Question of the day 💡What is the best camera for you? Let me know! FREE ON-DEMAND CLASS 🎯 Learn 3 Secrets for Growing Your RUclips Channel in 2022 👉 ThinkMasterclass.com
Hi could you do a video about how to edit your video's? Like how to put your face in the corner of you want to show your face or how you do AI of you don't want to show your face. Thank you
I love my Dinosaur, The IMAX MSM 9802. Well not really mine (company own but I’m the one in charge of it) Screw all those tiny little digital, funny looking, dumbed down sensor! Lol
*Welp I have the Sony ZV-1 did a review and a BUNCH of Videos on this Camera and I've got the a6400 BUT I'll be replacing the a6400 with the new FX30 because it's a APS-C Sensor and I don't have to change lens since the a6400 IS an APS-C Camera. But My FIRST ACTUAL camera not Point n Shoot was the Panasonic G7 and then bought the G85 as both were AMAZING camera's did reviews on those also but yeah When I first subbed to Think Media at the time you guys ran with the G7 which I then bought and had for 2yrs before switching to Sony. Also I was wondering are you Guys Going to be Attending Vidcon this year?*
I just got monetized (liked I promised you I would) and I’m still using my iPhone 14 pro max. I would like a second camera at some point, but until I actually start making money, I’m working with what I have.
I know someone making $100k a month on youtube using his Samsung Galaxy to video and edit. The best camera is the one you have. The best content comes from ideas, personalities and stories. Don’t get caught up in cameras so much and worry more about investing in making great content with what you have.
I never cared much for 4K content but HERE’S WHY 4K MATTERS, depending on your type of content.. It’s not so you can upload 4k videos. It’s so that when you CROP in editing and ZOOM in, you’re not dipping below 1080pm full HD which is standard. If you record a 1080 video and crop in too much, you’re going BELOW 720 at that point. That was the game changer for me. For social media, I record in 4k. Edit in 4k. Then upload in 1080.
I was in the market for a 4k video camera under $1,000. Searching RUclips was not helping. Then a notification popped up from my subscribing to you. Perfect video and great info. Now I remember why I subscribed to you. You just saved me days of searching, researching. If I could donate $5 to you, I would, but I don't see a donate link. Too bad. Anyhow, thank you.
Thought I knew what I wanted.. went to a local camera store and got educated. Walked out with a used Sony a7iii for a deep bargain. Don’t overlook used options. Better videos coming soon!!
If you're recording audio separately from the video clap at the beginning of your recording so lining up the audio and video is a piece of cake. You have a distinct sound wave to line up in FCP or Premiere.
Panasonic S5II in the $2,000 range is a great choice. AF finally on par with Canon and Sony while having the superior Panasonic IBIS, codecs, color science and image processing.
HEY THIS CHANNEL ROCKS I WATCH ALL THE TIME FOR YEARS NOW. my favorite camera for youtube is actually a camcorder which i can hold in my hand easily (this channel did a video about a similar topic before, showing the camcorder is kind of awesome for youtube!), and also a pocket sized nikon with a built in zoom lens and flash. i need to upgrade both my camcorder and my nikon. the camcorder does 720 with option for high quality, medium, and low. the nikon s8100 does 1080hd widescreen for 27 minutes at a time and does 720 as well. the 720 outputs as widescreen naturally when i play back, without choosing to stretch the screen to 16:9 it is already 16:9. i have some other older cameras as well that i am finding work perfectly fine for instagram and even youtube such as the sony bloggie, sony webbie, and sony dsc-f707 for digital stills. some of the older cameras i have are maybe only good for secondary shots like typing on the keyboard while working on a project, or maybe beater cameras for tough jobs like recording mechanic videos. i am finding now that the old sony cameras that use the floppy disk can still be good for macro shots. instagram has photos that are relatively small and youtube auto plays the videos in a small easy for the internet to digest size such as 480p or 720p even if you have options for 1080hd and 1440hd etc. with some simple edits my sony dsc-f707 has torn through instagram lately. the sony floppy cameras are only a few years older than that camera so i think it will work wonders adding a couple of new cameras to my arsenal of social media tools. i plan to take photos of up close macro shots such as logos, coins, and watches to post on instagram and youtube. i got most of these cameras for cheap maybe 5$ each or 10$ each at flea markets. i have a canon rebel from a long time ago that just needs a lens and battery, i plan to upgrade to it next for digital stills. i just packed a backpack this morning with several camcorders and cameras that i do have working already. came up with 2 sony dsc-f707, 1 sony dcr-sx40, 2 sony webbie hd camcorders, 1 nikon s8100, and 5 sony bloggie hd cameras. i plan to add a nikon l20 and nikon l11 as well as the canon rebel but i am not sure if the bag will hold all of them. the canon rebel may get its own bag with multiple lenses and try to find a second rebel which is a newer model but will share the same lenses. using a newer hp laptop from walmart lately for social media it works great. i have two older laptops which would actually work great but have not used them lately. with some work i can get up to 3 laptops and two more backpacks full of older style cameras that i have not even mentioned here - lots of 35 mm for a 35mm backpack, and lots of pre-digital camcorders meaning uses tapes or etc. i think if i pair them up with the older laptops it will upload from those old cameras just fine and probably upload to social media just fine also. so that being said guys i am trying to go from beginner to intermediate level, i chose the path recently of take all of my old equipment and research how to use it best in todays world, it turns out it is all so super simple and easy. just a few adapters and cords that have funky size plugs on each end and you are good to go. most of those old technology cameras and items are actually very powerful today and are easily upgraded cheaply with cards that hold more storage etc which you will naturally find easily at the stores today very cheaply. for example 4gb of storage was a lot for my old camera. now i can buy a 32gb storage card for 13.99$ at the store 5 minutes from here. so now my old camera can record for 8 hours instead of only 1 hour. making that old technology 10 times as powerful as what was available back in the early 2000s. plus i can record on high quality instead of low quality bc i have way more storage. so i have a long way to go with my own 3 laptops, and 3 backpacks of cameras, but good luck to all the beginners out there like me!
I’m very happy with my videos and vlogs on my Canon M50 - and have just about all the lenses, including the Sigma trio. I’ll also us my iPhone 13 Pro for my videos as well - I have many options on how to approach each video. However, I have the Canon R10 on top of my list if/when I switch but I won’t do that until I master what I’m blessed with now (and certainly be able to afford, as well). Terrific video once again!
I got a super simple Canon M50 original to start (Old school now) and later on down the road used a Amazon gift card to get my Sigma lens. I didn't look into all this stuff Sean is saying but I can say this...Start with your phone and work your way up. If I had to buy a new camera today it would be the Sony ZVE10
Nice job only thing I'd change is adding the Canon r6 mkii to the list of best full frame cameras for youtube. It's been out for a couple months now. I love mine and it's super capable love the 4k 60fps no crop!! And for photography 40fps in electronic shutter! Yes 40!!! Happy New Year!
I think part of auto focus is how loud it is. I've noticed that some older cameras can be really noisy when auto focusing! Haven't played with any of the newer ones (bc they're $$$) but I would hope that it has improved. Also for mics be sure to research the type of mic. They will pick up sound in different "shapes" if you will or directions. So knowing what you need is important :) I think overall this video was really insightful and will certainly help others!
For new cameras, it really depends on the lens that you use. Some lenses are loud, but others are quiet. Just research the particular lens before you spend that $$$
Recently got the a7c to start creating videos. I know I could have saved and start with my phone, but for me it was worth the investment just for the high quality family pictures. I got shocked when I realized everything I had to buy, after I had the camera, lenses, lights, microphone,... I wasn't on a very tight budget, but my advice for anyone who's starting, if you have a good camera phon, buy the lighting and sound first. If you still have money, buy a camera.
Also the big question creators need to ask themselves is - do you NEED a camera other than your smartphone? You can spend $1,000 on a camera set up and have it look worse than your smartphone. You can spend $2,000 and have it looking mostly identical to your phone. It depends on the need. What’s your need?
Thank you for this informative video! This is (semi-officially) the second day of thinking about trying to start a RUclips channel. We are going to travel most of 2023 to Europe and Asia which is fairly adventurous given that we are novice travellers and from the corner of the world in NZ. Wish us luck and show some love! 😁
finally thank you …. someone who educates us on all of the features available in a camera and relating it to social media use; 99% of the reason most people purchasing one now a days
I’ve been using my iPhone 7+ since starting my channel two years ago and just now got a ring light, very cheap wireless microphone and gifted a tripod for the phone and it has really helped my content plus I’ve gotten better at streamlining my editing process and that has gotten smoother too. My only issue is the storage i run out of storage as my phone only has 30 gigs and i have to constantly transfer my footage to my external hard drive in the middle of recording 🥲😫😓😭 thats the main reason i want to get a newer iPhone but i gotta save for an upgrade
Frankly, I dont need camera for my channel, as I do animation and video game content. But I watch all TM videos because they very informative, so I feel now i have better understanding about cameras. thanks Sean!
Great tutorial Sean! 🙏 I am using a Cannon m50 with 22mm F2 lens, very happy with the look of my video. My only dilemma is an ever slight audio sync issue in streamyard and I suspect it is due to having to go through eos webcam utility software as there is no clean hdmi out with my cannon m50. For audio I use Shure SM7B via 2i2 and cloud lifer into my mac.
1) I used 2 cell phones to shoot and get sound + an action cam. (I do static videos with hands and face) Then the problem was two sound and three video streams to mix and sync 2) . My kids killed both my photo cameras in the past .... and shooting pics with phones has some limits you cannot avoid. I set a 400-700€ budget, then decided to add 400€ and solve all the imagery section issues with a single shot: Got the Z30Vlog + 50-250 lens 1.2K€. Pretty happy about that decision !!!
Aptly timed! I hate the idea of buying new equipment but my gopro is just not really cutting it so much and my phone is junk 😮💨. But I need something portable during my farming adventures...
This was so helpful to understand the different camera features and deciding which ones might be the best for me. Unfortunately, inflation has kicked in to high gear and the budget Canon G7X camera is now listing at $629. That's quite a jump from the $375 shown in the video.
Great list... Been loving my sony zv e10... Great for my talking head videis, andbsi easy to live stream... Love it... Found it ro be a great family vacatuin camera as well!
I love full frame, Ive been doing photography for almost two decades, Ive done a lot of events so can really appreciate low light capabilities. Still using my old D 700! LOL This is great even as old as it is so I cant imagine how much better they are now with low light. Im glad I understand light, etc already moving into video content. My phones are working for now but I know the upgrade will be more me. Im a junkie for a good piece of glass and shallow depth of field! Haha. Phones just cant do that. Id already go there but just not in the budget right now but doing homework. Great video, thanks for posting.
Excellent overview. I have the ZV-1 and EV-10. Both terrific cameras, but I can't handle teh Zv-1's focal length. Unless you use a Ulanzi super wide adapter, the ZV-1 is just not wide enough. The EV-10 with the 11mm and 18-135mm lenses should give me the focal range for almost anything I shoot, and I love the aperture on the 11mm as well. Unfortunately, the image stabilization on Sony cameras is awful and crops your image. You have to use Catalyst Browse to try and stabilize it - an imperfect solution. Gotta say, for many people starting out, I think the GoPro 11 is the best choice. 5.3K res at 8:7 aspect ratio, 10 bit video, frame rates up to 240 fps, amazing image stabilization, great sound from onboard mic, easy to use and portable. Its only shortcomings are a smaller sensor and an inability to zoom in optically. I've got lots of "better" cameras but this GP11 is the one I grab most often for convenience and really good quality.
@@noodlessoul8356 yes. This is a really good little camera wih decent built I n sound that is easy to use. Im using the gp11 as my mobile camera in Italy now and its great.
very informative 15min guide 4k (3840 xx 2160) good full frame section, and parts on audio.Keen on some of the 6k cameras incl the S5 mk II (Panasonic) Thought provoking.
Well, i got many cheap but peculiar cameras and i was looking for a new camera for my music/home studio recording then I've found my "old" Nikon D7200 it's still a beast with all modern stuffs i may require, including 60fps HD videos. It's not a 4K camera but this is not a feature i need, i am not that beauty so "less is better" for this time.
This is a great video, and I really needed this. I’m currently using my iPhone 7 on all my cooking videos, and I’m planning to buy a camera in the future. Thank you so much! 😁👏🏻
Great video as always! I've made a deal with myself - get a Sony ZV-E10 as a reward when I hit 500 subscribers and upgrade the lens as a reward for hitting 1,000 subscribers! I upgraded my terrible laptop to a Macbook when I hit 100 subs and I'm finding this reward system really helps me to gamify the whole process and make it even more fun!
It’s funny no one mentions the Canon M6 Mark II as a viable option. It’s the most underrated camera IMHO. Other than having that pesky 30-minute record limit, it’s an awesome camera. 4k 30fps with the autofocus, clean hdmi, and it’s roughly the size of the Sony a6400.
I am confused. I want to buy a mirror less camera. I was planning M50 Mark II. But after seeing so many RUclips video reviews I got kind of confused. I will record travel videos and to some extent blog. R50 is a good option but expensive in India. Z30 and ZV E10 are kind of affordable. Now;, I am not able to chose. Well, I won’t buy too many lenses also.I could make out Sony ZV E 10 is a bit complicated for beginners . My question is - how will be Nikon Z30 for my kind of work? M 50 Mark 2 - should I buy now in 2023? Or should I save a little more and buy a Canon R 50?
Hi looking for advice on a camera, here's my list I hope someone in the comments can help Budget - upto $1000 Main use - at home RUclips videos sitting down Secondary use - Vlogging capabilities for travel Capabilities - 4k Features - attach microphone for better audio (I own a yeti usb mic, also XLR and quarter inch mics) willing to buy another mic for camera Bonus - interchangeable lenses optional (perhaps I'll visit the mountains and take nature shots) Current camera - iPhone 12 Pro and recently gave away Sony a5000 which I had since 2015 Looking for 2-3 options to research before purchasing. Thanks in advance
Hi Sean, my RUclips videos are about fragrances, makeup and skincare. So my camera sit behind my desk and doesn’t move. I’m ready to upgrade my and lens if necessary. I currently have the Canon T6i and I want upgrade to the Canon 90D. Bit I Definitely my know of that’s best because I don’t hear ppl talking about it. Or should I get a Canon Mark? If so a Canon Mark Is better which one?Which one is best for my type of content? Budget is 2k
Great information! We are a new channel and shoot from an iPhone 11 and a DJI Pocket 2 that was gifted to us. I might be in the market for a new camera this year but it’ll have to be durable and reliable.
8:34 This is an issue I discovered with GoPro. Made a 30 minute video and it broke up into 10 minute segments which made editing a nightmare and resulting in me scrapping the video all together
Great video! Thank you! I'm currently using a Canon EOS M50 Mark II and recently bought the Canon 22mm F2.0 fixed lens for $179. Is it worth it for me to upgrade to the newer Canon R10?
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan The M50 Mark II shoots in 4k. The one obvious reason is the 30 minute limit, although the Canon M50 will just automatically start a new file if you go past 30 minutes so you just need to put multiple files together when you edit
@@investsmarternow Your entire library of videos average less than 15 minutes so why would a 30 minute maximum be an issue? You do talking head videos, your current setup is all that you need. Buying the latest and greatest when what you already have works doesn't seem to be "investing wisely".
@@investsmarternow it shoots in 4k with contrast focus which is practically unusable. I'm sure you have noticed?? The best thing to do is manual focus. So if you want 4k with no autofocus with a huge crop yes you have 4k.
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan Yeah I don't use or need 4k for my talking head videos. I only shoot in 1080p. The nice feature of the camera is if I do go past the limit, it just keeps recording to a new file without skipping a beat.
If I'm looking to get a camera that I need to be super super clear close up. What should I be looking for? No budget just looking for the best video quality when it's zoomed in close?
I'll have to stick to my phone for a bit longer perhaps even upgrade my current phone until I save enough to purchase a decent camera but storage has become a real issue since Google switched to a paid storage model hence I'll have to figure something out for storage, saved this video for future reference ☮️
I've been looking at cameras but I don't know if my channel is quite the size where I "need" one. I just got into using a camera for videos less than a week ago, and I've been using my iPhone 11 which seems to work fine enough for me 👍 I definitely want to upgrade as soon as I can though
I have a full frame camera for photography. It’s a Canon 5d Mark IV. I have never done much with the video - I’m a still photographer. I am going to start a channel and plan to livestream and do videos & podcasts from the audio. What do I need to be able to use the camera I have in a RUclips studio setup?
When I'm making my videos, I have been using my phone. I'm really looking to upgrade. I would like to see what I'm recording and not have my phone on airplane mode 😅😅
This video has literally and without exaggerating been the most informative video I’ve ever watched since I’ve picked up my first camera many moons ago…thank you for your hard work sir 🫡

I use go pro hero 8 and its great for what i need in 4k, Mainly record myself playing guitar and vocals
I'm still using a couple of Canon 70D's lol They work just fine for 1080HD. And I have a couple of old Pixel 3XL's that I use as well.
Thank you! I was so overwhelmed by all of the different options for cameras it made me not even want to buy one. This video helps a lot!
I have just started youtube and this video was a must watch for me. Thank you I appreciate this very much
Great video, thanks!
Your video is helpful thanks,
I'm shooting weddings videos which cheapest camera do you recommend for me???🙏
Thanks, bro!
@think_mediavlogs nice try.
Really appreciate the advice on the various cameras and their respective capabilities 👍🏼
Thanks @Sean
Best videos I watched on my YT binge ❤ thank you TM😊
Great tutorial Sean! 🙏 I am using a Cannon m50 with 22mm F2 lens, very happy with the look of my video. My only dilemma is an ever slight audio sync issue in streamyard and I suspect it is due to having to go through eos webcam utility software as there is no clean hdmi out with my cannon m50.
For audio I use Shure SM7B via 2i2 and cloud lifer into my mac.
1) I used 2 cell phones to shoot and get sound + an action cam. (I do static videos with hands and face) Then the problem was two sound and three video streams to mix and sync
EXTREMELY HELPFUL....THANK YOU SEAN
Thank you! Very helpful overview and gives me more clarity!
I'm going to start with my phone first but want to try the ZV1, the Nikon Z 30 or the Sony ZV E10
Wah! Wonder if Craigslist or pawn shop, etc?
Greetings from Morocco 🇲🇦
The Hero11 black?
@@noodlessoul8356 yes. This is a really good little camera wih decent built I n sound that is easy to use. Im using the gp11 as my mobile camera in Italy now and its great.
Hello am going to be buy the Sony ZV 1
Spot on as always!
very informative 15min guide 4k (3840 xx 2160) good full frame section, and parts on audio.Keen on some of the 6k cameras incl the S5 mk II (Panasonic) Thought provoking.
Love your Sure mic I have the same one as well. Works well for podcasting
Very nice and informative video, it helped me so much ❤️❤️
Well, i got many cheap but peculiar cameras and i was looking for a new camera for my music/home studio recording then I've found my "old" Nikon D7200 it's still a beast with all modern stuffs i may require, including 60fps HD videos. It's not a 4K camera but this is not a feature i need, i am not that beauty so "less is better" for this time.
“Complexity is the enemy of completion” BOOM exactly thank you that’s my mantra
What about stabilization?
Best video on camera should be made after launch of latest camera 📸...i mean Panasonic sh5 latest can also be best camera launched 2days back
Thanks for the info bro😀🙏
Hi looking for advice on a camera, here's my list I hope someone in the comments can help
Budget - upto $1000
Main use - at home RUclips videos sitting down
Secondary use - Vlogging capabilities for travel
Capabilities - 4k
Features - attach microphone for better audio (I own a yeti usb mic, also XLR and quarter inch mics) willing to buy another mic for camera
Bonus - interchangeable lenses optional (perhaps I'll visit the mountains and take nature shots)
Current camera - iPhone 12 Pro and recently gave away Sony a5000 which I had since 2015
Looking for 2-3 options to research before purchasing. Thanks in advance
Panasonic S5ii - I love it
Surprised you have less views for this video. Amazing work. 🎉
Great stuff as always!
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge it very informative information... And you're absolutely amazing content creator...
This was fantastic. Thanks, guys.
Don't assume you need full frame. ASP-C has a long list of benefits over full frame.
Great video! Any chance to have a Quick Camera Setup & Best Settings for Video for Nikon Z30?
The complexity comment is essential and well put.
Please what is the best phone for youtube videos?
Thank you!
What about Panasonic Lumix G7? Is this good enough in 2023? It fits my budget perfectly.
Thank you
Tossed up between Sony zv1 & Sony zv e10. If I go with the Sony ZV E10, what Lense would you recommend for amazon influencer videos.
The Insta360 link is fantastic and can't be beat for the quality of the image and included software. I'll put it up against anything under 600 bucks.
What model?
Great information! We are a new channel and shoot from an iPhone 11 and a DJI Pocket 2 that was gifted to us. I might be in the market for a new camera this year but it’ll have to be durable and reliable.
8:34 This is an issue I discovered with GoPro. Made a 30 minute video and it broke up into 10 minute segments which made editing a nightmare and resulting in me scrapping the video all together
Great video thank you for all of the information. Any recommendations on a camera under $1000 for filming wildlife/outdoor content?
No insta360 cameras?? You should look at the X3
I’m still loving my Canon M50.
Great video! Thank you! I'm currently using a Canon EOS M50 Mark II and recently bought the Canon 22mm F2.0 fixed lens for $179. Is it worth it for me to upgrade to the newer Canon R10?
Not if your happy with that combo. I've owned it and great setup.. small light lens on the camera. If you don't need 4k why change.
Which would you say is best for IG Reels/ TikTok in terms if aspect ratio??
Great video thanks a lot.
Great content. 👊
I just got into using a camera for videos less than a week ago, and I've been using my iPhone 11 which seems to work fine enough for me 👍
I definitely want to upgrade as soon as I can though
Same here but I want to get into photography and movie creation too soo I’m thinking about a camera for all of those
The new $2000 Panasonic camera should be in the list
Jesus. I needed this video more than you know.
Awesome🙂👍
Thank you so much for sharing, I really love canon cameras but I'm thinking of getting another Sony, The seams soo good. All the best, Linda
👆 is a scam
I notice youdon't have the Sony ZV-1F on your budget camera list is there a reason why?
When I'm making my videos, I have been using my phone. I'm really looking to upgrade. I would like to see what I'm recording and not have my phone on airplane mode 😅😅
This video has literally and without exaggerating been the most informative video I’ve ever watched since I’ve picked up my first camera many moons ago…thank you for your hard work sir 🫡
I'm looking to upgrade my channel and content. My question is of the 4 sony Full Frame what one works well with Taking photos and recording video?
This is the things I want to know! Teriffic....Good job.
I’m sorry but I don’t know how to respond to you by Telegram. I tried but to no avail. It said I needed a phone number for you
@think_mediavlogs I tried to respond but it said that I needed a phone number
Really helpful 👍🏽
Great Video very informative , Thanks for sharing 🙂👌
