Exact same problem, My fix was to replace the 25amp fuse under the hood where you show the fuse location. The fuse tested good, but removing it and replacing it might have reset something. Previously I had disconnected the negative from battery to reset, but that didnt work. By removing and replacing the 25a fuse (even thou it's good), the circuit reset, and all working fine again. Hope this helps someone else.

Your fuse trick worked for me after failing with the battery disconnect. Thanks,

IMPORTANT TIP: We couldn't get the wires to pop out of the white plastic holder so I used two house wires and connected them carefully to the car battery, flipping the wires each time to get the gears on the actuator lined up perfectly. The Sienna computer resets in under 2 minutes once the negative on the battery is disconnected. We only had success with getting the switch to activate for the first attempt after each resetting of the computer. We didn't know what stage the actuator had to be at so it was trial and error for us. One stage only got the door to seal, and the handle button still wouldn't make it release. I was so excited when this finally worked... wow. Thanks Beethaovin1! Thank you thank you thank you! Your video was excellent and your generosity in making it even better. Incredible.

Ya you can pull the fuse in the front power panel in the engine bay. on the right second red one down. ECM-B to reset the door takes 10min for the DTC to clear. but it will and it will let the door run again. Don't freek. Also TOYOTA.COM has the repair manual for FREE online. So you can test all the pins. ELEC motor and switch Values with the meter are all there. 10Kohm for the switches and lower position switch. 4ohm for the motor.

Thank you so much! You have saved us $. it was very helpful especially when you have completed everything and still didn’t work until you have rebooted the computer by disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. It worked for us. You have done a very well job! Thanks for this video again!

Thank you for this video. I just replaced my liftgate with one from the junkyard and the door motor won't operate. I switched the original motor onto the new liftgate and still nothing. I have tested the switches for continuity and they are all good. I have not been able to isolate the problem. I am going to try to disconnect the battery tomorrow and see if that resets the computer.

So perhaps, the best thing to do is to disconnect and reconnect the battery before going through all that disassemble process?

So this really only applies to the power back door latch, not the kind I have without the motor in a 2009 van.

I have a 2007 sienna limited. sometimes the automatic rear door will not open with the key fob or the inside over head latch. and some times it works fine. Makes no sound or anything when it won't work. Do you have any idea what it might be. when this happens the push button on the door also will not work.

Hi beethaovin... I replaced my 2010 damage door with an 06 door which didn't have motorized lock. So i took all the parts and wire on the replacement door. Everything is working except the lock. Earlier motor won't work either but after resetting it started to work but door won't open with the button. Any thing else i can check to see what could be wrong?

    • @beethaovin1
      @beethaovin1  8 месяцев назад

Have you check the door switch on/off at the bottom left of the driver side and the child door safety lock on the door. Make sure the door switch is turned on. check and make sure the wires are still attached to the back of the button and it's making goon contact. Check the button on the door, making sure the wires are connected.
Here are some trouble shooting suggestions:
      DESCRIPTION
      • The power slide door operates only when the power slide door main switch is ON (switch free: orange paint on the top of the switch appears). The power slide door ECU RH controls the power slide door RH, which activates the slide door motor to open / close the slide door.
      • A request signal from the satellite switch for the power slide door RH is input to the the driver side junction block ECU, which then sends this request signal using a BEAN line to the power slide door ECU RH.
      • A request signal from the power slide door control switch RH is directly input to the power slide door ECU RH.
      • When the child lock is in the locked condition, the power slide door control switch RH is disabled, thus the power slide door RH is not activated by this switch.
      • When the touch sensor has an open / short-circuit, closing of the power slide door is disabled.
      1. BASIC INSPECTION
      (a) Conditions necessary for the power slide door to open:
      (1) Power slide door main switch is in the ON position (switch free: orange paint on the top of the switch appears).
      (2) Slide door is unlocked (door lock position switch is in the ON position when the slide door is fully closed).
      (3) Shift lever is in the P position when the ignition switch is ON (When the ignition switch is OFF, the power slide door operates at any position of the shift lever.)
      (b) Conditions necessary for the power slide door to close:
      (1) Power slide door main switch is in the ON position (switch free: orange paint on the top of the switch appears).
      (2) Slide door is between approximately the half-open position and the fully open position.
      (3) Slide door touch sensor is not damaged and deformed.
For "Power Slide Door RH does not Operate When Satellite Switch is Pressed", the troubleshooting list is
      1. ECU-B fuse
      2. Power slide door main switch
      3. Satellite switch
      4. Power slide door control switch RH
      5. Power slide door touch sensor RH
      6. Power slide door motor and clutch RH
      7. Power slide door lock assembly RH
      8. Slide door release actuator assembly RH
      9. Power slide door ECU RH
      10. Instrument panel J/B assembly (Multiplex network body ECU)
      11. Wire harness

Thanks @@beethaovin1for your response. When i said its motorized that means same motor like yours not power door. Also finally back door does not have child safety switch. But the best part its finally working. Toyota service manual suggested off/lock/unlock. I think door opener assembly switch was not registering the door as closed.

So the Fix was to disconnect the battery for about 20 minutes?

    • @beethaovin1
      @beethaovin1  6 лет назад +4

Donald Moy yes. The battery was low. The day before. After it was charged. The door was still not working. But, After disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes. The computer resets and the door started working again.
