I'm so sorry for your pain and discomfort. Sending healing prayers your way. Yes, you do forget what pregnancy is like, and you also forget what it's like to be up half the night with a newborn. But one smile from that little angel and everything is forgotten.

I totally understand your pain! I've had broken ribs before so I know how bad that or muscle injury there hurts. Yes, coughing, sneezing--agony! And for me when driving, turning the steering wheel. And now I'm experiencing sciatica--another 9/10 pain level. I am so sorry you are having all this hit you. Truly rough plus pregnancy. But that bump is growing!! Best wishes!

I love your recaps. You’re so real which I really appreciate! I’m SO sorry about your ribs. That sucks!! What you said about not wanting another kid, I feel that very much right now. I also always wanted at least two kids but now I’m not so sure. Not that my pregnancy was bad, but i had a third degree tear during my delivery and I got postpartum depression and PTSD as a result. I’m still not fully healed 4 months later. I have to go to pelvic floor rehabilitation and I’m in therapy and I just started taking Lexapro. It’s been nonstop issues since I gave birth. BUT my baby is perfect and healthy and SO worth it. Everyone tells me I’ll forget all this pain in a couple years and I’ll want another baby, but to be honest I’m not banking on it. And there’s no shame at all in just having one child! It’s all about being a healthy mama for our baby!

    * I also had a emergency C-section with my 1st and honestly it wasn't THAT bad. Took about 2wks and I healed quickly. And since I had her Jan2020 my doctors recommend I get a scheduled C-section this time so I'm actually quite excited for it and my next appointment which is in 2days I will know my C-section date.

No regrets on spending the $$ it was well worth it for the comfort factor. I could never get comfortable with the huge pregnancy pillows. Try a chiropractor for your rib pain. I’ve had similar pain before I was pregnant and a rib was out of place after I had a sinus infection from all the sneezing and coughing. Also.... Sara. I am not one of those women who "forgot" the pain of pregnancy and (especially) labor and delivery immediately following my daughter's birth. Not even years later. lol. I was 17 and in high school when I had Sarah (like you, only with the 'h'!) and she was "sunny-side up" (or face up) and she got stuck under my pubic bone. I had 20 hours of labor and then FOUR HOURS of pushing. They finally did an episiotomy AFTER I tore (4th degree tear into my rectum) and then had to use vacuum suction AND forceps to get her out. Her HR dipped down to 40 beats a minute and she was not recovering well at all - she was born grey and flaccid and not crying at all. They had to resuscitate her and her head was so misshapen and it was black and blue with bruising. It was 1986 and I was in a small town in BC, Canada, and they didn't do C-sections in my small town, so there was no choice but to deliver her! I also had NO pain medicine at all. No epidural - not even a Tylenol. None of the nurses offered pain medication to me and I didn't think to even ask them. So nope. I didn't forget. I went on to have three more children 15 years, 17 years, and 19 years after I had Sarah. Two without pain meds and two with epidurals.

Keep in mind: This was 1986, small town, narrow minded staff AND they didn't have the ability to do C-sections! This type of birth wouldn't happen nowadays at ALL so please do not worry! It sounds like you're in fantastic hands with both a midwife AND an OB. It's going to be a breeze and you'll be so happy! My other three births were fine, by the way, and my last one was also without pain medication. She came very quickly (2-minute second stage and a 15 min. from 5 cm to complete!). Perhaps you must see a chiropractor on a regular bases for all of your strained muscle pain, think they must have dealt with a wide range of conditions - also during pregnancy.

Poor girl you have really been through it this last month. Really sucks there is nothing much you can take for the pain during pregnancy ... however there are a couple things you CAN do for the pain though and you may find they are very helpful as your pregnancy progresses. Of course make sure you run anything new by your OB/Midwife
Arnica Gel (like Arnicare you can find it at Whole Foods, Amazon etc.)
Prenatal Massage (from a trained professional)
    Hot/Cold Compresses
    Prenatal Yoga
Chiropractic Adjustments (some women need them more often than others during pregnancy)
Acupuncture - super amazing especially for the pain you are having.
Belly Bandit (aka support band lots of brands) might help to have one now to wear and give a bit of support while you heal.
when all else fails a warm bath & fuzzy socks 😊
Hopefully you will be feeling better by your next update!!

Wow Jennifer what a great comprehensive list of options to help with the pain! I have some arnica gel so I can try that and I have my next chiropractor appointment coming up soon so hopefully he can help too but I will definitely look into all your other suggestions too! I really appreciate the time and care you took to share these with me 🥰🥰🥰
