Albert was in rare form. The amount of info shared by him was extremely helpful. I agree that your tear downs are not only helpful to us, but also the manufacturers. Is Albert a engineer, or a curious enthusiast? Thanks
@@2cells1pack Albert, how do you know so much about this wheel at such an early stage? did you go to the factory to learn from their team or did you just reverse engineered the whole thing?
Glad to see that the bearing seals are working so well. The ecodrift teardown had me reluctant to get a 1st batch Patton. This teardown looks very promising! Thanks for the great content! Shot out to Albert and his channel too.
Bearing seals on new wheels all look great. As of right now, Im most excited by the A2 - really want to tear it down and see what they've done differently.
@2cells1pack. naw, similar weight as the s22, it trails well. A little bit of weight is good for stability. Initially I didn't like the idea of the s22 weight, but I think it's a good place. I have been on a v13 and tbh it's weight a little awkward, but the narrowness makes it worse, thought it was a wobbly mess.
it seems like a lot of thought went into this wheel which is really good to see! tire changes would suck though also i would love to know for all of the future wheel reviews or tear downs at what amount of amps or power draw does the wheel beep from acceleration so i could compare what eucs can accelerate the best
I wish they would use split rims, would make tyre changes so much easier. Especially on a 16" changing the tyre can be harder than getting the motor out to change it
To touch on the Commander Pro subject. so far out of the new wheels I have seen the least amount of complaints or things going wrong with the CP. I have been paying attention too. Patton is going to be a very popular wheel I think.
Yo D Vo I like the new name! @ConsilienceDVO Good thing I could recognize the thumbnail. Never been a better time to ride I'm stoked about the EUC future!
I don't think it's been out long enough, or ubiquitous enough for issues to rear its head. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the wheel. But to be fair - I can foresee some issues.
Great video! Please, I need to know the correct place of the shorter screws! There are 4 shortest screws, 8 short screws and the others have the same size. Could anyone tell me the correct place of the 4 screws and the 8 screws? Thank you!
I’m 95lbs and I used to ride the Begode Master. So comparing to riding the Master (79lbs), the Patton (86lbs) actually feels lighter when riding. - Christine
amazing content. so do you think it would be a waste to put a street tire on this wheel? i mostly ride road surfaces. thinking to try a bit of off road stuff too but def won't be my main use
Being someone who works on my own wheels I definitely appreciate what you guys do 💯! Leaperkim put a gasket on that beast please no silicone... it took me 2 hours to get the top cover that's covering the board off...that really made the tire change suck! Had I not been so patient, it could of broken easily.
love the specs and the look of this wheel but I don't want to be stuck with the extreme hassle of tire changes and shock maintenance. these machines need to be aggressively re-engineered from the bottom up for simplicity.
the bearing fitment looks a bit uncommon, usually the axle should be a slide fit(+0.01mm), the side cover should be press fit(-0.03mm), so when you change the bearing there is no claw tool required, just hammer it out from the side cover
Yeah. The Sherman S and Patton are the first wheel I've seen that the bearings get so stuck and hard to put on the axle. Usually it's fit very snug on the side motor covers. However, I prefer this fit to the loose fitting nature on the KingSong.
Great vid, wow all those screws omg! Patton is an odd duck for me, weight is higher than I would like for a dedicated trail wheel, wheel is size is smaller than I would like for a street cruiser. Not a good fit for me I think.
I disagree on the fork air vs coil point, mountain bike companies have perfectly reliable, fantastically performing air forks. I myself have run air forks without any reliability issues for years. Air forks and suspension is proven on the world cup circuit for downhill, enduro, and XC, in addition to long term testing.
CP is a killer wheel. Every wheel have weakness. “Boycotting” the CP for the reason you mentioned seem like a hate move, so you clearly started hating first 😅
Lol, we’re not boycotting the CP. We made a business decision to not carry it for many different reasons. One of the many reasons is we had to highly discount the Extreme Bull Commander down to our cost just to move them. People weren’t buying them. That’s just one of many factors.
eevee teardown became the staple of euc teardown. ❤
Love hearing Albert's take, more Albert!

Haha, a little engineer by education, curious enthusiast mainly :p -Albert

Re 13:35 squeaking - what’s the remedy? Do you just leave it alone?
This video is really incredible, thank you for the quality of your work and your commitment to the community 😁👊👊
I like that it's a specifically made wheel for trails. You don't need speed on trails, need torque and handling.
The only small issue is the weight, I wish It was a bit lighter, and maybe also a bit narrower.

@@dirt.surfer Doesn't Patton weight 20 lbs more than S22?

True that!
I'm not sure I'd want a split rim. After some practice - tire changes aren't so bad.

14:48 how did they open the motor lid?
Can someone explain?
i love the teardown videos you guys do to see build qc
Great to see teardowns.. but you include stator dimensions for every wheel as real power potential is closely related to stator dimensions..
Great video! Please, I need to know the correct place of the shorter screws! There are 4 shortest screws, 8 short screws and the others have the same size. Could anyone tell me the correct place of the 4 screws and the 8 screws? Thank you!
You definetly lucky to open motor lid so "easy".. mine was stuck as hell
Curious to find out how heavy it feels when riding.

Come take it for a spin!
So jacked to see the teardown of the patton i didnt win😅!!!

What type of bit do you use for the screws? Specifically the control board cover

Yeah, silicone is definitely not the ideal solution that manufacturers should rely on.

You don't need to take off the controller cover to remove the tire. You only need to remove the top plastic cover, left battery box, and suspension.

Is this wheel worth it for high speed (never offroad) riding enjoyers? Has to be at least constant 85kmh no beeps
I have the Patton and no if you're going 80+ go for the V13
Best ending ever.

_(give em hell bradley! keep the tear downs & constructive criticism coming!)_
I immediately trust this man's credibility
A tire change is going to be an absolute pain in the ass on this thing.
They said they broke down more than was needed for a tire change.

I actually prefer air forks due to their adaptability.
Some manufacturers go back and improve the problems. Some just release a new wheel lol
🤣
What is that smell Patton??
ee❤ees!!

Patton wins the stinkiest wheel award 😅
I really hope my tire lasts a lifetime 😬
"I don't know why you'd want to remove the kickstand"... *cough*you have a tiny sports car Frunk*cough*
I was very confused in the moment - why anyone would want to ... And then I watched the video and all the context appeared.
Just wanted to leave the first comment...
God it's so fkin boxy. Also, please don't spend half the runtime of a teardown talking about another wheel.
Not a true sherman without the range imo
That's why they call it a Patton and not a Sherman ;)
