Tzn Jeżdżę samochodem od kilku miesięcy i ten błąd się pojawia co któryś raz po uruchomieniu samochodu, ale mechanicznie nie czułem nigdy żadnych problemów z DTSC ani z ABS-em. Hang on before you run off and spend hundreds of £ or $ on sensors or a steering wheel position module, I have fixed this problem using logic and a tyre pump. Cost: Zero. The way I think it works is that the steering wheel module monitors its position, logically, and The Computer That Must Be Obeyed (even when it is wrong) sees ABS pulses from one wheel coming at a different frequency to those from the other wheel on the same axle. Thus if one tyre is a lower pressure than the other, it will be revolving faster because its diameter is less. Having had this thought I went and checked my tyre pressures - 31 on one side and 25 on the other.(I have had the wheels sand blasted, powder coated and new tyres. Obviously there is a small leak on the tyre bead that went down. I equalised both tyres to 31, went for a long drive including several full lock turns, and the message has disappeared.
Hello, thanks for the comment! The SAS sensor only looks at the direction of the steering wheel, independent of the tire. Before I replaced it, I checked with vida and it seemed that the signal was interrupted.

This is only one possible cause of the "anti-skid service required" message. The yaw sensor could be faulty as mentioned in other comments. A faulty yaw sensor is usually caused by water ingress paricularly on vehicles with a sunroof. On my own XC90 it was the DEM not communicating with the ABS & CEM modules according to the error codes it produced. My DEM was beyond repair so I ended up having to get a reconditioned DEM and it cured my problem.

Something very important he did not mention: You must drain the capacitors before disconnecting the harnesses on the back of the air bag. Serious injury could occur if the bag goes off from even the slightest static charge.
I am ready to do it myself with the SAS but somewhat stuck at your mentioning over the slightest static charge and possible blowing off the Airbag. Could you briefly disclose how to discharge before disconnecting the Airbag?
Definitely don't do that! Start by letting the caps drain for a good few hours after taking the battery cable off. I know you don't "have" to wait that long, but I highly recommend it.

@@ericosterlund No, didn't go into limp home mode. I just got 'Anti-skid service required' message and a thump coming from the rear like hitting a pot hole. I removed the AOC (active on demand coupling) fuse in the boot till I could service the Haldex AOC unit. I found there was no oil in the Haldex and that had caused the DEM (Differential Electronic Module) on the Haldex to burn out. I fitted a new filter and oil and a second hand DEM and everything was fine.

Hi, did you find the problem? I had power loss and ABS service light. Garage cleaned all fuel injector connections because they where giving fault. Car was fine for few days and now Anti Skid service light and car shaking. V50 1.6
@@arturskluns7964 been dealing with this for a few days now. I tried a junkyard swm but now vida is saying no communication. Because of the way CANbus works, the swm could cause a lot of problems. The termination resistor is in that module and if that resistor is bad it could cause problems with any other nodes on that CAN bus

Vidával meg lehet nézni amúgy, hogy biztosan ez az egység rossz-e. (Lehet ABS hiba is, de ez a gyakoribb.) Ha keresgélsz utána akkor amúgy olcsóbban is be lehet szerezni ezt az egységet. I watched the same online bullshit with this clip and it did not work for me as well. There are 1-1 holes on the side of the st-wheel. unscrew the bolts and the airbag comes out. Everyone shows this clip thing. My 2003 XC70 has bolts and it has nothing to do with clips like everyone says. Dont always trust the BS youtube.
@@civicaerodeck14 It all depends on what steering wheel you have, the older 4-spoke ones have bolt/screws but the newer/s60 3-spoke wheels have spring clips that you just push with a screwdriver
Razgriz Fllaga I am sorry to hear that. I will send my SAS for repair. I get Yaw sensor and SAS fault codes. I was lucky enough to get advice not to change Yaw sensor before I fix/change SAS. I can share my experience later if it’s still relevant for you
Update of my situation. The repair of my SAS was done. 110,00€ with shipments both ways and 2 year warranty for job. Unfortunately this did not solve my main issue :/ I get same errors as previous, but now I checked them with Vida and they all come from BCM (brake control module). My advice- before buying all expensive stuff make scan and do fault tracing consistently. Hope you find this useful.

Sz M awesome tutorial. I have the same issue. SAS-0007 and SAS-000E error. Steering angle frozen at start up (The headlight points to the frozen angle unless bending light is disabled). One more thing to check is the rubber stop inside the wheel. When worn out it allows steering wheel to go beyond 2.5 turn and damage SAS again.

same happened to us, took it to the garage and they said there were just a bunch of error messages clogging up the CPU - they cleared it and the issue went away...
@@travonmiller5279 unfortunately no. It stayed cleared for about 10-12months the first time it happened. Unfortunately for us, it began doing it again last summer and after taking it to the garage again for the same thing, it was back to the same error message later the same day. It was ultimately a faulty CPU which we attempted to have repaired by a 3rd party but they said it would have to be sent back to Volvo manufacturing to be completely replaced... estimated to be over £1,500 for the work... vehicle wasn't worth it with over 120k miles so we scrapped it.

It’s been awhile since you discovered tire pressures being a cause of anti skid required…did the tire air pressure REALLY fix it?!

Just short across those two connectors(Purple and Green) with any screw driver before disconnecting it?

There are a number of reasons for the anti skid message, in my case it was the haldex awd controller that went bad.

I just got 'Anti-skid service required' message and a thump coming from the rear like hitting a pot hole.

Don't use excessive force! Most likely there it is still being held on by a screw that you may have missed.
I watched the same online bullshit with this clip and it did not work for me as well. There are 1-1 holes on the side of the st-wheel. unscrew the bolts and the airbag comes out. Everyone shows this clip thing. My 2003 XC70 has bolts and it has nothing to do with clips like everyone says. Dont always trust the BS youtube.
@@civicaerodeck14 It all depends on what steering wheel you have, the older 4-spoke ones have bolt/screws but the newer/s60 3-spoke wheels have spring clips that you just push with a screwdriver

what error code did you get on the vida to warrant this change? i just bought a yaw rate sensor and the anti skid came back. very dissapointed.
Razgriz Fllaga I am sorry to hear that. I will send my SAS for repair. I get Yaw sensor and SAS fault codes. I was lucky enough to get advice not to change Yaw sensor before I fix/change SAS. I can share my experience later if it’s still relevant for you

Update of my situation. The repair of my SAS was done. 110,00€ with shipments both ways and 2 year warranty for job. Unfortunately this did not solve my main issue :/ I get same errors as previous, but now I checked them with Vida and they all come from BCM (brake control module). My advice- before buying all expensive stuff make scan and do fault tracing consistently. Hope you find this useful.

Jason Carlson I ran a diagnostic in Vida. (You can running test on this module.) By the way, this is typical failure.
Sz M awesome tutorial. I have the same issue. SAS-0007 and SAS-000E error. Steering angle frozen at start up (The headlight points to the frozen angle unless bending light is disabled). One more thing to check is the rubber stop inside the wheel. When worn out it allows steering wheel to go beyond 2.5 turn and damage SAS again.

same happened to us, took it to the garage and they said there were just a bunch of error messages clogging up the CPU - they cleared it and the issue went away...

@@travonmiller5279 unfortunately no. It stayed cleared for about 10-12months the first time it happened. Unfortunately for us, it began doing it again last summer and after taking it to the garage again for the same thing, it was back to the same error message later the same day. It was ultimately a faulty CPU which we attempted to have repaired by a 3rd party but they said it would have to be sent back to Volvo manufacturing to be completely replaced... estimated to be over £1,500 for the work... vehicle wasn't worth it with over 120k miles so we scrapped it.
