My late mother passed away some years ago, she had diabetes type two for many years and eventually affected her kidney. I was diagnosed prediabetic two years ago. Since then, I try my best to eat healthy and accompanying with walking after every meals. I do not drink nor smoke too. My blood test three weeks ago came back, I manage to lower my HbA1c level back to normal range. Dr. Chan you are right, People are not cursed even they are genetically prone to a certain illness, with lifestyle change and motivation, people can have a very good chance to remain healthy.
Happy to hear that you are doing well. Do continue to explore healthy eating habits, I always tell my patients that the goal is NOT about forcing oneself to eat healthy, but all about learning to Love Foods that will Love Us Back. Blessings, Dr Chan
Yes! Having a family history of diabetes need not be a 'curse' if you are activated by that to make a more conscientious and committed effort to lead a healthy lifestyle and eating habits. Blessings, Dr Chan
I've just come across your channel. I find the videos to be very interesting, and like many often think of improving my eating habits. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for your encouraging words, they encourage me to press on to make videos. Your kind words is a breath of fresh air from negative and hateful comments that I sometimes receive and get discouraged by. Thanks and appreciated. Blessings, Dr Chan
