One more little tidbit about Spongebob: Neptune, Roman god of the sea, dubbed him the god of fast food. Spongebob, ever humble, decided not to live in Atlantis or flaunt his title... but we never saw him renounce it or pass it to another, either. Technically, Spongebob is still the Roman god of fry cooking.

Well we saw him use his powers to transport neptune to the Krusty Krab to be his apprentice. He may have renounced his God powers because it's implied that he can't be a God on the mortal plane. Once he's a God he has to ascend. So we can assume that he renounced it.

Not gonna lie that line was ironically badass and the end is heartbreaking
and the fact that he turns into this badass goofy goober wizard and neg diffs all of plankton's chum bucket-head minions (including king neptune) by shooting laser beams from his guitar makes it even more badass.

I really respect SpongeBob for his understanding and for understanding how aqua man felt, I thought that was actually a touching moment for a death battle, rarely you see opponents really having a wholesome dialogue about being ready for the day no matter what ppl say or think about you, that’s a message anyone can take….even future Aqua Man 😂

Totally Spies was an early 2000’s cartoon that had three girls who were super spies, and had a lot of… let’s just say interesting things happen to the girls. It’s not exactly what I or some of the internet would consider child appropriate.

This might have been a death sentence for Aquaman, but these characters were wholesome until the end and I love that.
The fact that spongebob put #1 on the Aquaman's grave (even though he misspelled his name) is really heart wrenching.

You'd need something with more powerful pataphysical abilities, on a large-scale/instinctual level, or raw power that operates on a multiversal rather than universal level. Or a higher narrative tier.

You know the scariest part?
This is perfectly in character for Spongebob. Check out the episode with Krab's nickle when he strangled his own boss in frustration, or the one when he held up Krabs and Plankton with a Tartar Sauce gun, or the time he absorbed a tub of water then fired it at Gary in an attempt to clean him, destroying his furniture in the process, or even the time he caused a the equivalent of a nuclear explosion to get a smudge off a plate.
When push comes to shove, the Sponge will go all out to get something done, and while I doubt he'd ever intentionally try to kill someone, going nuts for an instant and getting someone killed is more than possible provided you don't have G-rating protecting you.
I like how instead of the usual "it's time for a death battle" it's "it's time for aquamans funeral"

I'm a much bigger fan of Michael, but have to assume Jason will win this. Michael's supernatural is heavily implied but Jason has straight-up come back from the dead multiple times, has some sort of teleportation, and if you DO finally manage to kill him he'll just hop into another body (thanks for that one Jason 9). Michael appears unkillable but then dies anyway. The most supernatural-leaning of his continuities (the Thorn trilogy) also kinda undermined him as just like this enforcer for this cult (maybe, I don't remember Halloween 6 too well because it was even worse than Jason 9). At his most unkillable, Michael has been killed and rebooted, whereas Jason always comes back, no reboots.

Wiz's slow descent into madness as he realizes just how OP Spongebob is, is probably the best thing in this shows history. Also, just to make sure we're all on the same page here, never let a toon force fight a character without toon force, that's not even a stomp it's a god damn annihilation.
Cartoon logic just breaks powerscaling as it makes someone who is seemingly weak be completely op.

Lmao that outlier ass "feat" that was just for laughs versus the hundreds of times Spongebob was dazed, wounded, injured, on the brink of death, and knocked unconscious and somehow people are wanking him to the enth degree. I advocate for Spongebob more than anyone, but this bandwagoning of him being universal is absolutely ridiculous and stupid. His grounded consistent feats put him at multi-city block level with FTL reaction time. He's not 36 btw, he's 14 or around 18, that license was set in the year 2000 and expires in 2003.

That moment when you realize Death Battle followed up one of the biggest atrocities mankind has ever committed with an actual cinematic masterpiece
Out of all the death battle we have so far, this is the one where even Death Battle realise how much of a curbstomp this was. Let's be honest, Spongebob greatest feat here isn't that he can unravel the universe in seconds, his greatest feat is his heart of gold. Encouraging Aquaman and even made a 1# tombstone for him even tho Aquaman tried to kill him.
Eh, Spongebob unraveling the universe wasn't really a feat for Spongebob. He found a frayed thread of the universe like on a sweater. @@himikox213 Spongebob can't just pull-out universal feats on command though. He didn't find the string because he has the power to destroy the universe. He just found the string because its a silly cartoon thing to happen. Making Spongebob a universe buster off of this feat just doesn't work for me.
Even though the string wasn't his power, it would still require a lot of strength/speed in order to peel off the universe
it's nice to see the winner actually care about the opponent and even make a gravestone for him
well death battle victors aren't always A holes to each other hell guy had nothing but respect for all might, storm actually complemented korra for her battle prowess and Johnathan regretted killing tanjiro to the point of crying (and according to death battle he even adopted nezeku as a way of apologizing)

Not gonna lie, that final shot of a dying Aqua man trying to comfort SpongeBob and saying let’s be super friends, honestly makes it pretty sad. And SpongeBob giving him a proper tombstone, because at the end of the day, that’s what SpongeBob does, a friend to even his enemies.

Something interesting I found around the Bikini Atoll theory
So people like to disregard the theory due to the fact that we see a definitive past for Bikini Bottom and its characters far beyond where nuclear bombs would've been invented (sometime in the B.C era and sometime in the 12th century respectively)
However, some people have an interesting retrospective on that. That being we're seeing THEIR timeline. So as soon as the nukes were detonated in Bikini Atoll, the bikini bottom caveman era starts and evolves over the next hundred years
People also claiming that we dont actually get a definitive time for our B.C, theirs instead being "Before Comedy". And while we do get a time for a mention of the 12th century in the medieval episode, it could be assumed that it took them less time to evolve.
Not sure if I completely agree with the theory, but then again I dont completely agree with the Bikini Atoll theory either.

Had to be the funniest death battle I’ve ever seen. This is straight up Aquaman’s funeral even before it began 🤣
Keep in mind SpongeBob does all of this speed feats underwater, meaning if he were on land, his speed feat with the string can and will quadruple in numbers.
I remember when these battles were just cheap, old school Mortal Kombat fights with no dialogue until one combatant died. Now they've incorporated, not just dialogue, but also multiple styles of animation and sometimes even a story with irony and really incredible chemistry between the two opponents. It truly is astounding how far this show has come

Yeah Aquaman knew he was going to die, he knew how horrible mismatched he was. This is the most biggest stomp in DB history. Goku Versus Superman 2 is right behind it. Because you could at least make an argument that Goku could IT Supes to a red sun. This one has no excuse. If you have an excuse its just trolling and a shoddy one at that.

I almost cried watching the ending of this, these two characters are some of the most wholesome characters there is, but some people take them for granted.
