Where do we begin. Simply put. Sanitation. Loosen rubber seals and prior to cleaning and less risk for contamination. Reaching with squegees around all edges without scratching and folding the tint. Everything to perfect the end result and avoiding re-doing the install.
Using a metal 'tool' (bent screwdriver?) and poking around plastic door panel? Thought authorized Audi service partners had specialized (plastic) inserts for 'sensitive' actions like that... Hm...
planck000 haha I always mention that I use a variety of tools , and that "bent screwdriver" is known as an awl . I always recommend to use whatever tools you're comfortable with so you won't damage anything. And as you can see from the video no specialized tools are required.
Fantastic, thanks! Not sure how to proceed with creaks coming from both rear panels, still afraid to leave the car with authorized Audi dealer. Seems as if they forgot some tape while fitting integrated shades (rear panels), intermittent creaks / like a 'self adhesive tape' drying up and producing some sound, come and go (sometimes car not even moving :-) . I'm afraid that if they poke around the panels, more creaks would come later on... New Q5, came in July 2017, custom order
planck000 It almost sound like the rear panels were not completely attached. The "pops" that hold those door panels on could be a little loose . Make a fist and hit the panel all the way around the edge of the panels. German cars are known NOT to make sounds like you're describing , so I can't think of anything else off the top of my head. And as long as the panel is removed correctly and reinstalled correctly it shouldn't make any additional sounds.
Took some courage to hit the rear panels :-), good thing - no damage done. At first seemed it somehow helped, but today again have noticed this 'peeling' / 'crackling' sound. As if someone really left behind some tape, or did not trim the ends of plastic connectors, or something... Anyhow now I've started noticing intermittent 'cracks' coming from front dash as well as from the roof. Not hallucinating, but just a bit dissapointed as the rest of the car is very good and it 'looks' good inside. However, when you touch things inside as if every plastic panel 'gives' a bit and prone to producing squeaks / cracks, etc.
Saved me this morning! Thank you for the quality video!
No problem that's why I do these videos !
Do you know how to remove the actually door from a Audi? And do you have to through the door panel to remove the actually door?
Thank you I pull the gasket out and I found your video you save my a$$
Hi, thanks for your video, are the corner felts / gaskets welded like other Audi ?
K A F Tinting I don't believe so.. could be tho
Thx for your help. I would brake something, for sure, if it wasn’t for the video 😉🤙🏻
Great video! Thanks!
Audi 2017 how to reinstall door mirror?
Why do you need to take the side panel off to tint the windows?
