Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - The Oklahoma Police Department released body-camera footage of an officer-involved shooting that happened on December 8, 2021. Police said Officer Andrew Ash responded to a disturbance call at an apartment complex in the 6300 block of NW 63rd Street just after 8 p.m. Upon arrival, police said Officer Ash came into contact with suspect, 40-year-old Antwon Hill in a breezeway at the complex. Not long after, police said Hill reached into his pocket and then pointed a pistol at Officer Ash. At that point, police said Officer Ash discharged his weapon at Hill. Police said Hill then fled into an apartment and later surrendered to officers after an hours-long standoff. Hill was not injured. He was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on multiple charges. Officer Ash has been placed on routine administrative leave.

@@BobBob-eh5sb I thought so as well, but it is stupidity either way. Cultural warfare is destroying American's ability to think clearly on any subject with integrity - everything is political and nothing can be interpreted through the instrument of rational thought. I.E. This was a clear case of a LEO being threatened directly with a weapon and with time to reason through the threat. That is it. The officer needs more training and the department should conduct a hot wash of the incident, investigate why and how decision were made on the part of the officer, and then see what changes if any need to be made or if any parts need to be amended.
In these channels you will get a lot of hyper-political individuals invested in culture war issues instead of making intelligent and rational comments. Some of them are hysterical keyboard karens. Some of them are not even real people, but foreign bots generating dissent from overseas as part of a info-war campaign (if this sounds paranoid, well, it is accepted by intelligence analysts that we are beyond the cusp of a cyber campaign from foreign adversaries - note the sharp rise in service denial and cyber hacking incidents generated from NK, Russia, and China which are only the tip of what is happening outside mainstream notice).

Completely understand the officer backing off and going back behind the corner when he first saw the gun but the fact he didn’t then deploy his firearm and actually let the guy walk back up to him just tells me this may not be the career for him anymore. He’s honestly lucky he’s alive. I don’t care if he’s a nice officer or knows the guy from prior encounters and even possibly had a rapport with him (mental health or not) - he literally almost died because he failed to act and at least get more distance and disengage before the guy approached him. I get it some officers are quick to shoot and others take more time to use force but he literally almost signed his own death certificate. If you’re that scared of being crucified that you’re willing to do what this officer did, it’s time to find another line of work.

@@ghostfrieza2904 I don't understand why everyone always suggests shooting the suspect in the leg, most people aren't that accurate and also the leg contains a huge artery that could result in his death eitherway. Tbh, a gut shot would be better than leg shot and when he was around the corner the cop 100% should've drawn. It was his opportunity to and get the guy on the ground or start shooting him, eitherway the second he pulled his gun out and refused to put it down, that should've been enough.
Also, if he had shot the suspect we both know that BLM would've still found a way to make it a "RACE" thing... literally i don't understand how people support BLM they literally advertise their goals and say they want to dismantle the government and basically uplift the black community at the cost of other communities... doesn't seem they want equality, they want a role reversal.

To me if someone has a possible gun in there pocket after they have already shown they are armed, they are going to try and ambush me if they approach. Which the suspect technically did in this circumstance is try and execute a ambush. Why the suspect didn't fire his weapon is quite puzzling but my guess is he wanted to do a execution style shooting after some humiliation or some such to that officer. (Cartels kinda do that before they cut rival members heads or limbs off)
I watched security footage of a robbery in Lousiania where a old lady in her late 60's to early 70's was working front desk at a motel, suspect comes in and draws his weapon and lets her know she is being robbed. The footage then cuts to the suspect with a bag with the money inside and the suspect then shoots her 3 times in her chest even tho she complied the whole time from the CCTV footage perspective. There is also home security footage of neighbors arguing and one neighbor decides to go get a pistol and shoots both of his neighbors, the armed neighbor then returns with a rifle and executes his fellow neighbors wife after he yells in her face "you just shoulda shut your f*cking mouth" or something close to that.
