I loved the reader's reading- linguistics and voice changes. They were smooth and clear. Her doing the drunk voices were epic and realistic. I laughed out loud, it was so funny. I don't know how she switched so smoothly. The book was enjoyable as well ... quite a turn of events. Aristocracy came through and I could see them like when I watched classics like Jane Eyre. At the end the reader didn't say anything it just cut at the last sentence and I was expecting more but it was not a cliffhanger it ended nicely yet allowed your mind to imagine the future... My only cons was that a little more yet clean romance would have been nice.
I find it hard to believe Georgette Heyer even liked Nell: she had her remained useless from beginning to end. Couldnt even allowed her to save the day?! Rude. Edit: I cant feel, that Letti will ever be happy with her fate. Mrs Heyer made weird choices in this book. It wont be a favorite of mine for sure.
Yes indeed and I feel sorry for cardross as everyone is getting money out of him and lying to him constantly.Letty is such a little madam the vast majority of wives in regency times of diplomats and soldiers who went with them to foreign climes died of fevers...
Such excelllent narration, all the different voices and accents perfect. But an irritating story, Nell, Letty and the brother deplorable and unlikeable people, only Cardross' character made it worth listening to. I kept hoping Nell would prove to be good enough for him but no.
Beautiful story n great narrators
Good fun on a rainy afternoon of knitting. Thank you so much for sharing. May you be blessed!
This is beautifully read indeed. I have heard all four parts twice in the last month as it is so good.

Thank you for uploading! I loved it!
Beautifully read and thoroughly enjoyable - Thank you
Her earlier novels always ended on plenty of romantic interludes. But her later works have more mystery than romance
Twisted sobriety all round. Great book.

Ryder street scene dragged on too long.
Somewhat rough interpretation. The working class version....complete lack of refined nuance. Soooooo bad
hoity-toity, less fastidious, if you please.
Very “horrid.” I think this book needed a lot of work and was very boring. Wayyy too much conflict and not nearly enough romance!
@@julijakeit Always full of criticism, aren't you. ..
The later novels are rather written in prolonged periods. But their interesting aspect is the conversations, not the fast moving events.
