unless you allready tuned warning limits in euc world and drive with one headphone for warnings and music (two would be stupid as you can't hear traffic). Beeps are hard to hear in 60 km/h especially if windy and/or wet so for me its one headphone both on the Sherman and the Tesla.
The V11 is the easiest first wheel to ride. I got mine literally 2 weeks ago and after setting it up, balance felt effortless with that thick 3.0 width tire. Max PSI in the shocks and the tire helped a lot too.
Beautiful presentation, nevertheless you compare it to the classic Sherman which is not part of the same category or use... at no time do you compare it with the Begode T4 v4 which is much more improved than v1 and above all much more comparable as 16 inches. It's a shame because this is a real dilemma for many people. The two best 16-inchers have a very different price and weight and it would be really interesting to compare them. Personally it's complicated to spend more than 3000 dollars for a 16 inch which is not used to travel too long but to have fun and to be very fun and handy and I think that many users will agree with Me.
We need city friendly commuter with range and solid build quality, like v12 but better, it has enough umph out of the city ride, enough range, speed, build quality could be better, suspension too while keeping the weight to 30ish kg
Suspension require stronger casing which adds weight, only way to build a 30kg wheel is to skip suspension but that is a sacrifice few willing to make (they aren’t selling anymore)
@@OWGAC begode t4 is such an appealing wheel but begode quality 😢 not having a service shop in Serbia limits me to inmotion and kingsong latter batches

Those hard metal protrusions would not be causing a few nasty bruises, they would be breaking bones..and very easily!
Hell yeah dude, fresh vid!
Your reviews are pretty darn good.
I was a bout to finally pull the trigger on this wheel then this ticket drama started here in canada so have to wait and see again....
I still feel like I'm happier spending 3 grand on my EXN a year ago. We've gone so many places and never ran out of juice.
But u dont have suspension. Isnt that enough of a game changer for a lot of ppl?
@@DangaWaT Good Question! for newer riders just starting out, suspension could be an over all game changer. For Veteran riders owning/riding the the fastest non-suspension wheel is a value that outstrips such a limited suspension wheel.
If one must have suspension; For a $1000 - $1600 more one could get a V3 Commander Pro, EX30 or Master Pro with suspension and waaaaaaay better specs. These wheels are luxury items after all.
@@letssamplethis7641 but still shitty Begode
@@busybody1474 I’ve been trail riding with an S18. I like the Patton but moving down to a 16” wheel worries me that pedal clip would be more frequent.
@@rolleverything You're right to be concerned, been riding KS 16x for 3 years..
@hsiang hopefully one of your videos cover that seat install on the Sherman S, looks dope
Man, that chin bar is like wearing a skullcap; memories of protection.
Awesome review Hsaign. Great wheel
Great review thanks!!
If you are 140 lbs. (like myself), would you get the Patton or the T4? ( if price is no object but ride quality and the better ease of control and handling is the big consideration, especially on trails)
@hsiang, awesome review. Question, what has the better torque and maneuverability, the v12, or the patton? Is the patton top heavy like the v12?
Patton has more torque than any wheels on the market right now, so yes even more than the v12
I just rode extremely vigorously for 39 miles and only at 48%.
i hope you can compare to begode extreme!
I hope so too!
I think my only concern is the material it’s made out of, lightweight aircraft aluminum is sturdy but also soft. I’ve seen reviews saying you can easily strip the threads easily just by trying to take a few screws out when trying to swap tires 😬😬 I’m just thinking of the wear and tear it’ll have to endure with everyday use and what that might mean the longer you have it
Aircraft aluminium isn’t soft.
I work every day with this material.
The side frames on this wheel are made of magnesium I think, which is quite soft.
Awesome video, plese make also the review of the T4 :).
He did, but only for the the v1
Just awesome. Awesome wheel and awesome review!
Before Extreme next! 😆 InMotion and KingSong for sure should be worrying, though Begode will likely be fine.
What a great little wheel. I wonder how that’s going to compare against the S 19
At 100v (my guess) its probably going to be less powerful but have better range, also 10mph less on the top speed so quite the difference to fast riders
@@OWGAC plus that S 19 looks like it has permanent leg pads
Someone better make Hsiang with squished cheeks from the full face helmet into a meme
it would be really awesome if you had an google sheet with all your grades across all EUCs. that would make navigating this really fast changing marked so much easier ;)
😬 I seem to get wobbles on my V12ht above 40km/h, no issues on the original Sherman, T4 or s22.
I pre-ordered the Patton… hoping it wobbles less 😅
I only got the wobbles on my sherman upon heavy emergency stops when I was learning.. I’ve advanced to the point I avoid emergency stops. Turning seems to be the solution. The other issue is train tracking (tremmling). I fear that the most I like to steer not be steered.
Thanks for another great review! Which spring weight is the demo wheel - 62? You mentioned it felt stiffer than your Sherman-S. If you were getting a Patton would you be looking at rhe 62 or the 66 for your personal use?
It's 62 which is also the same as the sherman s demo and my own, so I am pretty familiar with how it feels and some how it feels stiffer on the patton
👍 keeping it wheel ✌️
Begode Extreme. Let the battle begin.
Begode already won.
Another great video man. Question what kind of helmet are you wearing?
the edge hurts my calves, needs to be rounded or padded.
instant speed, really easy to turn, I got the street tires, it corners really nice. the foot grabbers take getting used to, I fell over trying to get off it once.
Great info as always ...
Looks like to me veteran Sherman actually did another good job, well done veteran Sherman.
16:04 Yea its not 30% faster then a V11, but 50% faster. also has 46% more battery plus metal structure and way better suspension... I hate the prices just as much, but they have their reasons.
For me it worths to upgrade V11 to Sherman S rather than Patton. Same range as V11 :/
@@mikelo9006 yea no don't get me wrong, I'm not a fan of the Patton, i just find is funny that hsaing got his % so wrong in his video
V11 max out at 34/5mph so the Patton is actually exactly 30% faster at 45/6mph! but I know everybody will have a different calculation when they compare prices so
@@OWGAC yes the V11 has 55kmh at full battery, but normal riding is more like 45 to 50kmh. Patton seems fine at 75kmh for longer, so 50% more speed.
I’m wanting this but a longer range.
I kinda agree with you but, it would be heavier and more expensive, probably not a lot of people would be willing to deal with that
How's this feels off-road compared to the s22 pro? Which is king?
I haven’t ridden the S22 Pro but Patton I am sure, you need torque for off-road, unless you are downhill only, in which case maaay be the s22
Got the SS... thinking i should have waited for this.. 😂
Hey Hsiang. Any idea when you will be reviewing the A2? Please make sure you get it really soaked to check their waterproofing claims.
Have you measured Patton's 16" circumference? There is an opinion that it is longer than 18" KS-18L )))
it is 17.5" in diameter, exactly the same size as a "16" inmotion V12 and Begode V4
KS 18L rim is 14", Patton 12"
Interesting that you call this the best offroad suspension. Do you prefer it to the S22 Pro even with the much shorter travel? How do they compare?
Its more nimble and is great for hill climb, if you want high speed down hill or jumps I can see the s22 being a better choice
Dope vid as always. Question, where'd you get that hoodie and the black and white speckled jacket? Those are Tough!
Great review 👍
Which pads are you using on the Patton ?
I believe he said that they are stock pads.
it's the North Pad, I think the started selling them but I don't have a link
Great review
Your the man!!!
The bar in front of the charging port kind of protects the charging board.
My answer is always how much do most E-bikes cost that are worth having with comparible suspension? Cool I can go faster and have more fun doing it 😂
I've only ever riden the Begode Master so idk how to feel about this wheel. I don't care about offroading much but I know some people do.
I love it very much and thank you very much !
I want one, but range is king, I’ll stick with my Max.
I think this wheel is a winner, I wonder if I could get a good trade in on my 16X :-) Foot plates suck though.
Still happy with my 16x but I wouldn't expect a good trade in..
Hsiang how are the new UL requirements for ebikes affecting the EUC’s?
I really should make a video about this, but in short; it's not because it's next to impossible to enforce, how would anyone even check?
Hey just an idea. I'm 6'8" and 330 pounds. How does a heavyweight get a starter EUC without just buying the most expensive EUC? What are the cheap heavyweight options?
Still don't have a wheel yet but was pretty much sold on the V11... But the Patton really seems to be the one to get! ❤
Still wish they would revisit the Abrams & make a Abrams Max, would have been a perfect cruiser wheel for us big boys.
Haven't looked if they changed but my trust is now in Veteran owning both brands and having to heavily modify my Tesla to make it "safe and water proof-ish")
As of now i would like to try a v12 or v13 (v13 expensive though).
I'm getting about 35 miles of range out of my V12HS with the way I ride. How do you think that would translate to the Patton/S22?
It's only $1,000 on the e wheels site for the 62lb suspension and considering iv never even been close to 175lbs I think that's a very good deal
$1000 deposit, pay another $2000 to purchase and have it shipped to you
@@vprch no because the website ewheels says like 200 for shipping
But $3100 is better than $4200! If not jumping the wheel or riding stairs is the difference between the S and the Patton worth $1000?
There is also range
@@weberito my V8F can last longer than me.
if not jumping, even Shermax should be better
Still can’t make up my mind on whether to get the Patton or the Sherman S… I’m coming from a V12 HT.
@@benjohngf same! Love the Patton but for me range is the contributing factor to my decision... Sherman S it is! I would love to have both and probably will eventually but often run out of range on V12 fairly easily
The fact that they named their product after a tank notorious for catching fire is amusing.
LOL I have to look that up, you know your tanks!
@@OWGAC just watched too much old school history channel. 🤣
Thanks!!! 👍🤝
Didn't hear it mentioned in the video but how much do you weight Hsiang? Just to get a full picture on your range estimates
don't you know it's rude to ask a boy his weight? LOL I am about 190 fully geared
Oh, not bad.., I figured you a little pudgier.😂😂😂❤
I liked your comparison to the s22 range is the same. S22 more stable at high speed, but lack the torque. I off-road a s22 every day, I find it good for street and off-road tbh. Lacks range but is light. Btw your off-road game is weak lol😂😂. Thanks for the review.
Lol there's not a lot of offroad trails here so yeah I suck =D
@OWGAC hehe, it's ok. Just send that over to Dirt Surfer and let the mountain be the test. After all, it is marketed as an off-road wheel 😀
I live in New York and met a couple people that know you. How can I come ride with you?... One of the guys mentioned that you're always at HQ?... is that at Tompkins Park?
