No auto-tune, no mixers, no stabilizers, no bullshyt... just raw talent and a mic. Why is Anna Nalick not more popular? Because she is a REAL artist and the music industry wants FAKE pop stars.
the problem is people always make slutty ass shaking girls mainstream famous. what a shame. this girl is better than Beyonce and madonna and who've r the fuck u wanna say.
Stack of Pancakes umm.... She was a folk singer, and pop ruined her. She sings better in folk but people wanted her to sing pop so she tried and I guess it ruined her :(
"2 AM and I'm still awake writing this song, if I get all down on paper, it's no longer inside of me threating the life it belongs too." And you're right, I used these words however I want to.
This song always comes back to me at the right time in my life. I never really look it up willingly, simply ‘cause I never really think about it. But like a superhero, it always swoops in to save me from going too deep inside the dark pits of my mind. I’ll hear it on the radio, or the intercom in a store. This time my school played it while I was suffocating within myself, and it’s been calming me down since. This is why I love music.
I love this song. Not only is it wonderfully done, but I've always felt a very close personal connection to it's lyrics. It came out not long after I was discharged from the military, depression and alcoholism having made me unfit for active duty. By the time this song came out I had been an alcoholic since my 21st birthday (in October) at Fort Bliss. My life was in shambles and I really needed the message to just stop and breathe
allnightfalling, from the lover/caregiver pov it was my go to as well. Sadly my (OIF I & III) 19D punched his ticket. Despite all his efforts the VA pulled him off a 6-combo prescription cocktail (that took us several years to find the perfect mix & gave him only Zoloft) after both his psychologist & psychiatrist retired months apart. It kind of pisses me off to see all the TV show soundtrack references in the comments. As this song literally once was more meaningful to military/veteran homes/lives. Thank you for leaving your comment. I feel less alone & am glad to see someone else possesses similar sentimental values with this song. Stay busy & keep your head up, always. 💙
In 2006 I deployed to Afghanistan. On the commercial flight from the States to Kuwait, this song was on rotation in the in flight music. Her voice helped keep me calm and almost warm inside. For some reason it helped me concentrate on eternal things and helped keep my mind on prayer and Christ. She was right that we will use this song however we want to.
Thanks man, In early 2003 I was on a C130, you could hear yourself breathing it was so quite everyone scared, the crew chief had a small walkman playing a song that I had heard several times but had never really paid any attention, to day I know all of the words often sing it in the shower much to the wifes dismay and can play it on bass, guitar and piano... Always wondered if anyone else had an experience similar to that in a time of stress. The young lady singing, I had never heard of till today, great voice, good song writer and easy on the eyes - just think 3 years earlier and you could have had Elton John
Several years ago my right leg had to amputated above the knee. After a couple days in the hospital I went to a rehab facility for a week. During one session I fell down and as I was trying to get up my stump suddenly cramped and spasmed terrible. As I fought the excruciating pain I guess I forgot to breathe. In the background I heard my therapist say breathe, breathe, BREATHE! Through the pain I thought of this song.
This was the soundtrack to the saddest moment in my life. It was playing in the hall in the vet's office when I had to go and have my beloved baby boy put down. Really struck me that I was listening to "breathe just breathe" waiting for him to stop. Now I listen to it when I need a good cry.
No show or movie brought me here! This is just the kind of song that everybody knows the beautiful music, but nobody knows the beautiful name of it. It's the kind of song that's just always been in the back of your head, but you don't know how it got there. This song is absolutely positively beautiful.
Anna, reminds me of a cross between Jewel and Alanis Morissette with those beautiful mixtures this has to be a smash, love her she is so Humble, long after she has grown away from the spotlight. My favorite sing by her ever.💕❣️🤘🏻
I'm so glad I was able to remember the name of the song, because I had heard it once on the radio a few years ago, but they didn't give her name. I finally searched for it by the title, and came up with more than one person. I listened to each of them, and recognized the one I was looking for by her beautiful voice. Thank God I wasn't having a total "senior moment", lol. Love this song! I grew up with classic rock, but I have heard other music that is really worth listening to as well. Some of my friends suggested other artists that I might like. They know me well, because they've never steered me wrong!! 😎
First song I learned to play. I was, and am still madly in love with this beautiful woman. The way this is written is amazing. I love the flow of the words.
this song is so therapeutic. cuz its depressing, but true with lyrics like "Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table No one can find the rewind button" And its nice to hear someone else telling u they've been through it and there's nothing u can do..so just breathe and it'll all be ok..
I remember when this first came out. I was in middle school and it got so much VH1 air-play; they would play so much. And that's the main reason why I started liking it so much and actually voting for in their charts. I just recently discovered Grey's Anatomy and during season 2 they play this. It felt so good to hear this again. I know it took the show to remind me, but I don't care. The song had a place in my heart before, and it will always.
Probably my favorite version of this great song. Beautiful lady, beautiful song, incredible voice. She still sounds great ( maybe better) in 2020 and is just as beautiful.
Such a great album a few years ago and she showed so much promise..then she just disappeared. She has way too much talent to not make it big. I was lucky enough to see her in concert in San Franciso a few years ago when she was supporting the "Wreck of the Day" album....a great album, by the way. Come back, Anna.
Beautiful song :) Reminds me of stepping back from the hard times and running away to my sanctuary that only I know about so that I could just breathe.
I come to this video every time I feel things are not going well and I don't know how to fix them. This song just have this big power of relax my soul and convince me everything is going to be ok. So, thank you, Anna Nalick.
I have Breathe 2 AM song by Anna Nalick on a White Inkjet Blank CD-R Disc burned in Summer 2005 on my iMac desktop computer in MP3 Format and it has no scratches and I will keep it forever 💿.
I am addicted to this tune. My friend Bridgette and i duet on this song. she does the singing and guitar and i do guitar. fun to play...especially when Bri sings it.
2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake "Can you help me unravel my latest mistake? I don't love him, winter just wasn't my season" Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes Like they have any right at all to criticize Hypocrites, you're all here for the very same reason And 'cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table No one can find the rewind button, girl So cradle your head in your hands And breathe, just breathe Oh breathe, just breathe In May he turned 21 on the base at Fort Bliss "Just a Day, " he said down to the flask in his fist "Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year" Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while But, my God, it's so beautiful when the boy smiles Wanna hold him, maybe I'll just sing about it 'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table No one can find the rewind button, boys So cradle your head in your hands And breathe, just breathe Oh breathe, just breathe There's a light at each end of this tunnel You shout 'cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out And these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again If you only try turning around 2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer Inside of me threatening the life it belongs to And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd 'Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud And I know that you'll use them however you want to But you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table No one can find the rewind button now Sing it if you understand And breathe, just breathe Whoa breathe, just breathe Oh breathe, just breathe Oh breathe, just breathe
💕❤ 💖........thx Anna ....song made me buy the CD years ago .....applies EXACTLY even now ... " these words are my diary screaming out loud and i know that you'll use them however you want to" Best
This song brings beautiful memories of a dear sweet friend brutally murdered almost two years ago.(Her family is in court with her killer as I write this) Picturing her singing this song soothes so many of our souls. (that is the last memory some of us have). Choking back the tears as I listen. Rest in peace Laura
Whatever happened to her? She was insanely talented. Just simple, emotional, lyrics. An amazing voice that needed no autotune. She's everything you could want in an artist.
She had a fall out with her label and they never let her release her second album. I know she independently released an album last year but I don’t know anything else. I think she’s still in legal fights with Sony Music.
Listening in 2024 and it still hits the same like it did in 2005. Core song for me.
No auto-tune, no mixers, no stabilizers, no bullshyt... just raw talent and a mic. Why is Anna Nalick not more popular? Because she is a REAL artist and the music industry wants FAKE pop stars.
Why isn't this woman more famous?! She's a brilliant writer/songstress not to mention damn easy on the eyes. What else is there?
Some selfish rich guy took her away..

The song title is "Breathe" but when I hear it I can't breathe, so I know how you feel. Stay strong, you got this...

She deserves so much more credit as an artist. Also, I need to find a girl like her lol.

2 AM and she calls me 'cause I'm still awake
"Can you help me unravel my latest mistake?
I don't love him, winter just wasn't my season"
Yeah we walk through the doors, so accusing their eyes
Like they have any right at all to criticize
Hypocrites, you're all here for the very same reason
And 'cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button, girl
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe, just breathe
Oh breathe, just breathe
In May he turned 21 on the base at Fort Bliss
"Just a Day, " he said down to the flask in his fist
"Ain't been sober, since maybe October of last year"
Here in town you can tell he's been down for a while
But, my God, it's so beautiful when the boy smiles
Wanna hold him, maybe I'll just sing about it
'Cause you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button, boys
So cradle your head in your hands
And breathe, just breathe
Oh breathe, just breathe
There's a light at each end of this tunnel
You shout 'cause you're just as far in as you'll ever be out
And these mistakes you've made, you'll just make them again
If you only try turning around
2 AM and I'm still awake, writing a song
If I get it all down on paper, it's no longer
Inside of me threatening the life it belongs to
And I feel like I'm naked in front of the crowd
'Cause these words are my diary, screaming out loud
And I know that you'll use them however you want to
But you can't jump the track, we're like cars on a cable
And life's like an hourglass, glued to the table
No one can find the rewind button now
Sing it if you understand
And breathe, just breathe
Whoa breathe, just breathe
Oh breathe, just breathe
Oh breathe, just breathe
ANNA'S VOICE AND AMAZING EYES COULD SERENADE ANYONE
I’ve never understood why this mega talented lady never became one of the biggest stars in the world.
