I enjoy this story. Listened only a month or two ago , but there's a dearth of Georgette Heyer at the moment. I think the reader is brilliant. Just what I need as relaxation from the election ! K
Hi Kate, I read the excellent description you provided! And I agree with you, I was also surprised to find that Nell was the protagonist. It's the 1st time for me, where the FC in a Heyer Regency Romance isnt smart, educated or witty. Heyer's MC have usually more pluck/are more self-assured/more mature, which usually helps me gloss over the age difference. This time, it really feels like the Earl found himself a child-bride (with her enjoyment of things, her haunting memories of her governess, and with her understanding of the world in general). It makes me feel uncomfortable.
What a great entertainment! Very enjoyable. Thank you
Thank you! I'm so glad to find a Georgette Heyer book with an appropriate narrator. I wish there were more of them. ❤

I agree, it's hard to imagine Cardross and Nell having anything in common, to have a real and equal marriage. Dysart is ghastly.
