  • I put the Model 3 motor is the narrowed subframe for the first time. With some trial and error it is now ready to put under the car and on to the next phase of the EV conversion project.

    Good stuff. I'm thinking about doing something similar, but using a Miata rear subframe and a Leaf motor and gearbox. I'm not sure yet. Hopefully it won't require as much cutting and modifying!

      I highly recommend a subframe cradle like I built and work on it on a bench or table. This cradle really made keeping everything square easy. I just slid the cradle under the car and it is so easy to get the suspension geometry where it needs to be before building the subframe mounts

      This setup is 4" narrower than stock ,Tesla Model 3 Is 65.5.
