An excellent commentary on this segment of Irish history. The mangling of the Irish leaders names is somewhat jarring, but understandable. Thanks.

Anglo-norman invasion was in 1171 under Henry II King of England at the head of a what was described as a large English army. Diarmuids hiring of a bunch of mercenaries was used an excuse to invade
With Henry II King of England planning the invasion since the 1150s long before Diarmuid shows up. One of Henry II’s first royal councils, held at Winchester in September 1155, was called for the specific purpose of organising a conquest of Ireland, over which his brother William would be made king.

Funny how this guy excludes the 6 counties in his maps and then has multiple flyover shots of Dunluce Castle on the North Irish coast. Your usual USA rubbish.

Get an Irish person to read the commentary. They know not to butcher pronunciation of Irish names.

This video is awful, the pronunciation, the gaps in time , the lack of the 6 counties. OMG Just Terrible.
