I personally like education edition, while I see why your complaints on the periodic table being tedious and boring, it adds another level of depth and enjoyably in things you could do in the game without modding it. I also have a fond memory of it in highschool as in 2018-2019 someone who was taking AP Computer Science, a college level course, was bored and had created a zip file that would run an old version of minecraft, 1.15 or 16, and was shareable via google drive. Google drive accounts are done for each student and allows it to be shared across the entire county, and while to get it you needed to know someone with the zip file, it readily spread throughout the school. After getting my hands on it, I had also sent it to a friend in the local middle school, who then spread it there as well. This was despised by the teachers as students would readily rush through their work to get play on it or not even do it, and the only way to stop a student was to take control of the computer and manually close it down, which after giving control back, students would just reopen it and go again. Come next year after summer break, the students came back to every single computer now having the education edition installed, this was also applied to every other school in the county, not just one. So now everyone had it, not just those with the zip file, meaning more people where playing it, irritating the teachers more. My guess looking back at it now is that the school system decided it was smarter to just fork over the money over having students just run a pirated version on the school computers, but I still find it funny.
TL:DR: Highschool student forced an entire county to install Minecraft Education Edition on every computer because he made a zip file that ran Minecraft and shared it with fellow students.

I have done it with a friend of mine before and it worked perfectly, though there were a few problems with windows firewall before. also every one and a while it won't show the lan world on the screen but I believe there is a fix for that, haven't been able to test it out yet though

It worked! For some reason the teacher forgot to deop everyone, or maybe the teacher didn’t even know what that was in the first place. So I decided to deop everyone except for myself and my friend, and I proceeded to place TNT everywhere and grief the tutorial world along with spawning ender dragons, withers, and ravagers everywhere… It was a lot of fun lol. For some reason, the teacher was completely oblivious to it and did nothing to stop me as everyone else was really confused and panicking… until the next day when my teacher deoped me and my friend, but she forgot to take me out of creative mode, and for the rest of that semester my fellow classmates had to deal with my shenanigans in-game. good times man, good times

Honestly most of these features would be soo nice in normal minecraft especially things like the camera and its functionality. If they were to bring some of these features over, they definitely have to have easier crafting recipes lol

Having items or entities emit light is something they probably don't want to code into the game, or will cause some technical challenges. See also, glow squid. Also glowsticks IRL don't give enough light for you to run around in caves with.

    • @a2e5
      @a2e5 2 года назад +2

In the optifine days on Java (yeah I know it is still there) the mod used to make off-hand torches act as a light source on the client side only. Might not work well with glow sticks though since they are a party thing so you’d want many players seeing the effect.
(Or maybe you don’t need to do anything to the light engine? Just make the glowtorch texture ignore light levels and always appear bright when held on-hand, so it shines in a dim environment)

Perhaps some Advanced Configuration like NPC Raycast (Fires when npc spots a target like the player) or

    1. My teacher hosted a building contest to build the school, and all my classmates were put into a few different teams. I don't remember who won, but I know it wasn't my team.
    2. I remember we were going on a "field trip" (in Minecraft) and there were signs over little cages, so I think we were at the zoo.
    3. I took a lot of pictures with the camera. I actually think I might've screenshotted and saved them on my old Google Drive account.
    4. Literally no one used the elements because our science class in 5th grade was "go outside and observe ants."

I actually was reminded of something about Glow sticks that I believe was a bug in bedrock for a short time. Essentially the bug was related to transferring your worlds from the Xbox 1 and Nintendo Switch Editions to Bedrock. If I recall, the bug would end up turning certain dyes, I believe Inc Sacs and Grey Dye, into the corresponding glow sticks but with a missing texture. I still have them on my world which makes them an interesting trophy.

proof why you shouldn't play this version but why you should play java instead for better stability and features
2:00 you can use plugins to get that
2:16-2:45 pluginsss... also specific sounds can be muted in java :sunglasses:

    4:48 also possible by mods

5:07 i have used a mod in the past that does that exact same thing
5:16 don't remember the name of the mod but there is one that does that (supplementaries has similar chalkboard btw)
5:22 i think quark allows editing signs and other writable things
5:35 there are plenty of plugins i have seen in servers, that add those
5:56 computercraft / mining turtles / buildcraft stuff / datapacks / command blocks
6:19 dont remember the name but i have seen many mods have those
    6:29-7:02 mods and more mods
7:05 there is a mod dedicated for those but there also was another mod that added throwable ones (i played a modpack that added those and they were useful for caving)
7:17 there is one mod that does similar things, but i forgot the name
7:50 not sure but there definitely is a datapack or a mod for that too
7:58 pretty much every modpack has a book like that (even i made one using patchouli)
8:01 you can use mods to add that but its also possible in vanilla using map-arts or texture packs
8:14 MCEdit / FTB Chunks / Xaeros Worldmap etc.
9:34 yes, you can add pretty much everything with mods or data packs
