They're supposed to be in Fishman Island. An underwater landmark in One Piece where humans and sea creatures are able to live together. But you can only do so much with limited resources. ^^;

Coming here after SpongeBob vs Aquaman’s Death Battle, and thinking about how this would’ve gone had the unraveling the universe feat was around.
Actually, if Spongebob had fought Smarter than Harder then he would've actually won. Case in point: if he had used the paper to simply write Sanji out of existence or used the pencil to rub off Sanji's legs and arms instead of just drawing throughout the whole experience.
I would say spongebob would win since he can unravel an entire universe. He doesn't take damage to physical attacks. And he didn't have to use the magic paper to make him self into that super hero form. He could've wished to erase Vinsmoke.
But this is an in character and more realistic. Hence the magic pencil part.

I'm writing a series of short "battles" between eastern anime and manga characters, and western comic book and cartoon characters. The match-up I had for Spongebob was him fighting Accelerator from A Certain Magical Index, and I planned to make it funny because Accelerator, despite his stupidly broken ability, wouldn't have much luck against someone like Spongebob, who can soak up punches like, well, a sponge. And then I thought it'd be a good idea to have Spongebob fight Saitama, just for the absurdity of it, Spongebob tanking Saitama's punches just like he did Bubblebass. Plus the whole Yellow/Red/White color scheme Spongebob and Saitama have going.
But Spongebob vs Sanji just makes so much damned sense, I have to commend you. I never would've considered it because I don't watch or read One Piece, and I don't know much about Sanji's fighting style. But the idea of a kick-based fighter fighting a karate-practicing talking sponge and both being talented cooks?
Goddamn. I sincerely wish I'd thought of that first.

Spongebob has new feats that Sanji can't compete as of 2022... so probably can you do a rematch of this... cause realistically Sanji CAN'T hurt Spongebob in anyway he ABSROBS every attack, he can't feel pain, and if he did get vaporized he just reforms himself to ONE PIECE. SB even has his magic pencil he can surely just oneshot Sanji by erasing him. Heck SB even shows some Universal feats before or Outerversal feats before. His string feat and his ability to CHANGE HIS OWN STORY in the comic book. This did need a rematch man. I don't think an ANIME CHARACTER can even beat a TOON CHARACTER cause thier rules physiology are different one follows the real world the other follows nothing or breaks it.

I could see this going in Sanji's favor. Yes, Spongebob is a power house, and is definitely able to beat some of the toughest characters in his universe, bit Sanji has displayed better. Being a sponge, our pal SB had plenty of advantages, like rapid regeneration, shape-shifting, and regrowing from limbs. Sanji, however, is fast enough to outpace Spongebob's regeneration. Also note that Sanji's Diamble Jambe's fire is so hot, it burns even underwater. That's more than enough to burn a hole through Spongebob, who's always had trouble with fire and explosions. Not to mention, Sanji's reaction time is faster than Spongebob, making all of his attacks seem meaninless, even with the magic pencil. It was just a matter of time before the Straw Hat Chief finished off the Frycook Sponge. Our winner is Sanji

That battle was so fun! One thing, though; not to sound rude or anything, but more of Spongebob's moves could've been of good use in this battle, such as the Cruise Bubble from BFBB, the Sand Slap from CFTKK, and the Quickster form from the TV series. These would be of good usage in the future.
