    Well done. In the realm of living in such a space, downsizing and minimalizing usually go hand in hand. I know lots of people, ourselves included, who are buying these too put on their home property for helping other family members out in tough times. Many others are buying them to rent out to people who can't afford even a studio apartment now days. Cost of living has went up so bad and it's only going to get worse. I'd love in one of these in a heart beat. You have to be willing to let go of loss of things and embrace totally different things. It's kind of like moving to a foreign country where you don't know the language and you'll have to learn as you go, mistakes and all. Either way, for recreation or living these are made in such a way that living in one is much more doable than ever before.

      Thanks for saying this. I lived in a foreign country for 2 years in the poorest of areas. I am looking into an RV and I keep telling myself, if I could live in South America for 2 years, I can live in an RV. It’s a huge amount of savings. Or maybe I should just live to a foreign country again…

      Issue is that many counties in the USA will NOT allow you to place an RV on your property if you or someone is going to live in it. It's illegal. Zoning laws are absolute bullshit. The amount of money you have to spend to make your RV legal to live in on your property is about 40% of the cost of the majority of RVs. If you buy a $60,000 camper to live in, you're gonna need to spend about $20,000 in septic system expansion costs to make your camper be able to connect to the sewer or septic system. Not doing this will yield you a fine of several thousand dollars if youre caught. Local Governments really dont want people leaving cheap, because theres no money in it for them for people to live in RVs.

    To be honest, the price of an average size single family house is through the roof (well over a half million dollars). I would suggest if you live in an RV, make sure you buy and put a protective coat over the roof to protect it from the sun (reapply it once a year).
    As for me, I would buy a used and well maintained pre-pandemic era RV.

    I love living in my 5th wheel toy hauler. One of the unforseen cost was how much more the insurance was because of the generator and the gas tank on the rv. I found out because my friends are living in an rv the same size but just a 5th wheel and are paying much less. I called the insurance agent and they broke it down to being connected to the gasoline, the ability to carry a gas powered toy, and the generator. There is many more 5th wheels now like you have been showing on your site that have the space without being a toy hauler.
    On that note more information on solar costs would be great.

    Great Video! Thanks for doing this video. It is rare to have a dealership be honest about the industry. Good for you!!!
    A couple of items for folks to know:
    1. You can totally find good private campgrounds with FHUs and all the amenities for significantly less money than noted.
    2. If you have a travel trailer and opt for a generator. You need to figure out the logistics regarding carrying the gas and oil needed.
    3. On supplemental stuff you need. On motorhomes - Tow bar for your toad.($1,500) if you are towing, not all cars can be towed with 4 wheels down. it is the law for a supplemental breaking systems ($1,500), Tire Pressure monitoring system for all RVs($600.00) an RV GPS ($300.0]) a Hydroflush ($35.00) you will thank me on this one beca6poo dams happen more often than you think. Water filteration system ($35.00-150.00), Backup camera.
    4. Don't believe the whole you can tow this with a half ton vehicle or SUV, unless you want to wreck your transmission in 6 months. You really should have a 1 ton truck.
    5. Service issues - don't believe them. Make sure you know your plan B. I was out of my brand new RV up to 9 months of the first year and 14 month for the first 2 years. Luckily I happen to love tent camping so I bought a tent and wandered around with my jeep. If it is safe though, it's best to find a service station that allows you to stay in your rig while you wait. Like this place has those RV spots. That is a super nice feature. Also super hard to find.
    6.If you buy new, you should know that the contracts may indicate that you nullify your warrentee if you live in the RV full-time. Just let them know you are on a trip. They the service folks don't need to know you are loving fulltime in the RV. Also from a service perspective, they will know you are out of there and probably wont be back to bug them if they did a crappy job. You might have to have things fixed multiple times.
    7. Solar. Check your contract to see if you install Solar after factory, if that nullifies your warrentee.
    If you want to learn more. I develop a class that is starting up soon on fulltime RV living. Feel free to drop me an email at lftrtravel@gmail.com or my website lftrus.com

    I been living in a rv for almost 3 years I already owned my Sierra by Forest River Silver Eagle 24 foot...Hey living in a RV is great but certainly not as easy as you think...Number one fifth wheel rv are like buying a home not easy.....they cost as much too! my rv fifth wheel was already in super good shape...I choose to upgrade restore mine to the way I wanted it considering I can replace repair everything on it!!! I know how to do all the repairs myself I have almost replaced about everything on it!!!! Air conditioner furnace new Awening! led lighting thru out plus strip led lighting so I can turn my lighting on by Alexa in fact I made almost everything by internet and phone including the furnace....Sensi thermostat....Dyson air cleaners 2 in fact...I put them in for clean air....I heat with Mr heater buddy flex because using furnace in winter when its extremely cold will make it run to much crack heat exchanger and don't think people realize that rv furnaces are not made for winter....I also went with Air Skirts for the circumference of the trailer they work well if you don't put holes in them lol....yeah I have tons more to say but that takes to long.....

Calm and not pushy, I went to his dealership because I enjoy his videos and thinking hard about trading in my certain toy hauler! But decided cost and the way interest rates along with today's income world is at right now I will keep my 2021 toy hauler! Yes they do break down, so far I've been very lucky with the one I have, plus RVs do have a regular maintenance schedule , most important is hot water heater, ac UNITS, refrigerators, along with truly understanding to flush your black tanks! If you want the best, then get the most expensive one possible. Every brand in the same price range with one another are going to have very similar properties when it comes to insulation and construction. You only see major differences when you go from one brand to another that’s a significant jump in price.

    I traveled in a 24' class c for most of my trips thru the years and bought one back in late 2013. It always had to be stored somewhere else when I wasn't on the road since moving into a condo. And since March of 2020 I have not been able to go anywhere, I was thinking of getting rid of the RV because it was getting older and I wasn't able to use it much.
    I went to an RV show to see how to go about selling it or putting it up for consignment and I ended up looking into the Thor 20K sequence... I am considering using it as a full-time vehicle that is small enough to keep outside my condo and then traveling for a few months of the year even if I only have to stay locally.
    But the world has definitely changed in the last 2 years so I don't know if I'm making a big mistake or a smart move.

    • @TehDubster
      @TehDubster Месяц назад

      Coleman campers are owned and manufactured by Thor Motorcoach Company. Thor is a giant RV monopoly that makes about 80% of the RVs on the market. RV industry is notorious for building their RVs very cheaply and not honoring their warranties, and even when they do honor it, it can take months for them to see you and theyll never fix it right. The RV industry is a nightmare if you get unlucky and get a defective unit. They will NOT stand behind your product and you'll be screwed. Thor decided back in 2012 that building RVs as cheap as possible and making warranties hard as hell to get honored is cheaper than actually making a quality product. Ever since the pandemic hit in 2020, that quality has gone down even more due to the supply chain issues that was going on, and they haven't looked back since. And there's nothing anyone can do about it, because Thor bought out the majority of the RV makers in the 2010s, so your options for different RV brands is very limited. The quality is all sub par across all the RV manufacturers because they are all owned by Thor Motorhomes. **Brands like Airstream, Crossroads, Coleman, CruiserRV, DRV Luxury Suites, Entegra, Duchmen, Heartland, Highland, Jayco, Keystone, Redwood, KZ, Starcraft, Thor Motorcoach, Tiffin, and Venture RV brands are ALL owned by Thor Motorcoach, and the quality is all the same across the board.** All brands listed above make up 80% of the RV brands on the market.
      *Forest River owns the majority of the final 20% of campers, and Forest River isnt much better either. So in reality, over 98% of the motorhomes are owned and manufactured by 2 companies and they are in the business of making a quick buck than actually making quality products.*
      The only RV brands that are their own company that's on the Market right now is Durango, Brinkley, and Alliance, and unfortunately, these 3 brands arent that good in their quality either. However, they are built slightly better, but they still run into issues.

    Living in a RV gives you freedom that you do not get with a house!!!!as long as you don't buy a super huge one because the smaller the better! 24 foot =one person the way I see it...A person can live comfortably in a 24 foot....30 the max! when you get bigger you might as well buy a mobile home!!! Lol because rv parks you will have problems finding space,,,,camping isn't buying a giant rv....thats my take anyway!!

    How durable are they long term for permanent living in? I'm tempted to sell my house. Buy some land. An RV like these to live in for good, on the land I would buy. I already have a bunch of Bluetti solar products that I use for around my home. And I would use to for the powering of the RV. Really just need to know if these will last long term for living in? I've heard mixed things from the few people I have talked to about it.

    It’s after you buy an RV you really start spending money on it. It’s waaay harder to find a place to park and even camp

  • @TehDubster
    @TehDubster Месяц назад

Being poor is essentially illegal in the USA

      Our wants and needs just always changed so we would get a different size or floor plan each time. Like our last upgrade was from a 32ft open concept bunkhouse to a 40ft 2 bedroom fifth wheel.

      I have never seen a towable RV with room for a small car inside. Even toy hauler RVs only only capacity for up to 3000lbs and a car will be too heavy and/or won’t fit.

If you have time, would you please address the issues of living in an RV for those of us who live in the extreme northern part of our nation - where winter temperatures can fall to -30 F. What I am alluding to is those of us, who live in an RV during the cold winter months. Thanks again.

    RV living is becoming toxic. From the companies charging more for RVs for poor quality. Then you got the RV parks scamming calling themselves "RESORTS" charging $800 dollars for basic lots and no amenities. I've been living in my RV since 2013 and don't like where RV life is heading.
