The fielding in this game was next level. A stand out feature for both teams. No one fielded like South Africa and Aust in this era.

This was the last test for Merv Hughes. He had shared the honours with Shane Warne and Tim May in the 1993 Ashes but was out of the game for almost 6 months due to injury. In this comeback series got into trouble with the match referee for sledging and a skirmish with a spectator besides not performing very impressively and not being fully fit.

And South Africa were dismissed for 164, not 198.
