You hit all the key points. Just got off the phone with my electrical contractor. Even though I have a well, they want to see an agricultural setup to give the permit to pull power. I am officially an avocado tree farmer. I farm 1 tree. Permit approved
Honestly the government ruins everything it touches. Used to you could be in total control of your house on your property if you owned such property. Now you have to go through complicated approval steps to do even a repair legally.
This is by far the best video I have watched about living in a Camper, so informative and hits a lot of questions my husband and I had. We are starting this kind of journey with our two little ones. Thank you
Great information Andrew. The first thing I purchased for my property was a tow-behind camper to install under my pole barn. I do not live in it but it is where I stay while on the property. My single wide is storage and we are currently talking to builders for our new home. Wish me luck in these trying times. Like you we got a good deal on an older camper....stepping stones my friend.
Thanks for the video this was really good information. I was considering the cost of the RV washer drier and then saw your video and it makes sense to simply build an accessory building for these things and keep as much out of the camper as possible.
We have a couple friends that are doing the Same thing y'all have Done in past couple years and they still haven't gotten half of what you all have done. (Guess they are happy with what they have) Thank goodness for a Blackstone, we love it. Every county in Florida is different for living in a trailer. (5 acres or 10 acres ,is there a well , what type of electricity, temp or with a (forget what they call it ) Hard to believe y'all don't have a million plus a billion subscribers. Y'all good people's
Good job touching on a lot of important points! As you said the laws vary per state, county, and city. Here you need approved building plans before you are given an address. No temporary above ground holding tanks are allowed. I built my home on 80 acres in the foothills 15 years ago. Now we are considering selling it and RVing (at least part of the time) on our other adjacent 80 acre parcel. I'm getting pretty old and not sure about starting over.new power, water septic as most have become both harder to do and way more expensive than they were then. I think your video will help me in my decisions. Thanks!
Thank you Andrew, best video I have seen on setting up a van semi to permanently and also setting up pole shed, sewage and appliances in advance. Great points re living, bathroom, electricity usage and local county and state issues. Well done!!
Hi Tiffany and Andrew that was small quarters to live in long term. Thankfully you had your garage or out building. You have done well and built your beautiful home. Love your videos and Sunday live. Take care. 🇨🇦
My husband and I are thinking of doing just this. We have 30 acres of farmland we want to build on, and we're sick of paying rent every month. Thanks for all the great information!
We had a 38 foot trailer that had two bedrooms. We were seasonal at a campground so we loved it. We did hate the small bathroom too and the small bed. That was hard so I could never live in it full time with a family of four. We loved going there but loved coming home too. 🤣😅
Excellent video we have lived in our 31 ft fifth wheel for 9 years before we moved here our container house is underway but you did an excellent job explaining things but your right everywhere is very different. Luckily we had an address even in the middle of nowhere our parcels were in a subdivision. Excellent info Andrew. 👍💞
My old house had a bathroom not much bigger than that bath closet. Now your huge new shower makes even more sense. Hope the white PU truck is yours. It would be well deserved in my opinion. "If it's not my money, sure, spend it!" is one of my favorite sayings.
That old white pickup I bought probably 12+ years ago. It's a 2001 and still as reliable as the day I bought it. No new pickup trucks in my future, they've priced themselves out for me.
Had a car crash through my home and nearly kill my family. We are doing okay these days but we just bought that exact camper and plan on doing the same thing you just spoke about. Can't thank you enough for posting this!
You covered things that I have not heard from other commentators. We are setting up our farm to bring in our RV that we have parked in a RV park. We are looking at all of theses things. Water, Electricity and septic. We have a 3 phase electrical service that supplies electrical for a 30 hp water pump that is 600' deep. They want $12,000 to make things more residential like replacing the 30hp pump to a 3hp pump. I put in a 1000 gl holding tank and a 3/4 hp above ground pump to service the RV. That should be more than enough to capture the 400 gallon per minute and soften it down to fill the 48 gl bladder tank with a 40/60 pressure switch. Its difficult to deal with a Florida permit office but with voices like yours that has been there and done that we will be able to get this done. Thx for taking the time to let us know how to do theses things.
Thank you for this video so much! Im thinking about buying a decent sized camper and living in a campground for a year or two (moving for work and only going to be there for 2-3 years) and dont wnt to deaal with leaases and appartments and your video gave me things to think about! I appreciate it and cant wait to watch more of your videos!!
Really great information Andrew. Who would have thought so much is involved in staying in a camper while building your home. I'm certain many will benefit from this my friend. Not being in that situation it's still very interesting learning about it. Thanks!
I went and bought a 27ft keystone conquest for my wife 2 year old and I. We lived in it for 2 months and I lost my mind bought a 40 foot carriage by cameo. Lived in that for 2 years no issue. It really is the layout. The conquest was 100 square foot about with the same size bathroom bed and living room. My cameo was 15k more than the conquest but totally worth it in design insulation space and bathroom/ kitchen/ living room space.
I'm about the do the same thing. Moving into a camper full-time in my 10arces in Tennessee while my house is built. Just me and my husband...plus our German shepherd. Thanks for giving this video. I'm trying to take any information that helps with this transition
So you have it in a good spot that carport or whatever it is truck port lol will definitely keep it from leaking. I would pull it a little further away from the end so the weather don’t get it. Keep your floor dry and it’ll last forever.
Excellent info because I have been thinking of doing the same thing for the past year or so and now I really have a better understanding of what my options are. Right now looking at a couple of 8-10 acres properties in the Tallahassee area and hopefully before the year ends I’ll be starting the same “journey”! I’m new to the channel and have been enjoying a lot all of your videos and will keep watching them for sure! Thanks and keep up the great work because you’re helping a lot of people just like me, for sure!
I love reading where someone says they are moving on to someone's property for whatever reason but nothing is said about oh, I don't know, like hookups? Unless someone has had the land set up with permits for rv hookups, not using the main house for electrical,, and plumbing, things can go bad fast.
great info...lived with a friend in the teenage summers in VA while they had their home built...definitely spent all waking hours outside their trailer lol

@@TKCL its crazy because we have talked about this exact plan for over a year and I happen to come across your video! I'll continue to watch! My husband is a musician and we travel alot! A travel trailer is a must for us soon!
Problem for me and my wife is that we won't have an "escape" like y'all talked about. Plus my limit financially and physically for my 1/2 ton pickup is a 27ft bumper pull, since I don't want to pay for a 5th wheel receiver. I also have no plan for how long this might last, or what to do after. I just know my lease is coming to an end quickly (2 months) and I need to get something figured out. I refuse to pay 800+ per month plus bills for a small apartment that won't even let us have our cat. A lot with water, elec, and sewer hookups for 260/month sounds way better.
You go to do what you have to do. Any sort of outdoor space, even a cooking area and picnic table helps. Campers can feel like a coffin to a lot of people if you stay inside them all day and night. Some people it doesn't bother.
Just purchased a camper to live in and after looking around at several lots, I've found that, sadly, the bathrooms don't get much larger than that lol. even in larger/newer/more expensive campers.

That is about the same layout as my Salem forest river 31kqbts. I HATE the bathroom. I wear a size 9 shoe. You CANNOT have bigger feet what so ever or be real long legged. I was quite toasty at minus 31 degrees inside. Only water froze but nothing busted. Winds over 80mph were scary but not one thing happened. I just now got my 5 acres finalized. And I plan on keeping on in my trailer. I want a barn over it too. But yet to figure out what kind. Heard don't have it all enclosed due to fumes when propane is working. I made sure my land is MINE and I'm allowed to do anything I want on it. Course I'm looking for anything else that's more "house" like. Just hard here trying to find something
Is their anything y’all don’t cover??? I look at different things for getting set up after moving, y’all pop up almost every time. Great videos keep it up!

We had power ran, it cost $2200 upfront and my bills were usually $130-150 a month.
Very informative video. Thanks for sharing. Take care and God Bless.
Thank you for watching, God bless!

Lol the bathroom was absolutely the worst part!
I live in south Florida and would be interested in the price of your trailer. Have truck will travel lol. I enjoy your video's!
Email me at kelleyscountry@gmail.com, I am listing it tomorrow.
