Spawn
Crook: "The hell are you suppose to be?"
Batman: "I'm Vengeance"
The Spectre
Ghost rider is my personal favorite
Moon knight 🌙 scary 😨 hero ☆
Etrigan, Judge Dredd, Venom, Billy Butcher, The Female, could've also been on here. A second list must be made.
Rorschach over Dredd, Venom, Etrigan the Demon, or even fucking John Constantine? You even have Red Hood or Damien Wayne as worse than him.
Venom is not superhero !!!
@@MrMrjack18 as of recent years, he's a full time good guy..
@@MrMrjack18 he’s an antihero that is going to superhero now so yes he is
Billy Butcher is a hero ?
Wolverine is terrifying. Most media he is in have to censor him in some way, preventing his claws from just ripping every foe he runs into to shreds of meat and blood. He also gets to be nearly indestructible and extremely persistent. In the X-Men Ultimate lineup during a battle he orders someone to cover Kitty Pryde's eyes so she won't have to see what he does to a squad of US marines when he stops holding back.
Logan's the closest we get in movie form to how brutal he can get right?
Damn!
bruh he isn't Terrifying he's awesome! I love him
@@borkupine9800 Yup
I was just about to mention him, he himself isn't scary like Spawn or Ghostrider but the things he can do when angered, that is scary enough
As a huge ghost rider fan and someone who's cosplayed him (albiet genderbent) twice, I appreciate you guys for making him number one
Hell Yeah
He is by far the scariest ! no doubt about it !
I could make an argument for Wolverine, and The Hulk being terrifying.
Hulk especially
Hulk is terrifying in every way, unless where’re talking about the MCU Hulk where he was made to be the comic relief.
@@enderethan144 or the our teams losing whip out the unstoppable plot armor
@@ALX-yg7ns what do you mean by that?
Immortal Hulk was terrifying
Forgot something regarding Batman. Insanely intelligent. So much so that he's regarded as one of the keenest analytic minds in the DC Universe. Cold, calculating and enigmatic he actually cracked Darksied's own encryption code on his own with no computerized help. His counterpart in the multiverse, his father no less, was a brutal tactical master. Bruce Wayne/Thomas Wayne were not known for just their gadgets and tricks. When you're actually intelligent enough to decipher a cryptext with nearly 200 trillion characters with just a brain storm theory, you're bordering on being nearly Dr. Manhattan levels of intellectual power. That's why I consider him actually more intimidating than most other superheroes, the mind is a powerful weapon to wield.
True dat
So glad you have Spawn on this list-terrifying, but glad he’s on our side! Also Rohrschach-loved Jackie Earl Haley was terrific in this role. If you ever read the book you’re amazed he didn’t turn into a villain when you read his backstory.
I also love him and his portrayal, his like a brutal Detective , and nobody can make him stop until he gets justice
When I was a kid, Ghost Rider scared the *bleep* outta me. Nicolas Cage, not so much
I was excited to see him when I was 7
In my opinion, Nicholas Cage is scarier, because he actually exists.
@@homeaccount5943 hahaha...that's very true.
I was scared of Ghost Rider as a kid, but as an adult, I'm scared of Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage casting choice scared me very much 😅
You gotta appreciate that "guy with a lot of guns" makes it into the Top 5, above a literal demon and Dream god. Frank is a tricky comic book character. Some writers think he's the only cool one while others think he's a grunting, monosyllabic lunatic. Even the original author of Frank has said that Frank would think it's gross that people have his logo as bumper stickers or decals. And yet...
No Spectre on this list? He is literally a ghost that fights crime with killing.
I was just thinking the same thing.
I think they chose the most memorable ones but yeah Spectre should've been there
Moon Knight and not the Spectre. Complete BS. Justice for Jim Corrigan.
Both Ghost Rider & Spectre are spirit forces, dealing out justice to those who deserved it.
@@geraldstephens6612 Dad says that only one is God's Spectre of Justice, though!
Glad you included the best: Punisher
I really expected to see Deadpool on the list somewhere. Ghost Rider gave him the Penance Stare and Deadpool just saw it as a highlight reel of how awesome he is. An immortal killer with a broken mind is scary as hell.
Ghost Rider: Punisher! I punish you!
(Nothing happens)
Ghost Rider: What is this?! How do you resist my Penance Stare?!
Punisher: I regret nothing.
Ghost rider: "sorry all out of mercy."
Rebel Wilson: That’s cool
@@olvialee7221 yep
What about Raven, Spectre, Venom, Judge Dredd, Hulk, Wolverine, Tom Cat and Spider-Man Noir, them are pretty scary if you think about their characters and origins.
Raven is the offspring of a demon
Venom isn’t a hero. Marvel only made him a hero because they didn’t know how to adapt a villain into a singular film.
@@danielholguin7621 Venom started as a villian but ended up an antihero and had a short lived series Venom: Lethal Protector in the 90's. he also teamed up with Johnny Blaze and Ghost Rider in the Spirits of Vengeance series in a crossover called Spirits of Venom and also teamed up with Spiderman on multiple occasions to fight Carnage.
i don't think a black suit makes Spiderman Noir scary. i have seen the film, hes pretty chill.
@@thatbritishgamer_ I meant Spider-Man Noir from the comics not Nicolas Cage’s portrayal of him.
Marv From Sin City I Loved Mickey Rourke's performance as the Anti Hero but the guy can tear through Police like paper and superhumanly durable so there's that to think about
Awesome list. I would also add the Mask, Venom and Judge Dredd.
Venom is more of the a villian Judge Dredd would had actually been a good choice The Mask I really dont know but I can see him on the list
@@sincity6051 Venom used to be a villain but now he is a full-on antihero. His only villainous acts were perpetrated because of Eddie Brock and the symbiote's shared hatred of Peter Parker/Spider-Man.
@@HunterShark300 Todd McFarlane created Venom (The symbiote) as a villain. The symbiote didn't hate Spider-Man, it actually bonded with Peter to begin with but it was so evil that Peter Parker wanted no part of him to be controlled by the symbiote. That's when Eddie Brock bonded with it (Last Panel of Amazing Spider-Man #299). His hatred of Peter, and desire to kill him, were faaaaaaaaar from his only villainous acts. They did the same type of thing with Deadpool. He was a complete villain when he debuted in New Mutants #98 but was slowly morphed into a wise cracking antihero as he became more popular.
@@HunterShark300 I think the fact that he is primarily known as a villain makes him exempt from this list. I take issue with Batman ranking higher than Spawn. Also, the Hulk should absolutely be here.
The mask is not scary to me
Blade deserves a spot on this list
@THICC girls twerk Right he just Intimidating
Ghost riders and joker absolutely scary
"Superheroes list" what joker doing here ?
Rorschach, one of my few favorite Watchmen characters.
We really, REALLY 🖤 every single version of the Batman.
except the one from "batman and robin"
@@sheikhumar8242
Right.
great list definitely hellboy punisher batman and ghost rider being terrifying his look is scary and also the fact that he has the ability to make criminals feel pain of their victims that they have wrong is pretty terrifying but at the same time ghost rider is one of the coolest comic book characters and ghost rider is my 3rd favorite marvel comic character
Its a shame this video was recorded before Marvels; Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, because I guaranteed the Scarlet Witch would have made the list after that movie.
Scarlet Witch is a villain though. Wanda and Scarlet Witch are both the same character but very different from each other. The Scarlet Witch is corrupted while Wanda is not. Wanda is the hero in the story so perhaps if they would've made the video after, the could've added Wanda before the finale of Wandavision
Sam raimi darkman should be on the list. He was the scariest superheroes. Also
TAKE THE F PINK ELEPHANT!!!
I would also add the Hulk to the list. Come on. A big, green, angry giant monster? How is that not scary? And if we include antiheroes, perhaps Venom and Morbius.
10:16 10:26 Best Batman ever.
11:29 Ghost Rider is my favorite and best anti hero ever.
I've never been scared of Batman, hellboy or Moon Knight
Ghost Rider is definitely the best Supernatural Hero in the Marvel Universe for sure.
Look up cosmic ghost rider, he’s awesome, I also recommend his book 📕
"I'M NOT LOCKED IN HERE WITH YOU, YOU'RE LOCKED IN HERE WITH ME"............. BONE CHILLING
Swamp Thing, the Earth-level hero.
damn i gotta watch The Crow again, been too long.
I’ve never seen it, I’ll watch it
@@TZM676 don’t
I would think "Darkman" would be a better fitted for where Batman is.
I just watched that movie 😅
Difiantly should be included
Oh yeah! And what a masterpiece of a movie that original "Darkman" is.
Is the other 2 good?
You're right, take it from Adam West.
Great Video! *This list is awesome!*
Amazing video watch mojo of the scariest superheroes, fantastic job.
_(This is based on my limited knowledge about some of these guys)_
Imagine this scenario. You're a big time enforcer for a major crime family, and you're the boss's right hand man. He asks you to call a meeting at one of his estates to brief some of the top soldiers about an upcoming job. He cannot be seen in public, and as a result he will not be present. The briefing is supposed to happen at night in the dining hall, with a number of guards present around the compound and inside the house, with all the head soldiers attending the briefing. Suddenly...
*A)* You hear screams coming from outside. Immediately, everyone draws their weapons. You hear gunfire, followed by screams. You send some of the guards to check on it, while everyone else hides out in a more secure room upstairs with a single window and a door. The gunfire and screams continue, as they get closer. Suddenly, the noises stop, when a guy in a full white suit jumps through the window and starts throwing blades at the remaining soldiers. Bullets barely affect him, and he keeps attacking (and even maiming) everyone until only you are left. He looks straight at you and says "tell me everything about your boss, or this could get ugly". ("Random Bullshit GO", might or might not have been said during the fight).
*B)* Suddenly... the lights go out. You draw your weapon while the guards switch on their flashlights. One of the guards falls to the floor, dropping his flashlight. Within an instant of this happening, you hear sounds of fighting and bones breaking all around, as you hear people hitting the ground. When the backup generator turns on, everyone around you is beaten bloody, and some have bat shaped blades stuck in their hands. You hear a noise behind you, and turn to see a dark figure when he knocks you unconscious. When you regain consciousness, you find yourself hanging upside down from the top of the roof, with a rope around your leg. In a very deep voice, the man asks you about your boss. When you refuse, the rope gets loosened. Out of fear, you tell him everything you know as you stare at the long drop below. You turn back and see that he's disappeared, as the sound of police sirens start getting closer.
*C)* Suddenly... you hear screams from outside. You send some guards to check on it, and you hear more screams. (As was with the Moon Knight case), everyone locks themselves in the upstairs room. The noises stop, and slowly everyone steps out of the room. There's blood and dead bodies everywhere. Suddenly, the people around you get killed one by one, and your hand in which you were holding the gun gets cut clean off. From the shadows steps out a detective looking guy with a meat cleaver covered in blood, his face has a Rorschach test on it. He says... "You're boss. Tell me where he is. Now."
*D)* Suddenly... a sniper bullet flies through the window, and hits one of the guys straight through the head. Immediately, everyone takes cover behind the walls. One of the soldiers peeks out through the window and says he can see a van in the distance with its headlights on. He says it looks like there's someone standing in front of the van, but as he speaks another shot from the sniper kills him. Everybody leaves the room in a hurry to get to the upstairs room. One of the guards in front trips off a claymore on the staircase, killing atleast 2 people. Everyone escapes the house through the back. Around the corner, you can see the van, and you order a few of them to flank the shooter while you look call in reinforcements. You and the remaining soldiers then see all the perimeter guards lying dead alongside some of the guards that were stationed inside the house, all with their throats slit open. It suddenly strikes you that the claymore was planted on the staircase, meaning the assailant got into the house before he used the sniper. You look at the van, and the soldiers approaching it. The van explodes into a massive ball of flame, killing everyone around it. As you and everybody else stares, wondering what just happened, you hear the sound of weapon being loaded from behind. You turn around to see a man with a skull on his chest, holding an M-60 machine gun. Before anyone can react, he unloads a few bullets into your legs, knocking you to the ground as he kills everyone else. You see the bullets tears their flesh apart, with blood and organs spraying all over the place. The shooting stops, he looks at you, drops the gun, and turns to pick up an axe that was leaning against the wall. In a deep voice he says "Tell me about your boss, and I'll consider making this quick".
Jackie Earle Haley would be a badass Wolverine if Marvel and Disney has the balls to go to the dark depths of that character Man
Have you seen Logan?
I love the original Ghost Rider movie. Nicolas Cage profromace was so over the top. That it made the lack luster plot more enjoyable. And some of the cgi hasn't aged well. Too me it's squeal doesn't exist.
Ghost Rider starring Nicolas Cage and Eva Longoria's cleavage
Same here man. That’s the movie that introduced me to Nicolas Cage.
The second movie was horrible...the first one was good
Ghost Rider in S4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D is awesome.
@@hollis684 Exactly ! the first one is a good movie but 2nd is terrible !
Ghost rider is not a scary person. He is a badass through and through!
He's practically the Devil that can't be killed by mortal weapons and if he has you in his sights praying to God isn't going to save you b/c he'll just burn your soul.
How could you say ghost rider isn’t scary he’s literally the devil’s bounty hunter
@THICC girls twerk yeah I bet if you saw a skeleton biker on fire you wouldn’t be scared
@@money1bil 😂😂😂 well said
@@tracknation3463 right, but only if you have been a naughty boy
I wonder where my hero OCs ShadowDemon, Lizardman, Unnatural, and Sharkskin Seth would rank on this list.
I'd say hulk is terrifying especially in Peter David's hulk comics and Al Ewing's immortal hulk comics
Nice to see both swamp thing and spawn on the list, Liam Neesons Darkman would be a fitting addition..
Ghost Rider being my favorite hero of all, I hope he gets his own reboot one day.
Ghost Rider is one of the few superheroes who can actually go toe to toe with the hulk in terms of strength and endurance because the powers of the Ghost Rider are only limited by the imagination of its host
Enter the Cosmic Ghost Rider, then. What's scarier than the Punisher? One with the powers of the Ghost Rider and then some.
Etrigan and The Shadow should be on the list. This should deserve to have at least a top 20, not just top 10 given the number of heroes/antiheroes who deserve to be on the list.
No. 2, Speaking of Batman, now that Warner has merged with Discovery, and the fact they are doing a complete overhaul on DC Entertainment, and the fact that the entertainment brand now has it's own studio and are in search for their own Kevin Feige of the brand, and the fact they want a more consistent coherent and creative film strategy, and that they want their films to be more like Todd Phillips' Joker, and that they want to Revitalize top-shelf characters that had been left to languish like Superman. Do you think they should continue plans with the Snyderverse and restore it and keep Batfleck as the DC cinematic universe version of Batman? Or: Do a hard fresh reboot on the DCEU and give us a DCEU with the fantasy, magic, and fun that the DC Universe is known for, and give us another DC cinematic universe of the Dark Knight himself?
In all honesty I would be 100% down for an Arkham style Batman film. I loved Batfleck but Robert Battinson could pull it off as the closest possible version of a live action Arkham style Batman and I would be completely down for that.
@@CB-THE-OG uhh...I don't know about him being the new cinematic universe version of Batman, especially since we'll be getting a Arkham Asylum and Penguin spin-off series, if anything I would want to kick off my new DC cinematic universe with the same hero they kicked off the old one with: Superman, only a non-Snyderverse with the joy and fun that the character's known for and more like the Tim Daly version from the DCAU
Moon knight is so bomb, but if done right, ghost rider should be the scariest available. If done CORRECTLY 😁
350: I was a kid when Ghost Rider was released but that didn’t scare me either. I find it awesome
Why the fuck are you numbering your comments.
Nice to see our boy, Moon Knight on this list. ^^
Spawn has significantly more of an intimidation factor than Ghost Rider. Don't get me wrong; I don't want to be anywhere near a biker with a flaming skull. As frightening as that is, a man with no face and a cape that's both sentient and amorphous is more frightening. Spawn's entire character is hard to describe in comparison to Ghost Rider, as Ghost Rider is just a dude with a flaming skull while Spawn is, as mentioned, a silhouette with a cape that can take any form. Rider is a panic at the disco while Spawn is a paralysis demon that shows up when you're awake. Both are cool as all hell though, and that's a fact.
There's at least one version of Ghost Rider who is the physical embodiment of divine retribution, almost rivaling Gawd in power.
No Etrigan the Demon? The people who made this list must be braver than me lol.
10. Moon Knight
9. Rorschach
8. Dream
7. Hellboy
6. The Crow
5. Punisher
4. Swamp Thing
3. Spawn
2. Batman
1. Ghost Rider
i LOVE/LOVED the crow and also LOVE/LOVED ghost rider but to be honest but ive only seen the first ghost rider movie, the 2nd one in my option it doesnt look at good as the 1st one
Dont..do not see the second ghost rider because it sucked!!
Yeah, it kind of did 😭
Soon as he mentioned punisher I automatically thought of RDCWORLD1 😂🤣
The Man-Thing & Etrigan The Demon. should also be on this list. There both the scariest Monster and Demon ever in both Marvel & DC respectively. Only time The Hulk. was scary is "The Immortal Hulk" that was one freaky version of the big giant.
Whatever knows fear burns at the touch of the Man-Thing! 🔥
I think that Man Thing (Marvel) is a terrifying superhero because his literal power is that if you feel fear near him, you will be burned by his touch
Finally, some recognition for one of the biggest bad ass marvel's, Ghost rider. He as sweet to me as shadow the hedgehog
He's honestly one of the most underrated super heroes ever. And he's my favorite.
@@InkAndPoet yeah. I know in his movie sequel was shit, but the first one. Damn. I may only paid it on walmart for 5 bucks but i love the movie. The music western or action music, sam elliot, the villain looks cool, and when he changes into ghost rider(blaze), well, your already dead
Where are you!
Batman: here
Huh!
Lol
If you’re gonna talk Moonknight you gotta mention Jake Lockley. He’s the real merciless menace
MOONKNIGHT TRULY ACTUALLY OBVIOUSLY LIKE BATMAN AND POP ASSASSIN CREED COMBINATIONS HER ARE MY PAVORITE SUPERHEROES AFTER DOCTOR STRANGE
Ghost Rider is actually an angel of vengeance named Zerathos and he also had the fire skull to
Your new voice guy is doing good narrations.
The Punisher is a lot more terrifying than Batman.
Keanu Reeves NEEDS to be the Ghost Rider in the MCU
I love Batman but I feel like there are more terrifying heroes that should be on this list. Blade, Hulk, Judge Dredd, Spectre, and arguably Wolverine. Batman has been seen in a campy light unlike the other heroes.
They forgot Hulk,Wolverine,Daredevil,Man Thing,Jason Todd/Red Hood,Elektra,John Constantine,Etrigan,Dr.Stephen Strange,and Scarlet Witch.
Expected to see Venom on the list. Deadman and Spectre also deserve honorable mentions
I think you missed a few. Top 10 sounds nice, but this could have been a top 20 for sure. Venom, Marv(sin city), Homelander, Wolverine and a few more.
Homelander is not a superhero.
I wanna see Norman Reedus play the next Ghost Rider
Blade
Daredevil
Specter
Wolverine
These are just a few superheroes that very well Could send chills down anyone’s spine.
How is Jackie Estacado aka ( THE DARKNESS) not on this list??
I loved ghost rider since I was 4. I read a lot of the comics at ages 6+ (because I couldn't read before turning 5) but I loved both movies because I could relate to the character in a way. He was basically my therapist for my issues.
Hell Yeah
Can you do one for the top ten most terrifying superheroines?
From Marvel comics ManThing and Damian Helstrom (Son of Satan). From DC ... The Spirit
Batman is without a doubt the scariest superhero and popular hero of all time. Ghost Rider, he definitely is, so is MoonKnight, I’m upset that Daredevil didn’t make the list. I mean, to fight a lot of people while being blind is truly terrifying!
Please do a part 2 because there is more. Spectre, Morbius, Hulk, Wolverine, Deadman, Man-Thing, Deadpool, etc.
Welp, now I have some awesome movies to watch tonight.
Thanks again WatchMojo!
Top 10 Superhero Horror Movies
dream, the crow, the punisher, spawn are my favorites.
the crow, punisher, and spawn all inspired my own independent anti-hero character and universe
Rorshach is my favourite. It disturbed me to no end that the villains in the Watchmen show used his mask. Haters gonna hate, but I loved Snyder's Watchmen. The show is good as well, but it can't compare.
I also loved the new Hellboy. Gory, scary, great castings except for the witch chick. It was just realized poorly compared to what could have been. The Ron Pearlman versions were too cutesy and child-friendly.
Glad someone likes the new hellboy movie
Should’ve mentioned that time Batman scared literal ghost like beings he couldn’t see or touch by saying a three letter word boo
I've watched The Boys season 1 and 2 and I am excited for Season 3. And after watching those I gotta say Homelander has to be #1 on this list, he's terrifying
Lmao but u do realise homelander is not even close to being an actual hero right
MoonKnight is also terrifying,
Because with each phase of the moon, his power grows tenfold then the night before.
And the fact that he can never die, and konshu keeps bringing him back to life
You forgot that Dream is literally the "Lord of the Nightmare Realm" and can bring your worst nightmares to life!
No way!, my favourite superhero Ghost Rider is at the top of the list, awesome list WatchMojo!!

If they do another Ghostrider gotta be rated R!
to refer to Dream as a superhero is really doing the character and his complexities a disservice honestly

I know Batman is scary but if you're a criminal atleast he wouldn't kill you
Red hood own the other hand will kill you and is more brutal and violent
I think red hood is kind of scary. He is Batman without the no killing rule.
Batman isn’t terrifying, he’s only terrifying to villains, but then again, not all that terrifying, because they keep doing it over and over again. Now, uncontrolled Incredible Hulk and Nightmare Superman is terrifying.

God Butcher
Joker
Blackheart
Jigsaw, from Punisher war zone

@@TZM676 oh I should also mention villains like Jonathan Crane, also known as: Scarecrow as well
Cool but Venom ,Wolverine and Deadpool should be in the list.thanks for your work 🙏
Still like to see an adaptation (Disney +/MCU) Ghost Rider starring Norman Reedus. Danny Ketch, revealed as one of the 'Dogs of War' bikers mowed down in The Punisher. Danny bids his soul, turns it around in exchange of becoming the next Rider. Quest of vengeance turns to a couple one-off team ups, supernatural element with Dornamu and Dr. Strange. Cameo Nicholas Cage's Johnny Blaze and the other riders.
How did the Toxic Avenger not atleast get a honorable mention?
As a Marine glad you used the term "former" Marine. There are no ex Marines. Also I think Man-Thing is scarier than Swamp Thing. He should have definitely been on this list
Tbh i think the Robert Pattinson cinema atmosphere brought the fear batman gives his foes perfect onto the screen the sound and the light is just insanely well made
How the hell did Spectre not make the list?
Nice
I think they don't wanna scare away the audience that is why they did not mentioned Morbius
