Be great to see a cost breakdown guys
For anyone who wants to know, if you can make your own chassis or get a trailer mob to make it, a $75k + caravan can be home made for $30k using the same panels here, $30-35k will get you a nice 16-18 foot caravan
I reckon you have done it the right way…. Building inside out is the way to go… just so simple and to confirm where your services are going and space you will have… well done… that’s how I’m going with my EOne Firetruck…. Looking good guys
Thank you :) it was all a big leasing curve & we are stoked with the outcome.
Good luck with your truck :)
I looked into using the styromax when I built my tiny house truck 2 years ago, it was going to add about 10 grand to my build cost so I just went with regular coolroom panels. I recently reversed into a tree and crushed a corner but should be able to fix it for about 100 bucks, I shudder to think how much a repair with the styro would end up being. Anyway Im here because I might do another build one day and given the budget I would try the styro mainly for its weight saving and superior insulation compared to steel lined foam panels...
Hey, where did you get the cool room panels? And how are you finding them, are they enough insulation by themselves?
@@Eddie.h what do you mean by themselves? You still need a heating and cooling source whatever you choose, metal is not a good material to use but if you cant afford the extra 10 grand for styromax then they are the next best thing.

April/Jack amazing work. Dreams !!
Thank you :) we are pretty stoked with it! better than buying a new one
It’s looking great guys. I was gob smacked at how the roof went on and then it became the front as well. Look forward to the. Next episode

Thank you! it has indeed. We have learnt so much, especially about each other!!
Hey guys! What an amazing job that you guys just done! Well done and congratulations for the time and dedication that you guys put in this incredible project. Missus & I are in video number one. Baha! We have plenty more to go.👏.. Quick question where about in Australia did you guys get the panels from?. Walls and roof. Cheers 🍻
Hi there Ivan, thank you for your kind words!
It was one heck of a build! Hope you've enjoyed the videos :)
A company called styromax, they are located in Brisbane :)
Just awesome! Great teamwork guys. I gotta pull my finger out and get into this.
Hopefully we have inspired you to do just that!
So good ! Good job to you both
You will need to use an adhesive to hold the blinds on and you will also need to put a sealant on the taillights as dust will ingress through the back and water will also unless sealed.
Hey Mark apparently no need for adhesive on these blinds. Unless you have had a bad experience with the exact set up?
We will be sealing all lights when we have a moment, just didn't get around to it!
Thanks for the message :)
@@JackCanDoIt rubber seals are good but red dust will find it’s way past unless positive pressure inside van.
@@JackCanDoIt great build for a young couple. You have really done well and learnt a lot. You must be pleased with your work.
When will the cost video be up. I’m curious how much the panels where.
What’s the overall length of your van.
van is 7meters. we will have cost up soon, just been enjoying the van!
Hi jack and April
What brand are the windows and door
Cheers
Is there a cavity in your walls for wiring to power points etc ? Looks good.....
Hi Zoe :) We ran all our cables through the joinery so it is easy access when we need to get at them!
We didn't want anything running through the core off the wall. Much easier this way!
Well done. How much difference did it make to the weight of the van from the original?
Gday guys, did you build this in SA? If so did you get your panels locally? Thanks very much
Amazing work right there. Any idea what's the weight of the full build without chassis?
Hi guys
Where abouts you got the outside panels joiners trims . Thanks
Hey, how's the travelling going?
I'd be keen to follow your journey
Great project. Are you doing a cost etc video?
Thanks Pat, we sure will be as well as a full walk around!
Low strength silicone on just the furniture (to the wall) would making doing an interior change or refit easy
It would but we also wanted to use this area as strength :)
Hey guys, was fun. Where can you get plans for the foam walls from?
Call up Styromax Brisbane, they will assist you :)
Awesome build, may I ask where you got the outside panels and the windows with the blinds and a rough cost please oh and what are the panels called?
Looking crazy good. Will you be doing a cost video? Look forward to seeing it as depending on cost it has inspired me to do the same thing.
Thanks Geoff! We sure will be doing a cost video! Hopefully we've inspired you tp create something!
Great idea.... caravans are overpriced... I like some features of all of them but not all of any of them!.. So I'm thinking of building my own...maybe having the trailer / shell built then totally customizing the interior...
Guys how did you get the shed for your build.
Awesome, wondering what brand model of windows you fitted
They’re from Aussie travellers ☺️☺️
Hey, just wondering if you guys were from Adelaide. Also when you travelled Australia, did you got to point lowly for a couple days? It's just outside Whyalla.
From Tasmania originally & we were there but not for long. maybe a day stop over.
Hey nice build Journal you 2. Just curious how much does that composite panel way and is it aluminium or steel?
Its all Fibreglass & weighs about half of what a aluminium & timber panel would pin a normal caravan.
@@JackCanDoIt deadset!!! Cheers guys
What adhesive/sealant did you use?
If you Contact StyroMax Australia, they will assist with this question :)
Hi guy how did the final build finish up would love to see the finished product
Hope you are still around posting
Yes, they did. Go through their video playlists
Hi, what trim are you using on the edges. How are you holding them on?
Watch all the videos :)
the frame is weak, there is no rigidity, it will quickly fall apart on the off-road, and so the idea is good
Hi. If i may ask where did you order the windows. Can you share the links if posible
Hello, what glue do you use and is it a strong Bond? 😳
Its an amazing bond! its called Teroson 939
Hi. Where do you cut those outside panels
StyroMax. This was mentioned numerous times in video
You guys never heard of Pickles
How comes no mastic seal in the windows?
Not required :)
Did you buy everything from styromax
All Panels & windows yess :)
where di you guys get your chassis from ?
Our old caravan. go and watch our first video
Now I understand the fingers down, the recording is terrible, too much camera movement, the details not seen well
Hi Fernando, thanks for your input.
We have had a couple of people say this and will aim to keep doing better with each post!
:)
April & Jack
Would love to know where the windows are from also!
What type of windows are these??
If you contact styromax, they will assist you :)
Do you have Facebook?
Only have instagram :)
