I once booked a mid level DJ for 2grand 😬 he didn't sell I single ticket for us. Even tho the DJ only had a 1 hour train ride from his house still demanded a 4 star hotel. Luckily we broke even but we could of made a decent amount of profit if we just used the crew
Cannot blame him! If you don't think he was worth 2k you shouldn't of paid it. I think 4* hotel is very standard. But yea, shows you headliners aren't always the way!

I'm a newbie and I want to bring an international DJ to my city. I have a venue in mind that usually hosts live international djs, how do I get an event organizing company to do all the logistics and then still get my cut without them cutting my out. I have contacted the booking manager for this particular dj to find out their fee and he responded with asking what I had In mind... I didn't get that far. I wanted to see what they cost first. They have never been to my country. They are famous but not like a David Guetta or Avicci famous. How do I get an event company to not cut me out of the deal?

I had an event in Vegas and I booked a dj out of LA. He didn't want to fly, he asked for a Cadillac Escalade rental vehicle.

How do you book the venue without knowing artist fees etc so that you know what to charge or if it is viable
