This was done in tandem to moving. Firing while moving to keep the enemy's head down was the theory. I remember back in the day playing COD2 online and always struggling with the Enfield (believe it was the mk4 there) aperture sight. In fast paced combat I would always mistake one of the sight protectors as the actual front post. The front post was lower but I think the issue was that the sight protectors are also straight up vertical rather than curved.

Babe wake up, Jonathan Ferguson, keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK, which houses thousands of weapons from throughout history has dropped a new video
There was a VC won at Arnhem by an officer (Major Robert Cain of the 2nd Souths Staffs part of the Air Landing Brigade) who was bothering Germans with a 2" Mortar being used in the 'direct fire mode' after they had run out of PIATS!
One without much firearm experience here, shouldn't the revolver like, needs to revolve its cylinder after each firing? Why does our Webley here doesn't rotate when firing but only swirl on reloading?
As an old soldier I loved the LMG (7.62). Hated carrying the thing. Absolutely hated the release catch which used to get caught up in my webbing belt sometimes causing the entire weapon to disintegrate. Not good in the dark in the middle of a wood. But firing it? Could hit a mosquito up the backside at 300 yards.
A lot of those videos are shooting outside when you shoot inside it has more of an echo which is really cool that they did that because not many games change the difference from inside shots to outside shots specially when it comes to decibels but I think that's just for hearing purposes I'm not sure I couldn't tell you I mean whatever but when it comes to accuracy of firearms this is one of the few games that get it right when it comes to Old world war II firearms
Oh Jonathan Ferguson, the keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armories Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history, how I still wish for you to look at the firearms of the Killzone series. I honestly think you'd have a field day with it.
A good thing would be Squad44 (Post Scriptum), it gets so many things righht, like the lee enfield thumb grip or detaching a clip out of the M1 Garand!
I normally wouldn't recommend a demo for this series, but I think Jonathan would get a real kick out of some of the oddball weapons in Sulfur. The Palehorse in particular is gonna make him laugh, I think :P
If I remember correctly (probably not), the Lewis gun was one of the most hated LMG's during both world wars. Not only was it a pain to reload and carry, but filling up the magazines was a chore in of itself.
Project Lightening, run by C&Rsenal and Ian McCollum, actually concluded that the Lewis was the best overall LMG from WW1. If you check out their collection of RUclips videos, you can see how they evaluated those weapons and the others in the evaluation.
Indeed - I did say this, I presume it got cut out for time? We went back to the old pause and speak method for this so I rambled for longer than of late :)
the No1 MkIII originally wasn't in the game because they wanted to balance the British by giving them a P14 with only 5 rounds but it was wildly historically inaccurate so they conceded and went with the No1 which performs pretty much the same as the No4, just personal preference on what sights you prefer.
I have to say the reload rate should be higher on the Lee Enfields. I’ve been outgunned against a KAR98 as he seemed to reload faster. Might just be me though!
If you want to show off a really big gun you could walk it across the camera. It'd be funny for the muzzle break to appear and go off the other side of the screen before Jonathan gets into frame and then goes off frame before the back of the gun.

Would love to see a reaction to the guns of Squad44/post scriptum particularly the french and greek factions
Apparently firing the PIAT as you do in the game is a very good way of getting yourself a dislocated shoulder
A good thing would be Squad44 (Post Scriptum), it gets so many things righht, like the lee enfield thumb grip or detaching a clip out of the M1 Garand!
Another reason you can have varying rate of fire is because of spring tension on the magazines. I see that on full auto m16s all the time.
I normally wouldn't recommend a demo for this series, but I think Jonathan would get a real kick out of some of the oddball weapons in Sulfur. The Palehorse in particular is gonna make him laugh, I think :P
Modded S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has some cool stuff.
Try Anomaly or some such.
Here's hoping for Johnathan to look at FEAR's guns.
SOLDIER OF FORTUNE
just adding to the rest 11:53 kepp tapping this for a giggle
Jonathan Ferguson Drinking game suggestions: "Girder" and "Freakish"
Love the work. You should consider having Jonathan look at the weapons of the Max Payne games as well as the first Resident Evil remake.
johnathan’s back must hurt from carrying this entire channel
once again requesting for Jonathan to react to the guns of Cruelty Squad
Hello there. I hope you’re all having a nice weekend.
I never expected Jonathan Ferguson, a weapons expert and Keeper of Firearms & Artillery at the Royal Armouries to say "Just the tip"
I have asked a few times in the past but no harm in asking again please show him post scriptum known
as squad 44 these days i believe
3:08 the hammer doesn't look like it's working like it should (the hammer goes back when it's fired, and back forward after the fact)

It should be called a Tpod instead of a bipod
i would love to see a video on the guns of squad 44
I second this!
wwww
"It doesn't go far in, just the tip"
Been there brother😔
