Britain only became a union in 1707. It was the dutch army that fought in Ireland before the treaty of limerick was signed and Patrick sarsfield got William, the stadtholder of the dutch republic to take his fifteen thousand troops to France. sarsfield wanted to take part in the French invasion which ended at the battle of the downs. But it took the English and Dutch fleets to do so. As usual the English were absent when it came to battle. Unfortunately sarsfield died in the French attack on the Austrian neatherlands and his Irish troops joined the French army as the Irish brigade. The English as usual broke the treaty of limerick and introduced the penal laws.

It took 1,400 years of brutal conflict and violence, to integrate the Saxon English with the Celtic Welsh, Irish, Scots and Cornish whilst the culture wars between them (particularly against the English) all rumble on today. How long will it take, and what conflicts arise, to integrate the new invaders and settlers to these shores? Just as Vortigern first invited the Saxons, so our politicians invite new immigrants. Forget history... repeat it.

No, it wasn't Martin Bormann, it was the top echelon of the Roman Catholic Church who assisted high ranking Germans to escape to South America. And not to forget it was the Americans who snatched top scientists in the rocket program and top brass in the intelligence business because they had a lot of information about the Soviets. Some were labelled as war criminals with many countries looking for them to no avail, because the Americans did not tell them. Stop trying to rewrite history.

Anglo-norman invasion was in 1171 under Henry II King of England at the head of a what was described as a large English army. Diarmuids hiring of a bunch of mercenaries was used an excuse to invade With Henry II King of England planning the invasion since the 1150s long before Diarmuid shows up. One of Henry II’s first royal councils, held at Winchester in September 1155, was called for the specific purpose of organising a conquest of Ireland, over which his brother William would be made king.

Clickbait. The Romans feared the sea? They built their Mediterranean empire by copying Carthaginian ship build techniques. Octavian became the first emperor by winning the naval Battle of Actium. The Irish Sea does not create unexpected storms... it's less dangerous than the North Sea. The Romans knew their limits, as confirmed by Varus when he lost his legions in the Tuetoburg Forest.

I call BS…. The romans circumnavigated England and had a fleet tasked with protecting it… im not sure how much thought went into this… and the romans set off into the unknown territory everywhere… the term barbarian is a result of that…. Good god.. suppose they made it across? Thats a silly thing to say… as is suggesting romans cant fight in any terrain. And… romans relied on the stupidity of unorganized attacks…. It was their bread and butter and they were masters of close combat. Chasing after enemies wasn’t really the deal as it was disorganized and ill disciplined. The only thing i agree with here is that taking Ireland was pointless, and theres your reason, not the rest…. And you finish with Rome trading with Ireland despite the opening line of the sea being too dangerous, which seems somewhat contradictory

Rubbish!. 1. The "British" did not try to conquer Scotland....The English tried - PLEASE - BRITAIN is England, Scotland & Wales!. United Kingdom includes Norther Ireland! Please..... state FACTS! 2. Every local in every nation obviously knows his / her local environment better than an invader - why do you think the Allied forces of WW2 spent over 12 months planning D-Day ! Scotland is unique - yes, it's terrain is tough, and so were the people - even the Romans had to build a wall!! While you have some pretty 4K photos in the video, your research...sucks ...3. The Zulu nation destroyed the English...the Scots fought for their rights and belief that Scotland was theirs - the English.(not the British) were hell bound to rule the land for nothing more than taxes / power....as they have done for centuries. Scotland is a country.... England is a country - history and especially WW2 taught us all...one thing....one nation attempting to dominate the world will never succeed!

Is this seriously a History channel? This video makes constant references to Britain and the British. At the time of Anglo-Norman occupation the term British referred to native Britons i.e. the Welsh or Cornish. The idea of Britain as a political entity in its own right did not come about until the Act of Union in 1707. ‘The English’ would be a more suitable term. Seems a lot like AI scholarship to me…🤷🏼
