Fighting Superman 1 on 1 is itself proves the credibility of being far more superior then avengers at time. In the later part of Arthur's life he learns his dependency on water is also his strength as it literally heals wounds like amputed arms in matter of minutes. And superman himself realises fighting Aquaman in Ocean is clearly bad choice. Thus nemor was just warm-up for him

One thing that doesn't get talked about enough is that Aquaman's fish can be supernaturally strong. I mean, do you know how buff a shark has to be to bite through green lantern light constructs?

Blame Superfriends, late 1970s/early 1980s. Poor Aquaman couldn't do much but talk to cartoon dolphins and perform the occasional water rescue thanks to the idiotic no violence code in cartoons at the time. Unfortunately, that impression of him has remained until recently.

I enjoyed Jason Momoa as Aquaman. I'm not a fan of ethnicity-swapping characters, but Arthur Curry being of Islander descent makes a lot sense. It's a cool idea and the cast the perfect guy for the role.

I pretty much understand DC now. Due to having Superman in your fictional universe, you have to scale up ALL your characters in order for them to seem relevant and maintain a fanbase. Even Batman has to pull off IMPOSSIBLE feats once in a while, when he's in proximity to Superman.

Namor was created at the same time as Captain America.
He was allied with him during the WW2 "Timely Comics" era and was in a team with Captain America and the original Human Torch (Who was actually a robot and not Johnny Storm)
So this explains the silly little ankle wings.
DC had more than enough silly design choices for their characters, from the same era, but DC at least altered them over the decades so they are not as silly. For some reason Marvel kept Namor's ankle wings.

@@alexallred3930 Being able to acquire anything from the multiverse means bullcrap if he can't use it competently or the item itself is restricted, like a wizard wand or a chosen one's power mcguffin. Also, personality and disposition are also factors, Boomstick tends to have a lackdaisical approach to destructive items, and many times any damage he causes is because of an accident. Wiz makes things on purpose and tends to be uncaring if it results in people hurt, much more amoral. And there is no reason to believe that Wiz doesn't collect any items he comes across, while Boomstick would just forget or not care for them if they aren't of his personal taste, and since they have been doing this for quite a while, that stockpile should be quite vast.
Which raises the question of how many items has Wiz collected after Boomstick left them lying around on the coffee table.

My FAVORITE advantage Aquaman had over Namor is that he can make his underwater friends physically stronger with the clear while Namor was stuck commanding plain old everyday fish

Even though he is supposed to be king of a foreign kingdom with its own culture and whatnot, I always imagined Aquaman’s demeanor and attitude to be like some Californian surfer dude. It pleases me that this trend is being normalized.
I have to agree. Unlike Namor, Arthur didn't have a childhood of royal care or even with his own people; didn't even know he was a prince until his mother finally returned and told him so. Makes sense that he'd be a more lax and casual guy under the disciplined-ruler guise.

I am not ashamed to admit that I was wrong about Aquaman he was pretty amazing and that one liner was cool "dinner is on the king tonight." That was awesome
He WAS a total joke of a character more or less. It wasn't until only about 15 years ago or so that he got the cooler and much more darker story arcs. Before that he was super lame. But once they started him down that much cooler path, he was amazingly badass. Basically they rebooted him into an interesting character by giving him a much needed makeover coupled with some awesome storylines
