Setting Up Yak Power Waterproof Battery Box - Kayak Fishing -Hopefully the end of my battery issues!

- I needed to set up a new Yak Power Waterproof Battery Box when the USB port failed on my current one. These boxes come pre-wired with 2 USB ports and a plug for my fishfinder, which is really cool, but this new box will be my 4th, with all three previously having failed USB ports which I think might be my fault because they do get wet on my Hobie Lynx in rain and big waves, and maybe they aren't waterproof once something is plugged in? I'm not sure, I just know I've got the 4th box set up now and ready to go fishing!

Definitely enjoy seeing you learn more, even something such as wiring... I dread that kind of stuff, but with proper guidance and experience teaching, you are able to add that to your "tool box" or "tackle box"😀😀

Put die-electric grease in your ports it will insulate connections from water get it at autozone or any automotive store
Like in the USB slots?
I don’t have a usb port on mine but I believe you use silicone grease on usb I’m sure you can find it on RUclips I watched a video one time on that I believe

On number 4. Sounds like they need to change some stuff. Warranty claims!!
Brian has a theory that when something is plugged into the USB port, it is no longer waterproof, so that may be what happened.
Loan me $300 😮those are expensive batteries dang!
Aren’t most lithium batteries? I’ll probably switch over to batteries that Strictly Sail carries next year to be loyal to the team.
@@GirlGoneFishing thankfully i really dont need one. I might eventually get one to hard wire my power pole
Probably the only thing I wish I had on the Lynx (that it never will) is a hull for thru-hull wiring for power and lights. But for next year I am going to see what we can make happen for my boat.
