It's still useful 5 years after you made this. Thanks.

Ah Pinoy! Us too. ;) Took about 10 minutes. Thank you.
The everlasting Toyota Sienna is the most common Pinoy family 'car'.

I feel so stupid. The daughter has a door-terrorizing gene from the mother. So all the door cables are stretched. I Mickey moused the side doors. Tried all sorts of stuff.
But the fishing sinker was the intelligent brain solution! Thank you for helping out a slower American.
The daughter managed to break all the door latches. But hey, it is old! She could not break the metal hatch replacement. But she could then stretch the cables.
Well, the van at 24 years I guess was coming due. The sinker solution is exactly what I needed to fix it and forget all this. Thank you!
PS The door-terrorizing gene did not activate after she bought her own Honda. I guess it must require a Toyota to activate. ;)
Thank you so much! So helpful!

Followed the instructions, added the fishing line sinker (essential) and it's now working fine. Thank you!

Great video... no breaks on disassembly!
    $5 FIX :
I took mine all apart and took a look at the broken plastic piece... took some CRAZY GLUE and a popsicle sticks to reenforce The broken plastic... sprinkled the wet CRAZY GLUE with baking soda and let every dry ! It still looked like it needed reenforcement so I took some epoxy stick I had in stock and coated everything ! Two hours later everything dry & put back together and better than NEW! Poor design on the original part thats for sure!

Thank you for making this, I've now had 2 Siennas do this to me, very annoying. I "Macguyvered" the first with some weird electrical lug nut contraption on the black plastic door handle actuator, and I lack that same piece to replicate my first success. This video helps.

I don't need to fix it. My son loaned me his Toyota Sienna LE (I don't know the year) and the remote does not have an open hatch button, his plane just took off for a week vacation, I drive a Dodge Stratus 2001
