Punches well above its weight. It's an excellent lens, and being a sony, it activates all the electronic trickery in your alpha series camera. IQ is really good, and yes, that bokeh, especially for video? 👍🏽
Cool. Just picked up an, obviously old, a6000 and this is the first lens I’ve purchased. Seems like it will do exactly what I was looking for at a budget price.
I got a silver one too... But it works quite well and it is cheap. OSS is surprisingly good. IQ is ok for the money. The other option is the 70-200 f4, which is 4x-5x more expensive.
I think the silver looks just fine thank-you-very-much and I say we "silver shooters" are simply sick and tired of all the backlash from the "black shooters!" Er, wait a sec. That didn't come out right. I mean the black lens owners. Oops! Nope!! Try again Einstein! Uh, like, we're tired of all the snide remarks from those owning the "boring, anybody-cool-knows-you-shoot-with-a-black-55-210mm-f4.5-6.3" okay?!! Nice video by the way. Dope!!
I use this lens often for softball and baseball. Works well for daytime or morning games. But at night under the lights its not very good at all. Need to much ISO to get ok shot
I’ve been using this for birds on my zve10. I found if I shoot in JPEG only I can use clear image zoom and it really increases range. Works well but limits post editing options. I can’t say enough about the OSS in my Sony lenses for my no IBIS camera.
I got this lens and quite disappointed with it. Image quality suffers significantly at 210 with sharpness and colors going out the window almost lol. I am getting rid of mine and will invest in the sigma 100-400 instead. Yes it's three times the price but it's reviews are quite stellar. Thank for making this review 🙏
I think that’s the trick: you can get a lens with stellar reviews but they’re 3x the price whereas you can pick these up nearly new on eBay for $150 or less.
This lens is great value for money for a beginner or someone who is on budget. Obviously you can buy a better lens if you can afford 3x the money. And if you can afford 10x the money you should be able to buy something even better. The point here is that it is a great lens at low price.
I love the color. And I feel a grown ass man wearing his baseball cap the wrong way around, like he's a toddler, isn't aesthetically pleasing. Good video nonetheless. I liked.
Great vid! this lens would be a good addition to the A6600 i'm thinking about getting but I also want to wait for the a7IV... maybe I should just get the A6600...
Jason Morris or should I get the sigma fp??? It seems like a cam that has a higher learning curve which might even be better for a beginner. A camera that forces you to learn...
I am thinking of buying a telephoto lens for birds, wildlife in the distance or shy people in the city, but I don't know is this lens good enough I mean in terms of zooming and also is it the cheapest option for a 200mm and up?
this lens have variable aperture What's the aperture when you shoot at 210mm? I want to purchase this lens for my zve10 for video Is this have good auto focus as well?
Debating this or spending a lot more on the 70-350. Is the more expensive one worth the price? Buy once cry once? Or meet in the middle with the Tamron 70-300 and lose OSS?
What did you decide? I want 1 or 2 lenses for sports photography and maybe videography mainly outdoors with light. I want the 18-105 and possibly this or what? Thanks
@@FastRedPonyCar anything more budget friendly?😂 I know photography is expensive but even second hand that’s quite a lot for someone that doesn’t have any secured paid work and only doing it for fun and trying to go further right now. I’m thinking maybe the 18-105 f4 AND a more budget friendly long range camera for outdoor sports? Or maybe 1 that does it all? Any ideas thanks and sorry for the long paragraph.
@@V1PERB3ATZHonestly a second hand 55-210 would be a good choice. Stepping down in price obviously comes with maybe less sharpness, no OSS, slower aperture, etc but if you aren’t going to be using the lens to make money, it can be hard to justify dropping nearly $1000 on a lens. There are used 55-110 lenses on eBay for $150 so definitely consider that. If you end up using it a lot, maybe consider the upgrade later on.
@@FastRedPonyCar doesn’t the 55-210 have OSS I think there’s a silver one that does or that’s the 18-200? Would you rather go with the 18-200 or 55-210? Thanks.
This is the cheapest lens I have and have got some of my best shots with it, just goes to show
I know right. How good is it!
My English is bad. What's the conclusion ? Is that a good lens or bad lens ? XD
*Just bought this Lens. I also have the 16-50 as well and lookin forward to trying out both of them.*
I have this lens about for 9 years, and it takes beautiful portrait and landscape. So far I am not complaining 😉
Wow 9 years! Great job
Is it good in low light or mountains or Sun, moon ??

@@markcorby8475 Actually it's better if it's white or silver because it doesn't heat as easily as a black one under the sun!
Like the silver finish.

Keeping it for sure. I don't have any other lenses that reaches that focal length

our cute little girl
Do you guys this lens can work for some zoo shots to get a closer look?
Its not the lense its the photographer, you can have the crappiest lense but if you have the eye youll get good shots
Hi Mate have you reviewed the 70-350, keen to get your thoughts here for those seeking a little more reach. Thanks @torquaymick
I want to sell this lens and get a sigma 30mm 1.4 for the a6000, is it a wrong move ? I mostly shoot family portraits and product photography.
Is it compatible with sony alpha 230?
if sony apha 230 is e mount not a mount then yes
I thought it was a coffee thermo at first glance.
hahah it does look like it
How to switch the OSS on/off ???
In the camera body it should have the OSS Off or On option.
