Hindi is very important to binding multilingual Indian society. If I have to work in 5 different states I can not learn 5 different languages. It's not about BJP. It is central government's policy overall. Never forget that it was congress which tried to make Hindi the only official language of India. They inserted a clause in the constitution which makes it the central goverment's liability to promote Hindi.

    • @MrKrishna9291

Every government is mandated to make Hindi as national language. Even if a PM from south is elected as in case of Devegowda or Narsimha Rao or anyone in future, he will promote Hindi. It has nothing to do with BJP, RSS.
A central government will need a medium to connect to all as it can't publish every notification in 1600+ language. Even if anti-hindi DMK occupies center it will start promoting Hindi as it will need to communicate with northern/NE/Bengali/Gujarati people. Even they will have to bring a common language. You can't end the concept of link language.
I do understood mother tounge is important and it's duty of its native speakers to protect it and pass on to next generation. But when you are living in a such a big country a link language will be needed. It might be anyone English, Hindi or anyone else.
BTW, those chauvinist who thinks that only Hindi will destroy their mother tounge and not English should learn about English History and how many languages it has killed to become so big.
The rise and fall of language is a natural phenomenon. It is bound to happen and nothing can stop it.
We can only pass our mother tounge to next generation and hope that it goes on till it becomes more popular. No need to hate other languages.
PS : I am not a native Hindi /English speaker but could connect to you all only because we all were watching a Hindi language video and commenting in English language while our mother tounge is different.

The reason many people in the south are ready to accept English as the bridge language when compared to Hindi are 2 reasons
    1. It connects not only India but also the whole world and you increase your employability greatly.
    2. It is not a native language of any major Indian communities, Maybe for some anglo indians it's their mother tounge, but it's not major, so all language speakers in India would need to learn a new language and native one won't have a default advantage when it comes to things like entrance exams.
I don't mind if Hindi is used as a bridge language, but I feel the govt should always promote local languages.

South Indians feel extremely proud about their native language which are much older than Hindi and any attempt to force Hindi to become the dominant language will lead to another partition. I'm sure the USA, UK and China wants this to happen. Every state signed up to be part of India, not Hindia.

Sanskrit should be promoted more. South Indian protected their language for so many years.
    Kudos to them.
Edit: People who are replying how north kings protected south and south remained untouched by islamic invaders, should go read proper history.
Khilji did invaded south long before mughals. He took kohinoor after invasion in south.
After khilji tughlaq had control of south but later vijaynagara empire was formed, which gave resistance to northern muslim empire for next 100 years.
It was during that time sanskrit, kannada, telugu, tamil flourished. Kumar vyasa translated maharabharat to kannada during this time.
So stop saying south never had to fight against islamic invaders. First go read proper history.
In fact until formation of Maratha empire. Many maratha and rajputs worked for mughals and adil shah.
Maharana pratap fought against Man singh who fought for mughals.
Chhatrapati shivaji maharaj's father and half brother venkoji worked under adil shah. They defeated nayak of south.
Thankfully Venkoji promoted sanskrit and south languages while ruling thanjavur.

The biggest problem with Hindi is that it thinks that bhojpuri , awadhi, rajasthani is its enemy and their recognition will harm their no. But the opposite of these languages is its strength , they are roots of Hindi and Hindi is cutting its roots on its own . Great Work!! This video is a gem. ❤ As a Bengali, I never suppot Hindi imposition. ❌ Yes I know Hindi and English because it's my choice. But government can't make it obligatory! That will result in huge protests for sure. Also, one thing I thought worth mentioning, Bengali and Punjabi was the most important language while our freedom struggle because most of the freedom fighters were from Bengal and Punjab. If you go to Cellular jail in Andaman (kala pani k uss paar) you will find that most of the freedom fighter prisoners were Bengali and Punjabi. Also, Indian National Anthem is in "Tatsama Bengali" language close to Sanskrit. Even, "Vande mataram" was written by a great Bengalee man Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay! The only Nobel Prize in literature in whole India is a Rabindranath Tagore. 🏆 Also, I know every other Indian languages including the beautiful south Indian languages have their own pride and rich history. So, imposing Hindi would serve as the last nail to the coffin ⚰️ of Indian Unity in Diversity. Never try to impose Hindi on someone.

FYI If there were no Marathas India would no longer exist as a Hindu country. In short many communities contributed towards Independence which include Bengalis and Punjabis. In the end NS role could have been bigger than others to attain independence.

I just said that freedom fighters from Bengal and Punjab are large in number. And Bengali language had an important role in India's freedom too. That's it. And yes I already mentioned I understand Hindi because it is a choice. But you can't make it obligatory to learn Hindi in other language areas. Brothers first of all learning a new language is extremely difficult.
Many my friends from North India who are working in Bengaluru tried learning kannada and gave up.
Even for us learning hindi is extremely difficult even though we had one subject in school it is extremely difficult for us too.
Everyone must learn English even though it's hard because there is no hindi used in Engineering, medicine or any research paper, coding etc.
Even hindi people can't survive in India in any good profession without knowing English.
Many people associating hindi with patriotism. Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam,Telugu,Tulu,Marathi,Gujarathi people are as patriotic as hindi people . Hindi people are more in population doesn't make them more patriotic. Punishing south Indian because they consciously controlled population. Is it right thing.
Why can't we communicate with the language we use for job and education purpose.
Most of us use English to comment in RUclips or anywhere in social media.
Why sould then the south Indian people should learn hindi and not English which can give them much better opportunity not only in India, but
    all over the world.
However hard we criticize English but this is the language which connects India and which connect world.

Official language status is also nominal. De facto many other languages are also officially used.
eg. Marathi is the sole official language of Maharashtra. Not Hindi, not English. But in practice Govt. of Maharashtra and the various Municipal Corporations under it also utilise English, and to a lesser extent Hindi. In Ulhasnagar, all signboards are written in English and Sindhi (Persian script) because of the high Sindhi population there. Govt. also runs Kannada language schools in Kannada villages in Solapur and Kolhapur districts. It is the responsibility of the government to adapt to it citizens and provide services in their language.
Only the central government has shown some level of pigheadedness when it comes to langauge.

    • @milaanvigraham8664
      @milaanvigraham8664 Год назад +1

Please, Maharashtra govt is worse. They are forcing private establishments to put up signboards in Marathi. If you want to make language adaptable, you need to let businesses decide for themselves - they will only succeed if they put the language used commonly by that locals in that area. So whatever language they choose without force is automatically the correct one. In Mumbai they used English for so long, so clearly that was not a problem. But govt forced Marathi. They pretend Mumbai is not multiethnic and impose Marathi and Marathi nationalism constantly, with inflammatory historical claims

Why do we use English in every field of India? *(Why do we need English)*
      1) India is a *"multilingual"* country & we have a different language family's *(Indo-european, Dravidian, indo-iranian sino-tibetan, Tibeto-burman, Semitic, astro-asiatic Etc..)* & India has no _-national language-_ or any _-monolingual policy-_ the country of India is a *"union system'* and "all languages are respected equally"
      2) Only English is recognized and used as the *"2nd administrative language"* in all states of India. (After their state's official language)
      3) English is the only language used in all fields of India *(science, technology, research, education, medical, business, job field, information, space field, Navy, etc..)*
      4) India is mostly dependent on *"foreign income"* & So we need English in the field of 'business' and 'workplace'
      5) English is emerging as the future *"lingua franca"* of India and the World
      6) English is *"indispensable"* today and giving more value to "English" after our "State language" is also good for our financial empowerment.
      7) Yes there is a language problem in India! So English has grown and is growing as a language to solve that problem, This is the reality! It is better to accept reality and at the same time all the languages of India should be respected equally.
