    You hit all the key points. Just got off the phone with my electrical contractor. Even though I have a well, they want to see an agricultural setup to give the permit to pull power. I am officially an avocado tree farmer. I farm 1 tree. Permit approved

    Great information Andrew. The first thing I purchased for my property was a tow-behind camper to install under my pole barn. I do not live in it but it is where I stay while on the property. My single wide is storage and we are currently talking to builders for our new home. Wish me luck in these trying times. Like you we got a good deal on an older camper....stepping stones my friend.

    Good job touching on a lot of important points! As you said the laws vary per state, county, and city. Here you need approved building plans before you are given an address. No temporary above ground holding tanks are allowed. I built my home on 80 acres in the foothills 15 years ago. Now we are considering selling it and RVing (at least part of the time) on our other adjacent 80 acre parcel. I'm getting pretty old and not sure about starting over.new power, water septic as most have become both harder to do and way more expensive than they were then. I think your video will help me in my decisions. Thanks!

    Andrew your camper bathroom is a suite compared to ours! 😂 Besides the things you touched base on we had/have to contend with cold weather. That means freezing pipes etc. We ruffed it this winter and kept the camper out all winter. A many a times we would run out of propane in the middle of the night.l and would have to go outside and switch tanks. One other thing you have to make sure you have plenty of propane on hand!! For awhile I had to tow mine 30 miles every couple of weeks to dump the black/gray tanks. Hopefully soon we will be getting our CO. We are still doing finish work! House looks great!

    You covered things that I have not heard from other commentators. We are setting up our farm to bring in our RV that we have parked in a RV park. We are looking at all of theses things. Water, Electricity and septic. We have a 3 phase electrical service that supplies electrical for a 30 hp water pump that is 600' deep. They want $12,000 to make things more residential like replacing the 30hp pump to a 3hp pump. I put in a 1000 gl holding tank and a 3/4 hp above ground pump to service the RV. That should be more than enough to capture the 400 gallon per minute and soften it down to fill the 48 gl bladder tank with a 40/60 pressure switch. Its difficult to deal with a Florida permit office but with voices like yours that has been there and done that we will be able to get this done. Thx for taking the time to let us know how to do theses things.

    Problem for me and my wife is that we won't have an "escape" like y'all talked about. Plus my limit financially and physically for my 1/2 ton pickup is a 27ft bumper pull, since I don't want to pay for a 5th wheel receiver. I also have no plan for how long this might last, or what to do after. I just know my lease is coming to an end quickly (2 months) and I need to get something figured out. I refuse to pay 800+ per month plus bills for a small apartment that won't even let us have our cat. A lot with water, elec, and sewer hookups for 260/month sounds way better.

      You go to do what you have to do. Any sort of outdoor space, even a cooking area and picnic table helps. Campers can feel like a coffin to a lot of people if you stay inside them all day and night. Some people it doesn't bother.

    In Harris country Texas it’s perfectly legal as long as you register it in Texas, have a Texas drivers license, and have a property certified for dwelling

    My wife and I lived in an RV with a Malamute dog for over 20 years 6 months in Florida and 6 months in Canada. The only reason we stopped was she got cancer and passed away

    Hi there, great video. quick question. I have installed permanent connection to my RV to my sewer line beside the house that leads to the city line. I have installed sewer pump to pump it better, my question is, should keep the black and gray valve ON all the time, if not why not? thanks

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  8 месяцев назад

      For sure never leave the black tank open, you build up dry solids as a result and only have a small trench flowing through the tank. Closed, solids stay suspended and damp to not stick to the tank.

    Very interesting! I think most people who live in their RVs live in an RV park where electrical and waste disposal is furnished. I never thought of the things involved if you live in one on your property like you mentioned. Thanks for the video!

    Good video. If I want to just visit my property a few times a year, and sleep in a van for two or three nights - would that be an issue? Essentially using the land as a quick escape from the loud city life to get some sleep for a few nights?

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Год назад +1

      I don't see why not, that's not permanent living. But only your local code department could actually say.

    Wow Andrew that was some good information there. You touched on some information that people probably would not have thought of or know what to do. Living in an RV camper full-time or part-time makes a big difference & if you don't have things pan right it could spell disaster. I know exactly what it's like living out of a camper because a truck 🚛 is a camper to believe it or not. Very small and not a lot of space. Especially the trucks 🚛 that have the stove , the shower , the bathroom , microwave. Very good video man. You take it easy buddy.

    I noticed your permanent decal is in Florida. Do you know if that varies by county? In Levy county, they’re not letting ppl live in RVs until you have a septic and power first and even then you have a limited amount of time to get your home built.

      I'm sure every county does have its own unique rules.

    As far as I know, we deal with our township. They said no to a tiny home, no to a single wide trailer- so I'm planning on a camper until I can figure things out. How much was your electric bill? Did you have a generator? If so, how much did it cost and was it loud?

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  Месяц назад +1

      We had power ran, it cost $2200 upfront and my bills were usually $130-150 a month.

    So does the shop not have sewage the camper can connect to? Or, being it’s just grey water from sinks and washer. It’s just dumping on the ground.

    • @TKCL
      @TKCL  2 года назад +3

      No sewage in the shop, I wanted to but it required full septic.

    So, question. If you're moochdocking on family land that you will be building on, does this supercede the need to have a permit to reside? I mean, there's already an address on the property and the house might be being built further away from existing structures. Gonna have to check into that. Thank you.

      So hard to say, every jurisdiction seems to have different rules.
