I think the 3080 is good at 1440p for a couple more years, if developers add in fsr 3 frame generation support then the 3080 will be good for quite a few years .
Yea it is like saying that 4070 and 4070 ti will be obsolete in 2-3 years. That's not gonna happen. 3080 is equivalent to 4070 and 3080 ti - 3090 are equivalent with 4070 ti so all of those gpus will be good for the next 5 years to come AT LEAST.
Yeah, maybe at 1080p the way games are going without frame generator it’s gonna really hurt the 3080 can’t compare the 3080 to anything in the 40 lineup because the 40 lineup has frame generator which pushes it well beyond the 3080
@@Goblue734 Yea frame generation pushes the fps a lot but it renders the game at even lower resolution than dlss and you can see the image being a little worse and blury. Also you need more vram for frame generation and overal it doesn't translate raw performance. You can have frame generation with all rtx gpus now thanks to amd. Just need tweaking and stuff. Not out of the box.
@@RTX4080SUPERGAMING amd frame generator is horrid I tried using it in avatar on my RTX 4090 so much latency Nvidia does it way better because it’s on a hardware level and not a software level which feels jank. And people keep talking about fake frames and upscaling but that’s just the future man so at the end of the day you use the tools at your disposal in the 3080 just doesn’t have that tool at its disposal so therefore I look at it as a disadvantage, one that will hurt the life of the 30 series. Just like not having DLSS hurt the life of the 10 series fsr sucks in comparison.. I will say however, I blame these problems on Nvidia because I see no reason why a lot of these technologies can’t be used on their older cards for example frame generator on the 30 series.
Sometimes I fall into thinking “what about 4k? ray tracing? DLSS 3?” I consider upgrading from my 3080, but then I see a video like this and realize how rock solid it is at 1440p. I was fortunate to get it used at $400 including shipping a few months ago 😊

Considering that the gpu voltage is 0.8v, the temperature is in the low 60s, and the power is maintained lower than 250w, you ran the game by undervolting the graphics card. The 3080, which is famous for high heat generation, is Ryzen. It's interesting to see that the temperature is much lower than the 5800x.

FSR 3 mods are out for games like 2077 and Alan Wake and they work quite well. Saving for 5090.
Bought one used for a fairly good price, along with my first 1440p monitor. I can safely say the thing is still a beast
I've gotten a mining 3080, I usually play at 4K with similar undervolt setting (because of overheating). Great GPU.

you should try DLDSR with DLSS.
i think that 3080 would last at least for 2 more years... newer games like alan wake are too gpu heavy
