i haven't ever been able to find english lyrics, but i can tell you this much. the song was made famous by a singer named hyun in (recording from 1969: ruclips.net/video/zhEcLE5B-iM/видео.html ) and it's about the ancient kindom of silla (57 BC - 935 AD along the eastern half of the korean peninsula). i can't find any other details about the song in english, although i suspect the song is actually earlier than 1969 and that it's probably about the perpetual war during the 3 kingdoms era between silla, baekje & goguryeo. anyway, i'm not a fan of the 1969 version because it's gugak, which is korean traditional folk music where they sing with that very pronounced vibrato, but i LOVE forestella's more classical approach.
