Don't Count Calories - Dr Chan shares 3 Reasons WHY
The entire video is just you repeating yourself with small amounts of new info, and then asking me to watch your other videos for more info.... no thanks. Waste of time.
I agree fully with your argument.
I have Type 2 Diabetes. I tried Steel Cut Oats but I'm switching back to Rolled Oats. The reason is that I measured by volume, not by weight. I use a Soup Spoon to measure my oats (and I only eat 1 spoon). A spoon of Rolled contains much less Oats than a spoon of Steel Cut because Steel Cut is a much smaller size than Rolled so there's much more of them in a spoonful. To use a Teaspoon sized portion of Steel Cut would look and feel unsatisfying in terms of volume. Rolled Oats also require less chewing. I eat my Oats with Natural Yogurt & Vanilla Yogurt, Soluble Fiber, various Seeds & Nuts, and a tiny amount of Low-Fat Milk (because Full Cream is too rich and makes me feel bloated).
I guess there is a misunderstanding Dr, it’s not necessary to eat Brown Basmati rice which again is hard to digest since it has a bran layer left on the rice, therefore nutrients are high but the kernel has more GI. Switch to SELLA Basmati and more so if it’s type 1121 for Low GI benefit and fluffy character - guaranteed lowers sugars and helps in diet
I am 67 years old and I have been exercising for over 50 years. I'm a power lifter and fitness trainer and I run and two weeks ago I cycled 70 kilometers for four hours. I don't use fake protein powder, I make protein 4 times a week from oats, banana, honey, dates, berries and buttermilk and more. I soak the oats for three hours and I eat oats in moderation. Last week I had a check-up with the doctor I'm completely healthy.
try cooked rice refrigerated for at least 12 hrs
Catch no balls. TLDR version pls.
I eat my oats every morning with sunflower seeds, sesame seeds and white natural yoghurt. I let it soak over night in the fridge and I love it. Sometimes I eat it twice a day. No sugar, of course. Don't eat sugar at all (exception: fruits (but no smoothies)).
How does a person reduce internal visceral fat? & How does one know how much Visceral fat they have inside them?
Love basmati rice
This is a must video for EVERYONE!!!! Chan explains a never-ending problem re: good health EXACTLY!!!!
Don't trust Chinese doctors, probably undercover for the CCP. Too much dribble out of their gob.
Excellent advice. Thank you, doctor!
When will you tell us ?
Hello Dr. Chan🙋🏻♀️ I’m here in California and I have a son who is in college and was just diagnosed with diabetes. And the Dietitian that he was referred to…was a d***y! I am so very happy to have found a smart DOCTOR! I’m being truthful that I’ve probably gone through dozens of “DIABETIC DR’S CHANNELS”…and I’m sticking with you for my son and my new way of eating! And I will be taking notes and following you on all your other social media channels! Dr. Chan from a very grateful mama…Bless you…I was very worried but now I have the help of a wonderful physician…Thank you from Lola & Jack✌🏼🙏🏼

So WHICH RICE IS IT
I have quaker oats.
Thank you I needed to hear this . I’ve been thinking of giving up on trying to quit my bad habits . But this just video just made me realize why I keep trying .
I am so delighted to receive your message. I needed to hear it too, that my effort to create encouraging content has reached people who needed them. THANK YOU.
I just tried cooking white basmati rice for the first time two days ago . For some reason I thought it would taste just like long grain white rice rice and I used the the Same amount of water and spices I would use in white rice . But it seems like it absorbed all the flavor or maybe white basmati rice have more pronounced flavors so it his the seasoning. But can any help me make my white basmati rice taste good I’m open to any suggestions 😊
Thanks for the info...learned about the mistakes but have no idea where that leaves me.
Cool, FYI cooked Brown Basmati the other day for 1st. time. Gave it a 1/2 hr. soak before using the rice cooker, it went well, grains stayed whole and soft and didn't get all starchy.. TY for your content easy to understand..
YeS Yes🙏🌲☀️🤎
doctor!!!! I'm looking for info on Bitter Melon!!! you gave me NOTHING.
This doctor is after RUclips money he is not directly giving us the information we need he likes beating around the bush
Good information, but be aware that at least one "trusted" brand was found to have roundup, the pesticide - very, very dangerous. Stick to brands that explicitly and strictly avoid chemicals.
so basically everything we eat is bad for us. this is getting crazy. can we still drink water? oh, wait. cannot do that either.
What foods do you recommend for lipoedema patients who can not eat any grains, startches, and foods/fruitd with a naturally high sugar content because those food categories asterbate the lipoedema disease itself? ( Spelled LIPEDEMA in the US and LIPOEDEMA in the rest of the world . An adipose disease where the damaged fat cells filled with lymphatic fluids can't be lost like regular fat cells with diet and/or exercise but the regular fat can be. This genetic, painful, advancing, non cureable adipose disease affects 1 out of every 11 women on the planet.
Thank You, it helps. Living with Diabetes I had to change. Lifestyle change was hard.
Yes, lifestyle and dietary change & improvement necessary for everyone, I always emphasise to people, including my patients, to have a healthy mindset towards food, that we should be Mindful of but NOT Fearful of unhealthy foods.
Also bad in mind that people react differently with regards to blood sugar levels to the same food. In other words you could give two people identical LOAD of Basmati rice from the same bowl and those two people could have a different reaction t in relation to their blood sugar levels. In other words, no size fits all.
Im still confused… which basmati rice is healthiest for losing weight?
Hi Dr. Chan! Awesome video as always!! I do not see sugar, or any food, as poison. I choose to not put sugar (or any additives) in my drinks...black tea, and water...and pick foods with no sugar, or minimal sugar. If I eat out, and want a treat with sugar every once in a while, I will have it, but I do not have negative thoughts about it, because I know that my overall diet is very low sugar. I re-watch your videos frequently, and have learned so much from you!! Have a great week!
Hi, glad you found it useful. I did this video because many people have this wrong mindset, approach towards diet and health, a black and white divide - foods are either 'Superfoods' or 'Poison'. To me, this is very unhealthy. I know the topics of my videos wld not capture attention in the way videos with eye catching titles that excessively demonise or promote certain foods would, so I am glad you found them useful. Blessings, Dr Chan
@@TheHabitsPharmacy 🙏!!
Basmati rice should be eaten in small amounts because it can cause imbalance in your doshas if eaten in excess. Once eaten in small amounts which can keep your doshas in balance. However, i eat some basmati rice yrsterday checked my blood sugar levels it seemed to have lowered
Thanks for the cancer. Thanks for the disease.
Thank you, Dr. Bill Gates. 🙏
First time discovering your video, love it, direct to the points, no nonsense talk and come with summary. Keep up with it and thanks for the sharing ❤❤❤👍👍👍
Thank you for your encouraging words. Blessings
What happens if oats is consumed without cooking? Like eat with just cold milk and raisins
This is how I eat rolled oats.
Thank you for clearing up some confusion about rice. As with fruits and vegetables the colored varieties are healthier. Brown, red, or black rice has hull on so is lower glycemic index. White rice regardless of the variety is most certainly refined. Changing to a different variety of rice or color cannot cause reversal of diabetic symptoms. Lifestyle is a major player in control of diabetes. I’ve noticed your other videos on this topic. Keep up the good the good work.
Glad you found it useful. Blessings
Wise words Dr. Chan, thank you.
Glad you found it useful. Blessings
Pharmaceutical is a scam
Go straight to the points
A nice thought indeed, doctor! Thanks for sharing, love your videos :)
Glad you like them! From my experience teaching and coaching people to make lifestyle and diet change to control their chronic conditions, including diabetes, I find that people don't need medical information as much as they need inspiration or motivation to do what's needed for their health, so I try my best, but alas, such 'Inspiration' videos are not as well received as 'Information' videos ..... but I try my best nonetheless. Blessings
