Great video! It’s crazy to think about all the extra vert you have to add when filming yourself. With you running down the scree at the end, all I could think about was your scramble back up to get the camera. This is one of my favorite channels. Thank for all of your effort and dedication to sharing your adventures.
me photographer who have been filming myself on trails sometimes looking at your shots: omg the energy to go back up and down after filming himself.. you deserve your thumb up and comment!!!
Stunning scenery, Danny! “Scree for all” lol…another epic MA video. Love it! Thanks for taking us along, and well done to Nick for getting in shape and turning a shaming into something positive.
Red lining your friends is a way of showing you care, hahah have a great weekend everyone. Great stuff appreciate the extra miles hiking in order to capture your adventure. 👍🏽
Nice to see you playing in my backyard, gotta love that Canadian Rockies choss. I can't imagine what your Strava looks like with all the back tracking to get camera's.
Super neat to see another trail that's very familiar to me! Can't wait to see where else in the Canadian Rockies you checked out - if you didn't get the chance to go up the Icefields Parkway, that's definitely one for the top of the list!!
Well that's a strange way to decide. You do mtns because you want the challenge, the exercise, and the views. Not to please somebody else or to provide "content." There'd be way fewer ppl in the mtns if they couldn't let everybody know what they did.
I did this exact itinerary back in 2013 except but instead backtracked back to the Niblock/Whyte col with a climbing partner I had met that day. He decided to take an alternative route down from the col and ended up needing SAR before the day was done. Glad to see you had much better luck than he, Danny! Great video.
A good chunk of Alaskan peaks are made up of that "chossy garbage" as well. And its always the summit push where you deal with it the most. ALWAYS. Another great video, as always. 😀
I did Devils Thumb this summer! Loved the hike and scramble. When I did it someone in front on the steepest part of the avalanche scar dislodged a rock that came rolling down the hill so I had to dive out of the way. The dive has just made the memory even better!
Literally same. I’m relatively out of shape and after doing my first 6 mi round trip hike with 3k elevation gain, the 1000ft to 1 mile ratio has been my main benchmark.
If I'm doing anything over 800 feet per mile, I switch to how much elevation I'm gaining per hour instead of distance. Distance would be too disheartening.
How is it that you have such restraint to not stop and take photographs of such beauty? My goodness, I wouldn't be able to hike that trail in a day because of all the vistas just begging for a photo. Your filmography is unmatched, just pure art.
Always makes me wonder what people think of you going up and then down, just to go back up 😹 Great shots and the Views are gorgeous! Hopefully you got all the rocks out of your shoes, ha
Danny, Dude, you are the epitome of awesomeness on this hike. You never fail to blow me away with your chutzpah and humour. You are an incredible inspiration to an old goat like me. Keep on climbing you little mountain goat you!!!
I did a simalar Mt Baldy trek. didnt summit but made it down to Laguna beach by sunset. I bet that was fun skiing down. looked like decent cali / LA baldy snow.
might have better luck on trailforks than alltrails and its a cooler full of pop! welcome to canada eh. stoked to see some canadian peaks but bummed the all the amateurs couldnt make it. hopefully your saving the HSCT for the crew! great episode you should be on cable television cause this is better than the bachelor
Awsome footage! I know how hard it is to film yourself but it's totally worth it with the results you get! Great to see you up here and keep up the awesome work Danny! I attempted this about 2 weeks after you did it. The lower clif band was covered in snow, ice and veriglas. Also snowed while I was up there. I made it through the first clif band but bailed in the upper basin when there was frost in the scree. Loose and steep! That's the nature of the Rockies! Such a great playground. Glad you could get up here for a bit and see what there is to see!
Nothing "mediocre" about this guy. Clever and entertaining, and an absolute beast. Riding a "rock-alanche" with his shoes like he was skiing down a "scree-for-all" (while videoing it no less). Nonchalantly managing an exposed ridge with abrupt drops of hundreds of feet on loose crap, after an elevation gain of 5-6K feet, and after doing sometihng similar the day before. I was feeling vertiginous sitting in my chair watfching this. Jees!! And always optimistic even when the comments turns dark: "This is an alternate way down... It looks a little rough but there are tracks and maybe a faint trail---which could lead to a bunch of corpses..." [Me thinking: "That could be right."] Then effortlessly throws in a philosphical pearl: "Things always look worse from a distance [but] when you get into the mix the path reveals itself." If that's mediocre, the rest of us live in the opposite of Lake Wobegon (ie, below average). Respect.
"Things always look worse from a distance, but when you get into the mix the path reveals itself" ... Come for the mountains, stay for the wisdom.
I was about ready to make a comment on that too. Who knew he was so deep? :)
Awesome quote. I just came here to post the same thing!
Epic
i can use that decluttering my apartment right now.
9:05, "Things look worse from a distance but when you kinda get into the mix the path reveals itself." A brilliant metaphor for life in general.
Anytime I feel uneasy about a hike I'm about to do, I play this song 0:01 in my head and I summon the mediocre confidence.
Glad to know I'm not the only who does this.
@@double0newb Yeah Buddy!
Dude I still do this
Great video! It’s crazy to think about all the extra vert you have to add when filming yourself. With you running down the scree at the end, all I could think about was your scramble back up to get the camera. This is one of my favorite channels. Thank for all of your effort and dedication to sharing your adventures.
Same xD I feel like I would seriously contemplate leaving the camera
It would be an honor to be shamed by you, Danny. You are an inspiration to us all. Incredible footage, boogers and all.
This is whitout a doubt the best channel in YT. Cheers from Mexico
Glad I'm awake at 4am lol
me photographer who have been filming myself on trails sometimes looking at your shots: omg the energy to go back up and down after filming himself.. you deserve your thumb up and comment!!!
Thanks for the scree show. You guys are fun to watch.
So much joy in these films chaps.
Stunning scenery, Danny! “Scree for all” lol…another epic MA video. Love it! Thanks for taking us along, and well done to Nick for getting in shape and turning a shaming into something positive.
Best channel on RUclips!!
constant inspiration to chase my dreams and hike as much as possible. One of my favorite channels!
I've always wanted to visit Banff. This reinforces that desire.
WOW! Magnificent views from on high! 😊🏔👏🏻
Absolutely one of your best videos! The rockies are home
Please do a review of those Sportiva Boa trail runners! Awesome video, Banff looks like everything it’s hyped up to be!
Another stellar video, and great music!
You sure make hard look easy. Gorgeous scenery, great hike.
"a faint trail that might lead to a bunch of corpses" 😂 Amazing views!
12:40 the thought of you having to climb back up and get the camera after scree skiing down all of that shows your dedication.
Excellent vid dude -- impressive number of framed shots, high-quality image, awesome 70s soul soundtrack, spectacular scenery.
Fantastic footage. Kudos for the very impressive solo camera work.
Good job. Amazing scenery.👍
Oh my lord! Some of those scenes were very scary just watching. I could only imagine being there. You could definitely be the next Bond Danny!
I appreciate the effort that goes into filming good videos of yourself. it takes patience and time. nice work
Always great videos, in super places.
Red lining your friends is a way of showing you care, hahah have a great weekend everyone. Great stuff appreciate the extra miles hiking in order to capture your adventure. 👍🏽
Another epic hike/video. Thank you!
Thank you for creating such a quality content. Absolutely love it.
Awh my Gawd! what a HIKE! dis aint "mediocre"! thanx for the trip!!!
Stunning! Great visual at the start showing your route, brilliant idea!
"A faint trail that could just lead to a bunch of corpses" 😂 hilarious.
Nice to see you playing in my backyard, gotta love that Canadian Rockies choss. I can't imagine what your Strava looks like with all the back tracking to get camera's.
Starting my day with this!! Awesome 👏 👌 🆒️ 🙌
Thanks for sharing your spectacular hike.💪👍
Definitely put in a lot of extra work filming this. Awesome views, thanks so much!
What a great tune towards the end. Like a good 70s cop show song.
Man these videos are awesome! That view is insane
Super neat to see another trail that's very familiar to me! Can't wait to see where else in the Canadian Rockies you checked out - if you didn't get the chance to go up the Icefields Parkway, that's definitely one for the top of the list!!
well, good choices and a great day. really like your input of the footage. a fine video again!
Love the videos and would really appreciate additional content for instance maybe your dinner conversation at a restaurant after an interesting climb
Stoked you're doing routes in Canada. I'll definitely be hitting these up next summer 👌
God bless you in your efforts to make&share the video
A bucket list hike for me.
sick send as always. When I'm considering any hike I always think would the mediocre amateurs respect this.
Well that's a strange way to decide. You do mtns because you want the challenge, the exercise, and the views. Not to please somebody else or to provide "content." There'd be way fewer ppl in the mtns if they couldn't let everybody know what they did.
Beast! Great video as always Danny.
Awesome scenery and video

nick disappeared so quick!!! i love loose rock!......... when its really small lol! absolutely amazing footage!
Lol Danny’s humor, always on point! “maybe a faint trail, which could just lead to a bunch of corpses”
"All Trails must have a reason"... "So I'm going rogue" cracked me up.
Amazing job & epic footage!
Fun to see you exploring in our backyard! Epic!
While watching, I wondered about rock fall from above.....w/o a helmet
When planning my hikes I consider that 1000 ft to 1 mile distance ratio as my definition of steep.
Literally same. I’m relatively out of shape and after doing my first 6 mi round trip hike with 3k elevation gain, the 1000ft to 1 mile ratio has been my main benchmark.
hahaha was trying to do mount nelson in BC, then i saw the trail haha, 1900m (6200)elevation gain for 5.2km (3.2miles) up
If I'm doing anything over 800 feet per mile, I switch to how much elevation I'm gaining per hour instead of distance. Distance would be too disheartening.
Wow. Epic.
Pretty brave to just go down the scree like that.
If there was a cliffband it would be bruttal slogging back up. ;)
This was a great video!!
Wonderful as always! Thanks brother!
Awesome thanks for sharing
“Scree for all” love the Das jokes Danny!
When he said, "A well-worn trail with plenty of cairns," I heard, "Karens" instead. Haha! Changes the meaning a bit.
Great views and great tunes
Always a good day when you upload a new video 👏
Beautiful!
Dan the man back in action

Thanks for taking us along Danny! Always such a good inspiration to get back to the mountains and suffer!
Woohoooo. That music at the beginning is the classic mediocre amateur beginning ✌️😁. Happy Thursday. Awesome spot, epic views. 👊👊
You're the man Danny! Appreciate all the effort you put into making these sick videos for us to enjoy
Starts Scree slide
“Rock”
Lmao that’s the kind of stuff that I do on my solo sufferfests
Nice adventure, @forestyforest can show you some hidden gems 💎 in that area👌
Interesting music choices. . . Glad to see you using poles buddy!
I love "skiing" down loose rock like that. So much fun.
In Canada we never go back to a "cooler full of soda". Its always a cooler full of cold beer! ;). Great vid though!
Danny,
Dude, you are the epitome of awesomeness on this hike. You never fail to blow me away with your chutzpah and humour. You are an incredible inspiration to an old goat like me. Keep on climbing you little mountain goat you!!!
Woohooo new video!!!
12:40 that's some commitment to filming right there Danny!
Did that poor person at 6:10 watch you place your camera, descend and then climb back up all while they struggled?
Incredible scenery once again. It’s so beautiful there. You guys are crazy!! Congratulations on a hike well done!
The Canadian Rockies are spectacular to look at from afar, but a loose chossy mess up close aren't they?!
Yes, and that's why there are so many peaks that amateurs and even clueless ppl manage to get up.
The bee hive has some nice blocky climbes
I did a simalar Mt Baldy trek. didnt summit but made it down to Laguna beach by sunset. I bet that was fun skiing down. looked like decent cali / LA baldy snow.
you deserve more subscribers!!
Scree skiing very impressive
Thanks for taking the time and effort to bring us along again. You may be an amatuer, but you are definitely not mediocre.

Your dedication to those solo shots is highly commendable, good sir!
What a beast
You are my idol ❤
Well done.
Epic run/hike/scramble! Great video!
Love this video, Cheers. I did Niblock and Devil's Thumb last week and made a video on my channel.
awesome footage!! How does Banff compare to Glacier?
"Scree for all" was good. Surprised that hasn't been used before.
Nothing "mediocre" about this guy. Clever and entertaining, and an absolute beast. Riding a "rock-alanche" with his shoes like he was skiing down a "scree-for-all" (while videoing it no less). Another awesome video! Danny, have you ever gotten your VO2 max checked? You have to be crazy in shape lol
