Wow, thanks for this video. I hope the up-coming djs have learnt something from this video.
Thank you once again
Would you happen to have a template for a contract?
I agree with everything spelled out in this video, but in 20 years playing public gigs, I have never had a venue rep actually follow through and sign a contract. Private events, sure. Festival organizers, yep- and provide me with their contract too. I invite any manager or rep involved in this agreement to collaborate and explain any points they want the contract to cover, but by and large, most venue managers just find ways to avoid signing anything I present, or sometimes just outright scoff because it seems everyone local is accustomed to verbal agreements. I make it clear that it’s just as much for their benefit too and so we both know going into an event what to expect from each other. It’s like they say about casinos: the house always wins
What type of event are you talking about?
And Insurance!!! Most venues require the DJ has to carry a liability insurance!!
what sets the pros from the giggers.

Great information... Are you able to share a template of your contract I can minipulate for my own?
Unfortunately no. I spent a ton of money with my attorney making my contract work for my business. Although I would love to, I just cant.
@@Jason_Jani I completely understand. Thank you for responding.
Are you just talking about a contract for weddings and parties ? Or do you present this to a booking agent ?
who drafts the contract? promoter or DJ?
Either or, I would want it written by the DJ if given a chance.
