I honestly think she sounds just as good as-or even better than-the original artist. I didn't know so many of the cast members could sing. I know this episode got a lot of mixed reviews, but I thought it was great. I guess I've always been into musicals in general, but the amount of time and effort it took to pull this together must have been outrageous. Even if you don't like musicals, you gotta hand it to the cast, crew, producers, and everyone else involved.
Lisa Marie Davis I agree! I think it's partially because she's acting even in the vocals-she's supposed to sing the song as Lexie Grey, not as herself, and she did exactly that. The original is still good, but I definitely agree that there's more emotion in this version. Part of singing/performing is selling the song and letting people know you believe what you're singing through your voice, and she does a really good job of that. I also think we're all partial to the Grey's versions because we already have a lot of built-in feels from the show, haha!

I'm on season 15 and now my baby is killing it on Supergirl as a DEO Agent. It's nice seeing her so badass!! But I'm still pissed!! If Chyler wanted to leave Shonda's ass didn't have to kill her!! There was multiple ways to write her off.

Eric Dane and Chyler Leigh both asked to be released out of their contracts early (T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl did the same thing in earlier seasons), that's why the characters were taken off. I know it sucks, i hate it as much as the next guy, but that's just how things work out sometimes.. Mark & Lexie's story sure would've been great if they had gotten to finish it though..
