- At the 2018 CrossFit Games Laura became the Second Fittest Woman on Earth. She was called the CrossFit Rookie of the Year, making a huge impression on her first ever appearance in the CrossFit Games, in Madison, where she took over elite athletes that have been competing and dominating the top positions for years now.
With a background in climbing, Laura Horvath is one of the youngest, most skilful and determined CrossFit athletes in the world. Curious what drives her and how she is getting ready for this year’s CrossFit Open and Regional? We spent one day with her to find out who Laura Horvath really is.

its really nice to see how she isnt used up yet. shes just being herself. with the big names in crossfit you can feel how they have gotten used to interviews and all that so the camera presence differs from them being off camera. laura doesnt have that yet and thats really refreshing i find. excited to see her first games title. seeing how she podiumed this year and (if she kept up what she said in this vid) all that without "perfect" nutrition etc she has got to win it at some point...

Well, speaking as an Australian, after watching the crossfit games, I think Tia will have her work cut out for her holding off Laura next year. Tia is an amazing athlete but I feel like her only real advantage over Laura is a bit of extra raw power (Tia is so strong for her size, wins crossfit total at 58 kg when there are lots of girls 10+ kg heavier, wow). When Laura starts taking her diet and strength training more seriously, like she probably will this year... look out world lol.
I think Tia's advantage over Laura is more than raw power. I think Tia has incredible technique which has enabled her to get ahead of the other athletes who may actually have greater raw power.
I agree....I think if this becomes a full time gig (which I think it is for her now) for her, she's staged to become the next Froning/Fraser and win several games in a row, including next year's. Watching this year's games, a few tweaks here and there and she would've won. I love that ambassadors of the sport are like Laura, Tia, Katrin, Annie, etc.; good people.
True....also, she went unbroken on that last walk and Tia didn't.
