    Nice build once again!
    I love placing the battle station directly behind the bridge as you did here. I do that on pretty much all of my builds, as it makes the most sense from an RP perspective. Deimos has some really awesome habs. I love the 2x2 engineering hab but the garbage drives me insane, so I always put a door entrance at the end there to eliminate it. I put the captains quarter in the exact same place you did because thats the perfect entrance point for a Deimos one. Would have liked to see you use a 3x1 living quarters cuz they make a really nice unique one as im quite sure you already know. I also like their 3x1 engineer bay B also. Thanks for the upload, always look forward to em!

    • @delindsay
      @delindsay  Год назад +1

      For sure, they have the BEST 3x1 Living Quarters of all, but length would've been and issue then as this Ship clocks in at 39m as it is. Or, had I done that, I'd have had a basically flat square rear which always bugs me.
      I'm the same on the garbage in the 2x2 Eng Bay, such an odd design choice by BGS.

    Very cool ship, makes me remember the Crimson Banshee, forgot it's name as a Deimos, but I remember it have a Japanese named one which I often find in Paradiso. Your ship looks like a stronger/newer version of that ship in a way, I think that's very nice. I used the Banshee for quite a while, really like this shape because, specially when you land, it is so cool to see everything from the ship bridge, that really is my favourite bridge so far, would love to see a similar version from each manufacturer. Actually, maybe my dream bridge would be a double deck version of the Ares, like the Nova Galatic one, but with full crew stations like the Viking bridge from Stroud, mixing my 3 favourites into one, hahahaha. I just find it funny how the Ares bridge gives 8 crew slots but only have to pilot seats and the navigation console, with a bunch of jump seats...Turrets do make sense in a ship this big, but I don't actually use it, only on very low mobility ships. Honestly, the ship looks so easy to navigate inside, mine often have at least 2 floors, so it can get a bit confusing, really hope the devs give us the hability to chose the placement for stairs and doors, that's the one thing that prevents us from buiding some stuff properly.

    • @delindsay

      Man, I'd kill for the option to chose in the Builder where Doors/Ladders go (and don't) but it seems like we'll have to wait until Modders get their hand on the Geck or w/e BGS is calling the Creation Club this time.

      @@delindsayI have found a way to prevent ladders from being placed in certain spots. However, it will not cause a ladder to appear elsewhere.
      So this method only works for preventing ladder's from being placed between the two layers of the Cabot bridge.
      Or in a weird niche case where two floors are connected via two different ladders and removing one of those ladders would still allow full access.
      What you need to do is place a ceiling / floor window between the two layers where the ladder would usually spawn. Then you have to use a glitch build technique in order to snap the hab over the window. Only one window is required, however if you place just one the side that the windows attached to will be able to see into the other have, but the other have won't be able to see into it. If you want neither have to have visible sight between them, just place two windows, one attached to the ceiling of the lower hab and one attached to the floor of the higher hab.

      I'll have to try it on my steam version to see if that happens to make a difference.
      I saw a video of someone about blocking ladders and doors, turns out they were using a mod to force doors and they were using the window trick to block ladder's and doors. I was disappointed as the video title didn't say modded, but, I decided to see if the window blocking trick was default gameplay functionality or part of their mod. It turned out it was default gameplay functionality and I was pretty excited.

    Have you considered swapping the fuel tank and the grav drive around? The fuel tank and reactor have similar shapes that might make it look a bit more symmetrical on top, and - with it being hidden away - it could also allow for the B-class grav drive to fit in if you wanted to.

  • @ozgamergdu
    @ozgamergdu Год назад +1

    I definitely agree with your choice to use the Nova Radiators, adds a nice touch and looks way better than the Deimos piece, I just wish the paint jobs would show up a bit more on them, but still, perfect fit for that spot. Another thing to point about choosing the cheaper bridge aside from the tiny amount of extra cargo you'd get with the more expensive one, is the more expensive one also adds more mass - not a lot, but I've had builds where I've pushed the mass limit to the point where adding something with just 1 mass - like a porthole for example would lick your jump range down a notch so it all adds up.
    I see what you mean though when you say the challenge is coming up with something truly unique - didn't realize I'd used the same side wing configuration on my Razorgrief as you have here , but I guess there's only so many configurations you can do with them.
    Can I ask what level your character is for this build?
    Do you have points in Astrodynamics? If not, that will give you a bit more bang for your buck with the Grav Drive.
    Nice build all up, sorry it's taken me so long to have a look - and I still need to check out a couple of your other builds, but I will when I get the chance.

    What level do you have to be to build this ship?

    • @delindsay
      @delindsay  Год назад

      While I can't say for certain as there's no known website that lists everything's level requirements, I believe 62. That said, you can built all of it with equipment that's available at lower levels 1st, then upgrade as your Character reaches each level milestone.
      For example, just 2 banks of Weapons will still do crazy damage but you could get away with a much lower powered Reactor that's available at a much lower level. The Grav Drive is available fairly early on but it's the Shield and Reactor that will be the higher levels. that said, you could even use a lower Shield, like the Class B Vanguard that's 1450 instead of this Class C that's 1600.
      There are certainly ways around high level requirements for certain Equipment in build you see that you like and want to replicate at a lower character level, or even lower cost.

    I kinda have an Idea for a ship (don't have the game or something that could play it though) from watching videos about the game the main shape would be 3 wide, 3 tall & either 7 or 8 depending on how long some parts are. it's kinda a tube does have a ladder kinda in the center. so lvl 1 landing bay to med bay, to 1x1(with bottom docker) to workshop kinda a strait line, lvl 2 double floor bridge, the mess hall, 1x1, crew area anything that fits in like 3x3 area, lvl 3 top of bridge, a computer area & command center (basically crew job places), 1x1, captain's quarters. that's the inside area adding what ever landing gear, engine, jump drive, fuel, thrusters, storage but the 1x1's have a space to the left and right there could be for the engine, jump drive and fuel keeping it kinda in a 3x3 space then after ward adding what ever cosmetic stuff to make it look better (it'll kinda look like a RV/motorhome) my idea is next to the 1st level add storage and also next to the captain's quarters, also if there's space maybe a 1x1 on top with windows on the 5 sides not attached to the rest of the ship (so have the stack of 1x1's be 4 tall instead of 3) & it'll have whatever for guns/shields. basically making the ship a home that you fly with.

    Nice design. Don't care if it's "basic" or not. You didn't do all 1x1 habs, so I wouldn't call it basic. You also stuck to one manufacturer (Deimos) so this will be fairly easy to replicate (just go to Deimos star yard and build there). As far as layout, I might change the captain's quarters to a Nova Galactic. Also, I'd really like to have an armory (always try to have one on every ship to store the "special" guns), but I'm not sure which one would work here (placement might have doors removing lots of racks and boxes). Over all, nice design.

    Oooh. Snazzy. Aside from all those Hopetech radiators. ;) I was happy to see engines other than the SAL-6830s (decided to not bypass the main quest in my first NG+ so I lost them and have to do Walter's Quest again.) but those DT2XX engines are energy hungry and the side only snaps are a pain! Also lost my favorite particle beams since I'm no longer Vanguard. Again, the Obliterators are energy hungry. I noticed no missiles, which I never use either as my PBs melt the enemy before the missiles lock on anyway. Also, I'm bad in whittling down on habs cause I feel that my crew should have comfy beds too! Also, do Starborn still need sleep? LOL
    One question I have if you knew about it and tried it but it's the enemy ship AI target the center of mass of your ship when they fire, but if there is no actual ship there, you don't receive damage. Shape means nothing in space, so an Escher-esque ship with a hollow middle should receive no damage. Your thoughts/experience?
