The game has nice little detail about K98k when you see other soldiers sprinting with this gun. They're holding them with one hand by the middle which was part of a combat drill for German soldiers.

Yeah I think they're going to copy the RO2 mechanic of soldier identification : axis powers hold the firearm in one hand while allied powers hold it with both hands which facilitate both limitating TKs and target aquiring. Since this games allow limited customization it would be good to have this mechanic especially from afar.

Rifleman is a class for begginers who don't want to take a role that other one will use better than them or a role for when almost every useful role is already taken. Personaly I wouldn't level up rifleman if it's not on puntual games where you use it for the second reason, because for when you will be able to level it up near to g43 loadout you would be a more experienced player so reason one is a nonsense. As they were sold that “WW2 has never been played the way it was meant to”. It was shoved to people as a realistic world war 2 shooter, with a proper command structure whilst also have RTS elements with the supplies and all that shit. Let’s look at that now then shall we?
The game is more akin to a slightly more “realistic” battlefield hardcore than anything else. It’s so realistic when 5/6 men in your squad in the German side have MP40s Whisky the other guy is hauling 6 drum mags for his MG42 without issue.
And the RTS? Guess we can go fuck ourselves. They release the game out of beta and still change KEY GAME FEATURES, nodes are brain dead. They were always shitty, but now? Now it’s just “put them literally anywhere”. There is no strategy about nodes. Like most all kickstarters, it’s unkept promises upon unkept promises. The development of this game should be a case study in community management. What they do is what you don’t do. The community manager never talks on the discord, and let’s the poor fucken programmer say his opinion and it always ends up biting them in the ass. It’s just kinda pitiful, and this is coming from someone that is in the competitive scene from the game, and has met some of my best friends through it. In my opinion the thing that Hell Let Loose and practically every other game gets wrong with the portrayal of iron sights isn’t a technical limitation but a simple failure of logic. There is a confusion going on between the 3D character model in the 3D world, the 3D model of the rifle itself, the viewpoint of the character in that world and how that viewpoint should be presented to the player so it accurately as possible represents the viewpoint of the character model. They model the gun as though the character model isn’t holding the rifle as they would in reality (with the rear sight very close to their eye) but awkwardly at about a foot or so in front of his face. At this distance it becomes necessary to make changes to the rear sight to stop it obstructing the overall sight picture. No account is given to the fact that the person using the “sight picture” is not the 3D character model themselves but the player sitting at least another foot or more from the screen. Therefore it becomes necessary for the screen to simulate what the player would see if he was using the sight (as opposed to what the character model “sees”) - ie much more “zoomed in”, the rear sight large in the field of view but in the periphery and de-focused, with the focus being on the front sight. There are actually some games that get this right, two off the top of my head are the original Operation Flashpoint and the Brothers in Arms games. If you don’t know what I’m talking about just google image Brothers in Arms iron sights and you will see what I mean.

This is due to the fact that in most cases they simply wish to make the M1 garand slightly more balanced due to the significantly smaller sight as compared to the video game counterpart. If it was smaller it would create a disadvantage due to the fact that the screens are flat and static, whereas when actually using the rifle in real life you'd be able to use your peripheral vision to see around the sight and get a better picture. It's simply because the screens are flat and there's no real easy way to see around it when you are looking down the sight.

The Stg44 is limited to only two roles in game on those being the Automatic Rifleman(Which is the standard weapon of this class), and the Assaulter Role(Which you unlock at Assaulter level 9). So the implementation of the STG 44 is very limited as not every squad in every match has either or both of these roles within their six man element. Great video as well!

A lot of times in games you’ll have an optic with a 4x, 6x, 10x etc magnification setting that is zoomed unlike its 25x. Realistically those targets would be small in comparison and it is very well executed there in the video. Quite noticeable for those of us that shoot a lot with magnified optics. Like, a lot of games have featured rifles or SMGs with grenade launcher attachments, but seldom have I seen master key attachments (Last game before KF2 that had that option that I played was Metal Gear Solid 5).
Another idea, have Jonathan look at the gun customization and potential combinations in Metal Gear Solid 5. Several shotguns can be unlocked as under-barrel attachments, as well as grenade launchers and even pistols. You could have a tranquilizer sniper rifle with a suppressed .45 as an under-barrel, or an anti-materiel rifle with a suppressed tranq pistol under-barrel, or even an assault rifle with a shotgun or grenade launcher under-barrel. Couple this with two primary weapon slots and a pistol slot and you can dump truck on any enemy once your research development has progressed enough.

Could you do a video on weapons on Post Scriptum? It's a WWII game very similar to Hell Let Loose but the detail is better (M1A1 Thomson sights, M1 Garand sights are narrower)
And you can cover British/Commonwealth weapons (Brens, Lee Enfields, rifle grenades) Early war German guns (Madsen LMG (I know it's Danish), MP38), Later war German guns (Gewher41/43,FG42, ) French guns, such as Berthier, Lebel. And the usual Yank guns, Thompsons, Garands (with rifle grenades) M1 Carbines, M3A1 Grease guns, M19A6 Brownings

If you pause at 6:07 you can see two little holes on the upper handguard. This means its a 4 rivet handguard which were used (or produced) in the winter of 1944. Only a 2 of the 6 maps that let you play as the Americans are set after that time period.
