    Thanks for the tour! Been coming to the Creede area for over 40 years and I always fish the area between Thirty Mile campground and River Hill! It's one of my favorite spots! I'll be there 7-16-2022 and I will once again fish this part of the Rio!

      You are so lucky to visit in a different time when it wasn't as busy as it is now!

      @@CampgroundRecon It's definitely way more crowded these days, especially with all the recreational vehicles running up and down the roads! However, I always find somewhere to fish by myself! I always stay at the San Juan Ranch!

    Thanks so much. How is the road from Route 149 to the campground? Is it ok for most any car? Love your videos and bringing my 16 yr old twin sons to southern CO next month and camping in a few of your recommendations

      You can get to the campground in a car. Road might be a little washboarded at times

    is the fishing in this area ok? We had heard that there was no good fishing in the area due to fish kill?

      No issues that I am aware of. Here is a good resource for fishing on the upper Rio Grande River: www.fishtheupperrio.com/fishing-reports

    This may be a question for older area residents, but did that campground used to be called "Trego's 30mile?"

    • @CampgroundRecon
      @CampgroundRecon  3 года назад +1

      I think that might be the old resort that is behind this campground. Maybe a local can tell us for sure.

      @@CampgroundRecon Many years ago an Illinois flatlander had the great fortune to have lived in a bunkhouse just upstream. I spent a season in the employ of the R.G. Resevoir dam attendant. He owned a string of horses which were used to travel and pack campsites up the Weminuche and Squaw Creek trails. I also had the fortune of spending a few evenings playing guitar at Trego's Campground. Thank you for your response and know that the mountain I knew is a lot more desolate now. I wept at the videos.
