There are many actually. It's a brain thing--the fear issue. He was scanned and his amygdala is abnormal. No biggie, Einstein also had an abnormal brain, albeit an enlarged pituitary. But I agree, Alex is an absolute legend!

Very cool interview. I've been climbing for 20+ years and the foot pain Q was awesome. With the regular weekend warrior schedule and hitting the gym for fitness my feet are pretty crushed after standing on them for 1000ft of climbing. The amount of time you've got to log to just condition your feet for stuff like that is a bit absurd.

It seems to me it will be hard for him to conciliate his need for climbing with his family life. He said he was doubting between going home for this family dinner with his laws or continue solo climbing after he had already had a full day of climbing.
I never solo climbed anything harder than a two story building and i would climb El Cap on a windy rainy night, just to get away from a family dinner with the in laws.

I'd say to non-climbers just because every climber I talk to looks like they're SICK of talking about Alex Honnold already xD Are they jaded? I'm not sick!
I do the same with 800mg ibuprofen every 6 hours on anything that pushes my body hard for the current shape I am in. It really works too, why I do it. Must take first dose at least an hour before you start.

Seems like an awful amount of ibuprofen lol. Should maybe take less and maybe a real analgesic like Codiene or hydrocodone or something mild . A lot easier in the liver
Alex now completely understands what he’s doing in marketing himself as this care free, nothings a bother superstar climber. How his personality has completely changed over the years.
