Well, except once. I didn't watch the whole thing, I felt it was false advertising.
There was a cartoon in the 80s that never got past its pilot week, which makes me sad. It was called Vytor Starfire Champion. I was hunting for good copies of it back years ago, even getting ahold of the distributors about it. Eventually, they emailed me and said they were doing a DVD release. Needless to say I jumped on that right away and even got an animation cell from them. Anyway... I have a feeling that is one that will disappear with time. There is very little even on RUclips about this show.
I remember Count Duckula! I also thought I made him up because when I described him to anyone else around my same age, they looked at me as if I was making it up. I also thought he was a Disney character from Darkwing Duck. Edit: I remember Bravestarr (didn't remember the name) and I swear I liked it too. OOOOh! I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO REMEMBERED ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES! Really, really loved that cartoon.
Bravestarr is probably the only cartoon in this video I'm all that familiar with. I recall Konami managed to nab quite a few cartoon licenses for their games. By now, many of the licenses, like Monster in my Pocket, Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa, and, well, I'd probably argue Bucky O'Hare fits in with those as well.
Bravestarr was a genuinely good show for the time. Arguably Filmation's best. Even if it was made to be a toy commercial, Lou Scheimer's crew created a fantastic world and gave the characters tons of personality. Duckula was the GOAT as well. Like Dangermouse it was silly enough for the kids but with enough subtle, well written dialogue sprinkled in to keep adults entertained as well.
I've never noticed that George Clooney was on the Attack of the killing tomatoes... They used to air it on cable tv since the license was possibly really cheap. We used to get a lot of these b rated shows on cable back in the 80's/90's because of how cheap they were. Ketchup Vampires anyone? Also, Danger Mouse was awesome!!! Years later I found out it was a kid's version of Danger Man with Patrick McGoohan
Here is an obscure one for you - Dino City! I saw the SNES game in stores and saw one poster of the movie, but it was never brought to Hungary, or most of Europe. Even today, crappy VHSrips of it is all that we have. They did make a surprisingly complex platformer on this obscure weird little movie about time-travelling kids helping out anthro dinosaurs against evil cavemen, though. I gotta hand it to you, I have seen Muzzy in Gondoland but Bangers and Mash? Never heard of it! More obscure than even Avenger Penguins. I did know the others - in fact, Bravestarr is kinda pretty well known among MOTU and Filmation fans, being built on the same formula but perfected. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes I still remember to this day, ironically, only saw the movies well after the show. And Count Duckula had a brief return to fame in the new Danger Mouse show recently.
I had a Bravestwarr figure and I remember that long after I lost all of his accessories he dominated my action figure fighting league with only a Thor-like Super Naturals figure and one of the heroes from inhumanoids serving as rivals at the top.
When I was a child I was a huge fan of a TV-cartoon called "Captain N: The Game Master" - it's the opposite... a bunch of video games turned into a single cartoon. Some kid (and his dog too!) are sucked into his TV into a world called Videoland and has to fight all kinds of fun enemies like Mother Brain, Eggplant Wizard, and so on. His allies are Game Boy, Simon Belmont, Kid Icarus, some princess, and other notable game heroes.
Bangers and Mash: remember. Duckula: remember. BraveStarr: remember. Killer Tomatoes: remember. Ed the Duck: ...ok, you got me there. But then, I'm Australian: we had Agro, and yes he did indeed have a couple of video games.
Honestly can’t tell if the mispronunciation of Igor in the Duckula section and the constant R after Bravestarr are bits or if you’re really unsure how to pronounce. If it’s a genuine error, the intro to Bravestarr even gives you a hint 😜

I'll forever remember Bangers and Mash, cause the, ahem... 'special' lad in my primary school class would not stop singing the theme tune.
I finished Bravestarr in 5 minutes when I was a kid. On my first go. I was gutted.
Count Duckula and BraveStarr were really big in México back in the day. Source: My own Mexican self.
Gotta love ‘Brit speak’. Bangers and mash, wicked googlies, Ali-mini-um… Adele
Hahahaha yeah ya ain't wrong guv-na
Bravestarr is probably the only cartoon in this video I'm all that familiar with.
I recall Konami managed to nab quite a few cartoon licenses for their games. By now, many of the licenses, like Monster in my Pocket, Wild West C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa, and, well, I'd probably argue Bucky O'Hare fits in with those as well.
Count Duckula is a classic, period
Count Duckula was great. I’ve been rewatching it on RUclips because only season 1 was released on DVD in the USA. Igor is pretty funny,
I LOVED Count Duckula as a kid, but I'm glad I never had to play that first game!
"We Brits never really got Jim Henson quality puppetry here"
Tell that to Simon Buckley.
I remember having a VHS of Bravestarr and Ghostbusters in the 90's when I was real little.
LOL only a british game would make its title a parody of "No Sex please, We are british" :D
That BraveStarr Theme.. Goosebumps!
I remember watching Count Duckula as a kid, and Danger Mouse too
I'm living for "Hey, Sandy" in the background.
I seem to recall Ed the Duck eventually got his own cartoon series.
But he started out as a puppet, so technically he's not a cartoon character.
19:32 I actually remember seeing the NES game at a video rental store. Thankfully I never rented it
Count Duckula has one of the best intros & theme songs ever 🎵
I've never noticed that George Clooney was on the Attack of the killing tomatoes... They used to air it on cable tv since the license was possibly really cheap. We used to get a lot of these b rated shows on cable back in the 80's/90's because of how cheap they were. Ketchup Vampires anyone? Also, Danger Mouse was awesome!!! Years later I found out it was a kid's version of Danger Man with Patrick McGoohan
"Obscure cartoons"
>Shows a clip of Beast Wars, a Transformers cartoon, and plays the theme song to Darkwing Duck, a Disney classic
In the sequel Edd the Duck can drown in the water near the train.
They're a duck 🤣🤣🤣
Pete and pete- Hey Sandy by Polaris. Nice.
I’m British and BraveStarr is the only one of these I didn’t come across as a preteen!
Wait, so Count Duckula is in the Marvel Universe? 🤔
Right! I want Count Duckula in the next Marvel film! 😊 Most definitely!
If anyone is hunting the Count Duckula DVDs, heard there's 4 seasons, but can only find 3 sets, don't panic, season 4's eps are in the 3rd set.
Count Duckula was the bomb. Loved that show as a kid
I used to watch Danger Mouse as a kid. I didn't remember until I saw this. Thanks
The Pete and Pete Theme🔥🔥!!!!
You definitely catered this episode to the British LOL
Honestly can’t tell if the mispronunciation of Igor in the Duckula section and the constant R after Bravestarr are bits or if you’re really unsure how to pronounce. If it’s a genuine error, the intro to Bravestarr even gives you a hint 😜
I quite well remember seeing Count Duckula on Nickelodeon. Also remember Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.
I loved count duckula and victor & Hugo (bunglers in crime) lol.
As an American, Bangers and Mash makes me wonder what other "ear worm" cartoon themes we've missed out on over the decades.
You sound EXACTLY like WhatCulture’s Simon Miller. Not an insult in anyway, it’s just uncanny. Cheers mate!
Count duckula definitely not forgotten it was very popular and I think everyone remembers it
Man I love Killer Tomatoes! Tara, oh man!
I enjoyed Knight Lore on the ZX Spectrum. It's kind of my go to game when I play it now.
