Here's a potential takeaway from this session.
We consider permanently shifting our attitudes towards the number of days we spend enriching ourselves versus days spent engaging with others for fulfillment or by obligation. After the lockdown, continue distancing yourself on the scale of hours, opposed to days or weeks, to maintain the benefits we gain from self-elected experiences while enjoying the social benefits of physically spending time with others on our own terms.

mental health is just as important, like you dont want the entire country to get a depression... you get your avocado libaniese boi if that makes you happy

    • @earlgrey2130
      @earlgrey2130 4 года назад +12

Before corona people with mental health problems were treated like:"Stop being such a whiny bitch. Just because you were abused as a child, neglected, can't go outside without having a panic attack and feel nothing but pain for decades because you're chronically depressed doesn't mean you get to complain. Man up you bitch, make something out of yourself and be happy!"
Now everyone's like:"I can't go outside everyday when the weather is nice. I have to stay inside, have some relaxing me-time and do fun activities. Oh no.. the horror! I can't take this! Even when i risk other people's lifes.. nobody can expect me to suffer through this nightmare! We really need to worry about our mental health!"
Give me a break. It's not like we're asked much. Stay inside, wash your hands, keep a distance to people and wear your damn mask. That's nothing. The entire country will NOT get depression from such non-issues, lol.

What I'm hearing is that a lot of younger kids are having a harder time with isolation, because they don't understand. One of my friends has a toddler who screams every day about wanting to go to the park, go see grandparents, go to the library, etc. He loves people, and he can't possibly understand why his parents won't let him. He was starting to potty train, and now he just screams when they try, because he's so stressed and confused. He's going to have a brother in a month, and that's stressful enough for a kid on its own. It's also going to be harder for the parents, because they won't have as much help, and their first child is going to pick up on that, too.

Optimism isn't good when it leads to a change in behaviour where you start ignoring a real danger. Example: It's good to be optimistic about your chances of getting together with your crush. It's dumb to be optimistic that you wont trigger the bullet while playing russian roulette. In terms of corona we simply need to do what needs to be done. There is no room for personal interpretation or bending the rules. Optimism is fine, but only if it doesn't change your behaviour. What must be done, must be done. Feeling good comes second.

Valorant is a marketing scheme that appears to be working.

Valorant? You mean the game that has always on anti cheat, that has complete access to your computer and boots up the moment you turn your computer on. Oh and is controlled 100% by a company owned and operated by the Chinese government. Oh and has also been beaten by cheaters anyways, so that essentially if you install Valorant your computer gets a massive back door that you can not get rid of that is just massively exploitable.

I'm not personally a fan of Valorant because it doesn't feel very unique. My biggest gripe is that movement feels really slow. Landing from a jump or ledge slows you down a very significant amount, for instance. Recoil patterns don't make much sense because of how much randomness there is despite keeping other conditions the same. Some guns are completely overshadowed (3/4 rifles have the exact same cost at 2700, the last is 2100, just buy the other ones or save).
But to its credit, supposedly none of the streamers are paid. To some degree, what they're saying is the honest truth. IMO, it's overhyped. But that's just my opinion and only time will tell if it actually becomes an esport.

I think it's a bad mindset to not like a game just because of the graphics. I play csgo for the gameplay not because I think it looks better than another shooter.

@Your dad that's insane. Regardless of gameplay quality CS looks like trash nowadays. Six Siege and CoD both look much better.

I'm totally with Sips on this one, Valorant looks utterly "meh". Like a somewhat uglier and more boring version of Overwatch, and i dont play Overwatch anymore either lol

It doesn't really play anything like Overwatch though, much more like CSGO but with a 'simple' artstyle. I agree that it's not pretty, but it's done that way to keep the visuals clean & easy to distinguish things.

yeah but the graphics are literally worse than overwatches and overwatch came out in like 2011 or something. fun game though

The british rules are as idiotic strict as they were idiotic late. And what forever baffles me is the british self perception of not liking to bend to rules and regulations (and point at others), not like being told what to do, being stong and independent woman....
Funny how the british point at the germans in this, while having them overtaken at least 2 decades ago.
While being amonst the most authority obeying people in the western world. Which created such things as mass surveillance, preemptive censorship, a p0rn pass..., a law, what sex you're allowed to have or not, astronomical tuition fees, a ridiculous obsession with hi-viz vests, prima ministers which can unchallenged enter illegal wars with all they have to fear is an investigation and a few jokes 20 years later.... and many other things, small and big.
A response to corona which was completely lacking, and then went nonsesically overboard... both accepted and unchallenged because "The Prime minister said....".
For me it was always telling how extremely rare political demonstrations are in the Uk.... Or solidarity (students protesting alone against bancrupting tuition fees) . Nothing any gouvernment ever comes up with is opposed, challenged or protested against. "The Prime Minister" just has to mumble something about "spirit of the war" or "national security" and the strong, independent people of Britain fall in line. That is a much worse queue that could ever happen outside Lidl.
    Anyway.

if i was buying something that i wanted at the store and someone told me that i couldn't buy it because it wasn't essential, i would get so close to them that they could feel my breath and scream at the top of my lungs, "FUCK YOU". don't tell me what i can and cannot buy. if it's on a shelf, it has a price, and i want it than I'm going to buy it.
