    Sometimes a bad battery (low voltage, bad cell, sulfonation, etc.) can cause weird drivability issues and/or a bunch of warning lights/messages. Modern cars have many interconnected electronics. If the car has the original battery, it may be a good idea to bring it to a shop and have it load tested. Great video!

    • @richardnavratil9661
      @richardnavratil9661 Год назад +1

      @@missingremote4388 I can tell you from my own experience - I had the Pilot 4S which the Bullitt came with. At about 25,000 miles (and 2 track sessions, mind you), they were toast. That was just before winter, so I got a dedicated Pirelli Sotozzero 3 on separate wheels, a square setup as opposed to the staggered the Bullitt has.
      Once it was time to take of the winters, I got Pilot 4 AS tires (Costco had a good deal). Those have been on the car since, even through past winter, as the winter in SW OH was pretty mild this year (compared to last year).
      So I basically have AS on most of the time and if/when the weather turns crappy say Dec-Feb, then I can swap in the dedicated winters.

    Hey Matt, I've had my Bullitt for over 2 years now, and I've noticed a definite toe misalignment in my fronts, too. It wore it down to the bead all of a sudden at 22k miles, surprising since it seemed okay ~1000 mile check before. Replaced brand new, but these MP4S tires are pricey. Since then, I've always parked with my steering cranked so I can read the tread every once in a while.
    I've heard from a few Mustang forums that the GTs and Bullitts from '19 can suffer from toe alignment issues, also.

Certainly not specific to Mustangs and Fords specifically. It will be interesting to see how this stuff is holding up 20 years from now. 4.5 years since I traded my brand new 19 bullitt with 1500 miles and knocking/ticking for my f82 M4. Absolutely no regrets as a daily the M4 just fits the bill for me way better. Way better engineered, better ride, way faster, handles better, looks better, no rust as the entire underbody is covered by aluminum and carpeted panels and the whole suspension is aluminum. As a daily it also gets 100-150 more km per tank which is definitely a surprise for someone who doesn’t look at gas prices.
    But … I do miss the rumble of the coyote 🥺 by now I would’ve had 20x12 and 20x10 3pc forged wheels on it , coilovers, 2pc rotors , headers, catted to a Corsa sport and full suspension bits replacing all the garbage boat anchor china steel bits that come stock. I never bothered to get them fixed since Ford's official fix was to hack up the mufflers to put new ones on. The flaking hasn't gotten any worse thankfully but it's still there.

    Same for me, I'm happy with my Mustang and trying to upgrade (if you want to call it that) to the new 2024 S650. It has everything I want and more, I'm glad I didn't get the digital gauges on my Mustang too. I'm happy with my analog gauges, love the look of them. I've been doing lots of suspension upgrades since I got it and it drives SO MUCH better now com pared to stock. Those bushings Ford puts on their Mustangs are garbage. If you haven't done them yet, highly recommended, you won't regret it! Car feels so much better and planted, doesn't fishtail anymore when pushing hard, doesn't get unsettled when going over bumps/potholes etc. Feels like a sports car now, love it!

    For 2005-2009 (maybe 2010) the limp made may be a faulty throttle position sensor. Not sure if this was his issue, but I learned the other from experience. The screws are very tightly threaded, very easy to break.

    Thanks so much for the update! I just got new tires for my 2016 Audi A6 (exact same size as your front tires) and replaced the original summer tires with the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 and am very happy with them. I haven’t driven them in the winter yet, but the guy over at the Tyre Reviews channel found their winter traction amazing given the high performance in other areas. I have found Michelin quality to be the most consistent of any brand and have usually regretted straying to other brands.

    • @karlbennion6595

      @@MattMaranMotoring I find them pleasant and quiet enough. It’s possible that the all-season tread pattern and depth have added some noise compared to the Goodyear summer tires I had previously, but it’s barely noticeable to me. Most tests seem to put it mid-pack for noise in its category.

    Four years for me! Love my 2020 Bullitt. You having less than 20,000 miles for 5 years is great. I have 6,000 miles on mine, but I use her strictly for racing. I beefed up the suspension and lowered her for the Central PA SCCA Solo races. No complaints. Runs like on rails. BTW: You said you need to replace the tires. I had to replace my tires for this season. Less than 6,000 miles the outsides wore off. Tires do not last if you drive aggressively spirited on the race course.

Fantastic Mustang. Maybe enjoy it more.

    Thanks for the update. I have a 2018 Ecoboost , black acct. pkg, and auto. It has 34,000 miles (59,000kms). The car has been great, got lucky with zero panel gap or paint issues, and it has been really rattle free...the car is very tight or than a very seldom occasional squeak (weather dependent). I find it very quiet ( did add some sort of cotton insulation in trunk, and stuffed some down the rear fenders by moving back trunk lining a bit). I have to replace a lower door speaker which blew...I believe the active noise system did that by constantly piping in engine sounds. After disconnecting the rear mic in headliner the car is quieter....less engine noise.

    Plausibility checker sounds like. All fords have a Plausibility checker that when it detects values outside of a set range, it throws the wrench. The wrench is almost always a result of the plausibility checker

    Love these updates, Matt. Been watching since the subaruwrxfan days. Actually got a Guard Green 2016 GT back in 2015 (closest i could get to a Bullitt at the time) with an eye to keeping it forever, as V8 manuals go the way of the dodo. After 8 years and 100,000 miles it's still going strong with only minor issues here and there. But I've retired it from track days and autocrossing though. Also put on the all-season extremecontact Conti's so i can take take it out all year if want as well, so definitely recommend those. Cheers to many years running these green machines 🍻

    Matt, you're making me pat myself on the back silently for spec'ing my 2019 GT with analog gauges. After 55k miles on mine (and a 1400 mile road trip around NoDak next week when I hit 5 years with it), mine has been - BAD PUN WARNING - Bullitt-proof. And, yes, I've occasionally skip-shifted mine also, but with no ill effects. If anything, I've had the center stack act up, but only when using wired Android Auto (which is far from flawless). Have you had any center stack issues? I believe the recall on yours is just a ECU reflash, as I had that for the rear camera (I don't have the BSM's on mine). In retrospect, I should've done a protective film like you, since I've never had a car that's been so much of a rock chip magnet - and big ones, too. Already took out one windshield. Even had a good sized one bounce off the front going though Omaha last month, putting a divot on the hood. It's almost like they used a softer SMC mix on the front facia. I'm pretty much at the point of getting a Shelby America front facia for its 100k mile anniversary present. As for tires, I run Pilot Sport 3+ A/S by choice (instead of 4 A/S's) and I really like them. Since I actually highway run with the car for 3 seasons, they work well on those "ohshit" days when it turns out to be 39-degrees and rainy on the drive home. I park it for the 4th season, as I get winter that will kill you with copious road salt and (worse) calcium chloride spray, so it doesn't see snow. Overall, just a fantastic road trip car (and averaging 27 - 29 MPG on the highways). Hopefully you get more road trip seat time in it, seems a shame to use it as an "airport car".

    • @MattMaranMotoring
      @MattMaranMotoring  Год назад

      Yeah, in my perfect world the 2019 would have the retro gauges from the 2008 Bullitt. Thankfully no issues with the center stack in mine. Sorry to hear about the bad luck with your paint, if you do get a new facia then that'll be a perfect time to wrap it! I may get to do a little road trip in mine in September, we'll see.
