I used Air tags recently just to try them out and they worked pretty good. I put 1 in each luggage. Rifle case, carry on, and checkin bag. Was helpful to see where each bag was. When I arrived at midnight at a small airport, my rifle hadn’t arrived according to the air tag, and being a small airport at that time the case was confirmed at the airport early the next morning. I have myself extra days just for that exact situation.
A humble suggestion for future episodes- highlight some high value guns at different pricing tiers. For example a Ruger American may be a high value for the economy price tier and a x bolt may be a value at the mid tier. Just my 2 cents
9:38 also, ATF is the only agency that is legally allowed to require you to provide legal documentation of an NFA item. That said, ANY law enforcement can hold you until an ATF agent shows up. 14:58 a great way to make sure that you're chamber is at least unloaded is to take the bolt out of a rifle and disassemble the slide of pistols. Doing this will also give you a visual on the magazine of the rifle, and most pistols can't be disassembled unless the magazine is out. For the glock owners, remember that you have to pull the trigger to disassemble your pistol so clear the chamber before doing so!
It is not clear to me about handloads, are they OK to air travel with, can I just put them in a factory box that is a cartridge match, or a plastic ammo box.
@@BackcountryHuntingPodcast Thanks, that sounds good, but not sure where can I get my hands on a few empty boxes of 338-06. On the other hand the action is stamped as 30-06, so if I use 338-06 fire formed 30-06 stamped brass, and a 30-06 box, the will all match in description. Is that a way to go?
Interesting not its ever likely to apply for ol me,but only God Knows. Nice Shirt n Plug There for any American Hunter All Loves Em or turn in there mancard.😂
Hey folks! Do you have any interesting stories about flying with firearms?
Thanks, JVB! I leave for Africa in 9 days and this is my first time flying with a firearm. Glad to know I've taken all the right steps!
A polite and cheerful demenor is always best... in nearly every situation life throws at ya.

Don't buy flimsy locks!!! Buy quality locks that you trust. I recommend TSA approved master locks. Don't go cheap protecting your firearms
Hey, how about voting in a way that makes traveling with guns easier.

Yep, it's fine to travel with handloads. Just put them in caliber-matching factory ammo boxes.
